@takeachance182 Scissor taper on the sides to about finger length. Take about a half an inch on top (Keep it long..). Texturize the top of the haircut with deep point cutting. Last step is "I like to wear my hair with a side part, but still somewhat messy. Can you finish the style with a wax or clay?". Gel is useless for messy styles. Invest in a good styling wax or clay. Their hanz de fuko stuff they sell is good stuff, but not necessarily required.I hope I helped you out.

@funnkid wash you hair less frequently for volume. and start combin them like he does in his "brad pitt inglorious basterds hairstyle". Once your hair start getting used to being combed behind.

Here's the important bit- go for a haircut and tell the barber to cut your hair while holding it UP. Not down. I mean dont cut the fringes. Cut it by holding your hair up, It should help.

Also- running/jogging make hair easier to comb behind. You hair are more lively if you blood flow is good
