Yes, he did whiten his skin but it's only when the white spots (due to vitiligo he's suffering) spreaded throughout his body and replaced his black skin. He's openly admitted that he's had quote " a couple of surgeries" if you watch the full interview he had with oprah...If you look at MJ's dad's skeletal structure now that he's old, you can obviously see that MJ's cheekbones became more prominent naturally and not from a surgery. Hydroquinine could never produce the transparency Michael's skin exhibits. You could sit in a tub of it for 5 years and you still wouldn't achieve the texture and colour of Mj's skin. The man had vitiligo. He also had body dsymorphic issues, due to his childhood, and the extreme public exposure he experienced. He did not want to 'be' white. You are right vitiligo is a very real disease, I have known many people with this disorder. when the white blotches cover more than 50% of the person skin, the dermatologist has to give something to the patient to even his or her skin. But there is no such thing a skin bleaching

There are also pills that ppl can take that will block future melanin production as long as they are taken. When stopped, pigment comes back. my belief is that michael was REALLY self-conscious...he grew up in the public eyesight...he didnt like the size of his nose, so he had plastic surgery to change it...he may very well had that skin disorder( which i do believe he had)...and in order to correct it permanently, he did lighten his skin...he didnt want blotches all over his face and body for everbody to see...its just that he lighten his skin for THAT, not because he wanted to BE white...smh...

Yes, he did whiten his skin but it's only when the white spots (due to vitiligo he's suffering) spreaded throughout his body and replaced his black skin. This process called depigmentation just to make the skin tone more even. If I were him, I'd choose to whiten too.. although I hate having white skin (sorry if this sound racist).

Vitiligo happens in patches not all over the entire body. at one point michael jackson had a tan flawless complexion like when he tore his shirt off in the dirty diana video. Vitiligo does not gradually fade your skin with flawless even skin tone.

He's openly admitted that he's had quote " a couple of surgeries" if you watch the full interview he had with oprah...If you look at MJ's dad's skeletal structure now that he's old, you can obviously see that MJ's cheekbones became more prominent naturally and not from a surgery. He's said that he hasn't had chin/cheek job. Botox is obvious in MJs recent years but I believe him when he says he didn't go and get chin/cheek surgery...

Plus the fact is that MJ had lupus, which could very well have done some physical damage to his face. That would be classified as corrective surgery, not plastic surgery.

And, while no one seems to have ever heard of skin bleaching in this interview, Sammy Sosa is actively doing it and said he uses a cream to accomplish it.
One thing I never hear is this: Maybe Michael's skin was botchy as result of trying to lighten his skin.

He only offered to pay the Chandlers some money because he was on tour and had hundred of millions of dollars to lose. He didn't want it to string out for 7 yrs. If he wouldn't of a been on tour he would of a taken their butts to court. And they would of a lost big time just like the Arvizo's. Now ppl think that makes him guilty. NOT! NOT! NOT! Oh right you're tallking about Jordie Chandler...perhaps you should do some research...Mr. Chandler (Jordie's Father) threatened to go to the media if Micheal didn't pay him 20 million dollars...the media, not the police...I mean honestly if you were the parent of a molested child wouldn't you want the bastard in jail? You are right vitiligo is a very real disease, I have known many people with this disorder. when the white blotches cover more than 50% of the person skin, the dermatologist has to give something to the patient to even his or her skin. But there is no such thing a skin bleaching
My mom has a friend that has vitiligo, and she told me that when her friend was younger she had a darker complexion.
So I am 100% with that Michael Jackson had vitiligo

Yes vitiligo is a very real skin disorder, but there IS such a thing as bleaching the skin! Go to WalMart and the products are right there, such as Porcelana. Products w/hydroquinine. There are also pills that ppl can take that will block future melanin production as long as they are taken. When stopped, pigment comes back. Why do you think LaToya became as white as Michael, but then she went back to her original tone?

hydroquinine it is the component which dermatologist use to withen the skin of vitiligo patients, but is not really a bleach component is a type of phenol susbstance, is considered a skin whitener.
You can go to Wikipedia and read about it.
Bleach is very toxic and I doubt that is used on the skin.
I am an allergist, but I have many friend who are dermatologist.

Oprah is not a bitch. She actually did a fair interview with Michael. If you haven't seen the entire interview then you need to. She was just trying to give Michael the opportunity to answer some of the questions and dispel some of the rumors to show the real man underneath.
I think her and Geraldo are the only two that actually interviewed him with no bias and let him speak for a change.

what I don't understand is that why would people even care about this? What difference does it make? He would still be such a great artist, he would still make great music. People can be so blind and dumb. So many people wondered if he was a virgin, WHY WOULD WE CARE? In this industry everything private becomes our just because they're famous, but this is not normal.

I have Vitiligo on my arms and my sister has it on her face and arms. We are black women. It is a true disorder if people want to believe it or not. My sister covers her with make up and i just wear long sleeves. Thats why this world is the way it is now. Why you have to judge people. If you dont like how he look then dont look at him.
