Lesse, I guess the sense of being annoyed came from the typical portrayal of Harajuku Sunday afternoons being the whole of the Japanese subculture. Heck, Harajuku Sunday's almost all tourists now.
Very Ape... think Nirvana meets Invisibleman's Deathbed meets Detroit7. With bits of Rocky Horror thrown in. Not exactly pop, no. :-)
Aye, notice I followed Victor's advice and did not put Discovery in the tags. I figured it's only fair since they showed Very Ape but didn't name them.
That was indeed me - I just found out about it myself a few days ago from co-workers who stumbled across it.
I did that interview a year and a half ago for what I thought was a French cable channel show at the time. They must have sold it or parts of it to the Discovery Channel.
Makes sense. I Googled for the title and a bunch of the channels where it showed up were indeed French.
Aye once I knew a little more about the nastinesss of the train hubbub I almost didn't post this, but then I saw 2ch was already posting every possible personal detail about you already. Figured there was no point in not posting this, but say the word and it's gone. ;-)
I once farted in front of Nicholas Pettas and Peter Graham. Not joking either. (^_^;)
I've been to uchiage with Lolita No.18, sat down and talked with Ma-chan. This is a band who when they covered Rockaway Beach, Joey Ramone directed and appeared in the video.
One of these days I need to do a full ten minutes of name dropping. I probably could fill up the ten minutes too!
I've watched some of the documentary now and the dubbing for the japanese is annoying. Reminds me of the bilingual news here. Just sounds silly.

Pfft, I haven't bothered with dubbing ever since it tried to make Scully sound like a girly girl.
Japanese dubbing works better with British English, not so good with American English.

According to the discovery channel, Very Ape is a JPOP band... I get the annoyingness.
This show was upon YT briefly and I had it favorited, but "the man" stepped in and took it down...
Peace

Alrighty. Take care y'all. :-)

Yeah that was definitely Dave! wtf! I wanna be on TV!! what was the name of the show?
Daichen 3 years ago
Lesse now... "Made in J POP" was the original English title of the documentary. Japanese title was "特集・日本:世界が注目!J-POP".

That sure looked like RoninDave to me!!
My friend & I once spent the night hanging out with Earthshaker in Kyoto. They were a big J-glam band in the 80s. (Think Japanese Whitesnake)
