I heard today, that the CEO of GM wants the Federal Government to tax our fuel $1.00 per gallon more (I believe, Federal & State taxes are already getting 48 cents per gallon). He thinks by doing that, people will be "encouraged" to buy their fuel efficient cars.

An initial public offering for Chrysler is also possible, but Marchionne said this week the timing and possibility of an IPO would depend on the level of interest of the healthcare trust affiliated with the UAW.
Chrysler filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009 after the credit crunch and recession pummeled auto sales. June 10 will mark the two-year anniversary of Chrysler's emergence from bankruptcy under the management of Fiat.
As the two companies deepen their financial ties, they are also drawing closer together operationally. Earlier this year, Marchionne left open the possibility of a full merger of the two companies with a single headquarters.
Before Thursday's announcement, Fiat held a 46 percent interest in Chrysler. That will rise to 52 percent when the transaction is completed and thus give the Italian automaker majority control, which was one of Fiat Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne's overarching goals for 2011.
Fiat has made swift work toward that goal in the past six months after meeting certain performance targets and repaying its $7.6 billion in loans owed to the United States and Canada last week.

@Metool2 I think you should read Bob Woodward's book "Obama's Wars". He clearly lays out how Obama completely changed the Afghanistan/Pakistan strategy by finally treating it as an actual war we are trying to win. It is completely because of Obama's policies that we caught Osama.

No... it was because Obama got the info needed that was received from interrogations at Gitmo (which he was against, and Bush was for) that helped catch Bin Laden.
Obama probably knew where Bin Laden was for awhile, but didn't take advantage of it until after he started his campaigning and when he needed a boost in the polls. Fortunately, people saw right through this, because his polls numbers are back down.

You made the UAW take a haircut but not the Wall Street bankers and bondholders. Chrysler filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009 after the credit crunch and recession pummeled auto sales. June 10 will mark the two-year anniversary of Chrysler's emergence from bankruptcy under the management of Fiat.

Before Thursday's announcement, Fiat held a 46 percent interest in Chrysler. That will rise to 52 percent when the transaction is completed and thus give the Italian automaker majority control, which was one of Fiat Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne's overarching goals for 2011.
Fiat has made swift work toward that goal in the past six months after meeting certain performance targets and repaying its $7.6 billion in loans owed to the United States and Canada last week.
