  • they should be pumping their arms when doing footwork drills and not looking at the ground so you can focus on whats ahead of you

  • hey folks i got a questions i just started playing football and i wanna know if its right to train you lowerbody most.i do alot of leg press and sqaut not a alot of bench press

  • i would focus more on the upper body for tackling purposes but get decent leg strength for speed and such

  • a good tackle comes from your core and legs

  • It's definitely a good idea to be doing squats and leg press but since your legs are such big muscles they take a lot of time to heal and repair after a workout so you dont want to train your legs all the time because that would be over training and is detrimental to your progress. So you should for sure be training your upper body.

  • lol overtrain? its called the offseason. you HAVE to train your legs or the rest of your body wont grow. You need to put and inch of muscle on your legs before you can expect an inch to your arms, chest or w/e. The growth harmones stored in the biggest muscles in your body need to be pumped up to your heart.

  • 07ONEBLOOD07 made some fine points. Although, this stuff is excellent if your goal is to destroy your wrists. These kids wont be doing anything professionally. Slow things down. If you do anything that strains the bones in your wrists, just don't do it. Don't piss around with strength training if you're under 18. If you're under 18, do high reps, and do them slowly. Don't match your breathing with your reps because you will be doing them slower than you can breath.

  • You are so wrong. You better stop gymnastics then. Traing at any age is fine if techniquee is good. Aloy of these guys have trained here since they were 12 and they are now playing university football, or major junior hockey

  • some of the stuff i saw was pretty standard stuff we do but i learned quite a bit from this video

  • pritty basic football training if your not doing that you wont be successfull... some of those movements you were doing are actually bad for you muscules, their growth, rate of movement and tension effect... some of that shit jus ripps your muscles apart beyond repair( ie the throw at the end of the powerclean)

  • what does bouncing a sledge hammer off a rubber tire do, sorry but these things are not safe, what if the hammer slips, dont be near that, may be its good for chopping wood?

  • The first thing is safety! No one is around when he is swinging the hammer. Always check the hammer before using it to make sure there are no cracks or the head is not loose. It is good for grip strength, core strength, cardio(especially after flipping the tire 10x, explosiveness) A hell of a lot better than crunches or SL Cable Trunk rotations standing on a BOSU Ball

  • do pull overs with a 120 pound dumbell, and deadlifts, keep it simple and lift heavy

  • This is not their strength day. It is their Energy System Training Day. I do not know how you do pullovers, but pulling 120 db over my face seems a little more unsafe. Trust me There are lots of deadlifts done at SST!! Try flipping tires(heavy), using the sledge hammer, pulling sleds(heavy) for your cardio day. It is all safe.

I told my dad that i was going into town everyday to work out at a gym, he canceled my membership and made me chop down some 75year old trees and split them, stack em. Obviously chopping wood doesnt work out everything but it will surely kick your ass throwing down a 50lbs axe thousands of times. And old axeman were huge brutes.

  • It is not crossfit. There programs are periodized. The things you may think are crossfit exercises are actually there cardio workouts. You will not see a bike, treadmill or any other piece of linear cardio equipment. The bottom line is that all of their clients/athletes get results!
