I don't believe your last statement is accurate either, and if it was, well lasers don't go through walls. Microwaves can't be collimated tightly like lasers. They can easily be blocked or deflected with a $2 cookie sheet, something those who claim this always refuse to try.

Note the Wired article also states though there is a patent and it is theoretically feasible in a laboratory, NO PRACTICAL USE was ever developed with it, and my rudimentary experience with RF energy working on radar on aircraft in the Navy lead me to believe most claims of V2K are impossible as described. Attentuation, reflection and backscattered propagation would leave the subject hearing only gibberish.
