hola bro!! estoy por hacer esto con mis cuerdas, pero no entendi la parte de la duracion del tiempo entre el agua hirviendo y helada... primero 3min en agua hirviendo, luego 30seg en agua helada luego 3min otra vez en agua hirviendo otros 30 seg y repito esos 3min - 30 seg... que va de ultimo? el agua helada o la hirviendo?? saludos!!!

Soy de Costa Rica pero si hablo espanoL y de vez en cuando escucho musica mexicana, tiene razon voy a tenerlo en cuenta deberia haber una opcion para los youtuberos de cambiar el idioma en el audio asi poder escoger , sin embargo lo escribi tambien en espanol fijate en los detelles de la descripcion del video.

es para evitar la friccion de las cuerdas cada vez que se afinan en los surcos pero si tiene un instrumento de buena calidad quizas no haga falta ese procedimiento.

miira se supone que cuando pasas las cuerdas por el hueso de arriba se raspa entonces el grafito lo hace resbala para que no se t desgaste

Tengo 2 dudas:

1.- ¿No se oxidan?

2.- ¿No afecta el hecho de cambiarlas de temperatura en un lapso de tiempo tan corto?

si las lave y me dejo un sonido d pk madre jajaja como l d frank bello d anthrax pero me duro muy poco el gusto, digamos casi 2 semanas, pero esta bueno el tip intentenlo! yo las tuve que lavar mas de una vez, y NO QUITEN TODAS LAS CUERDAS, haganlo de 2 en 2 o de 1a en 1a, pero me han durado limpias casi 3 semanas y de hecho hoy lo intentare de nuevo

Pretty cool idea, although you should really strap some spare strings on the bass while tempering the good strings you want to clean so your neck doesn't warp.

I think you are literally tempering the metal and the brighter sound is coming from the sharper elasticity in the metal which is carried well by the pickups.

interezante video ya uqe llevo buscando un buen metodo, tambien he encontrado dejarlas metida en un envase lleno de alcohol desnaturalizado por 12-24 horas, pero no se, ahora mi pregunta es cuanto tiempo dejo metida las cuerdas?

las cuerdas recobran su brillo pero la duracion de este difiere de la calidad de cuerdas que puedas conseguir, visita a un experto porque podria ser que le falte calibracion o cambiarle el puente , un mal ajuste o un golpe puede hacer que cambie el sonido del instrumento.

es que me refiero, por ejemplo, mi bajo estaba pandeado y lo arregle, pero las cuerdas ya no suenan igual, ya no se quedan sonando como antes, parece como si las palmutearan, amm y no se por que haya sido, alguien puede ayudarme?

eso puede provocar oxido en las cuerdas, ademas, exponerlas esos cambios de temperatura, especialmente calentarla tanto, puede provocar que se destemple el acero y se corten ocnmayor facilidad.

Eso es muy relativo, la calidad de las cuerdas, antiguedad, por ejemplo me han durado mas de un año sin comprar nuevas.

i always boiled my strings, lately i've been putting them in tap water after boiling and the tempering of the steel because of the temprature shock actually makes them brighter. Now i'll try to do it with ice, thank's for the tip! And for those who say it rusts, think about what your acid sweat from your hands do! It´s stainless steel, you just have to dry them out after water.

just leave you strings in an acetone bath 4 about a night. (optionally, for playing comfort, you can use som WD40 rust spray onto the strings after the bath) It lasts for about a month, and causes almost no damage to the string.

doesnt tha acetone make the strigs darker? In visual, not in sound. Once i tried with water and a little of sulphuric acid (crazy) and i burnt them. They looked like they have been pulled from a fire!

I just did this, and it worked great!!!

the key is don't leave the strings in the hot water for more then 30 secs, and repeat the process like 6 times, it worked perfectly.
