Yeah, it is a full 24 hour race! You can do it in B-Spec mode at 3x speed if you want (8 hours). Unfortunately I haven't played the game for a while so I can't remember the best tyres for your race. My advice would be try out some different tyres on the track and see which ones give you the best performance/durability trade-off. See what laps your rivals pit on and then try to find a tyre that matches that durability. Sorry not to be of more help. Ben

Good luck! You'll get best results if you train up your B-Spec driver by putting him in different types of races, tracks and cars. I love the endurance races! This 24 hour race was awesome fun! I did about 16 hours in a few shifts and my B-Spec driver did the other 8.
yea ive gotten some help on b-spec points thnx to some FAQS my driver got skill level at 5024 now its jus a matter of tuning the rides to be idiot-proof for the AI so it dont mess up and be able to overtake when i want it to
I can't actually remember but I think it might have been every 7 laps or so. They are long laps! Whatever it was it was about the same as the cars I was competing against.

It's pretty full-on but worth the effort. My ears were ringing from the engine noise for some time afterwards! The prize is lots of credits and the F1 car. It is amazing, though a bit fast for some of the tracks. There is a reason that F1 stopped using the old Nürburgring!
It would be sick if in GT5 you could trade off stints with a friend online and still get full Aspec points.
I just started a new game in GT4, and once I open up the endurances again I'm going to try and do the full race Aspec in under 26 hours, only pausing to eat and use the bathroom.
me, knut and my buddy and co-driver, kai did this race together but had to pause at 18hours and sleep some, will do it again though without pausing, with a better co-driver lol.
we won with the mercedes evo 16 92.
laptimes from 6:24 to 10mins..., average 7mins with pit. superhard back and hard front tyres. had to pit every 3.lap.
--my laprec is 6:11.360 with the same car on soft tyres btw.-- when 24 hours had passed we clocked 193 laps and the car in second place was less than 6 mins behind!
it was a alfa romeo 155 2.5 v6. after 57 laps we had 1.place for the first time in the race, and the leading car at the moment was the vauxall calibra supertouring, the calibra was in 1 for like 80% of the time but came 3, only seconds after the alfa.

I'd say either your B-Spec driver isn't very good at conserving the tyres or the Zonda is too hard on them. Pretty sure I only had to pit about every twelve laps in the Mercedes Touring Car (about the same as the opponents).
well here is the thing the tires were still good after 1 lap but then before another they would be dark red so i had to change them every lap-medium tires-usually use hard-check out my video i finished
im doing this race right now i started at 11:47 so im 4 hours 14 mins. into the race and second place is -2 laps im doing it with a pugani zonda lm race car its great
You have to train him by getting him to drive different cars, different circuits and in different events. I think his ability is based on three separate scores and these will gradually go up as he gets more experience. It takes quite a lot of time to get him to a reasonable level though.
Can you pause and continue later on a 24h race? Like when your doing a tourny... you can get out of it and continue later? Because I don't see how it's possible to race with your eyes glued to the screen for 24 hours.. and I don't feel like leaving my PS3 on that long, or even longer if i want a rest.
You can pause it but you can't save it to continue later. That's part of the challenge! I shared the driving with my B-Spec driver which gave me some time to rest.
Is there a way in B-spec mode to always keep the race going 3x speed even though the pit stops, so you dont have to keep turning the race back on to 3x speed?
omg that was so not worth the 24 hours i got the car and it sucks i can only get the thing to 220 mph. im regreting doing the race if anyone can tell me how to make it go faster plz message me.
I'm not sure, I never got that car but I'm not sure if it is the best car for this track. Take a look at the types of cars the other drivers are using.
The prize is the F1 car. I didn't much like it as I found it too hard to drive on a lot of the tracks that I like most. It has pretty amazing performance though. The only other way to get it is to finish 50% (or more?) of the game.
I can't really remember as it was quite a while ago now! I don't think there were any though (other than tuning). I wanted the car to be competitive so didn't want to over-mod it.
I did practically every event in the except for like a few. I found that both the 24h nurburguring and 24h sathre the best. Sathre done without B-spec (paused every few hours) and won like by a few laps. The other one was my first 24h event. Man it was fun, did it with Nissan R92CP Group-c le mans car. Won that by over 40-60 some laps i forget, lucky winning by like a minute, id just about strangle myself if i lost. 10/10
i am at the moment doing the 1000 miles endurance race point being the monaco race and really enjoyable for me. The car being used is the 300SL Benzo. What I tend to do in respect of the PS2 is press the eject the loading tray and the game just continues playing albeit without the music. In that way I save on wear and tear that the laser would otherwise endure. I have always done that on the longer races unless I am in the mood for listening to some daiki kasho! : )

I was able to complete the 24h Nurburgring Endurance race. I started the game at 6 a.m and finished it at 4:30 p.m. Obviously in B-Spec Mode. My Playstation 2 survived! I used the Chapparal 2J.
with tuning or without and if yes what tuning because i dont want to play all the time but the most in a-spec and the b-spec shouldnt be an idiot driver^^
Yes, by just over a minute! I purposely chose a car that would result in close racing. At one point I left my B-Spec driver for a couple of hours and he crashed at the pit entry just before the handover and had to go around for another whole lap on worn tyres! I managed to get him to nurse the car back and then had to make up heaps of time but managed to put in some good laps.

I thought it was great fun and had to be done at least once! If you're using B-Spec you can speed it up 1, 2 or 3 times if you want so you can do it in eight hours minimum.
you can get the formula gt & play the endurance races but the only problem i played nurburgring 24 hours b-spec i wake up the next day to find the shit car make me be 3rd place.
It is the Logitech Driving Force steering wheel. It is an excellent wheel with force-feedback, paddles on the wheel for gear changing and separate brake and accelerator peddals. It got pretty hot during the race but I didn't have any trouble with it.

When u go to B-Spec mode u need to speed up the race time, so u can finish the race in about 9h (real time).
U can do this by pressing R1 to open the information panel and then press L1 + Right to increase the race time. You'll note the time is going faster.
IMPORTANT: the car will come to the pit automatically but the race time will also come to normal. If u want to reduce the REAL race time to 9h u'll have to be monitoring the race.
i have beat all endurance events on gt4!!!!! in b spec. i dont believe you play 24 HOURS !!!!.......... because if you stop on the pit you can choose de option b spec -- a spec--- .........
Sadly no. That is one of the dissapointments of the game. Night racing would be awesome! I wonder if they will add this if/when they bring out a version for PS3.
It's a good screen for games, having the wide-screen is good although I don't think it has a particularly quick refresh rate. Bummer about GT4 not running anymore. I had it going for just over 24 hours but didn't have any troubles with the game or console. I would have been spewing if it crashed halfway through!
in my opinion the best car for this race is the Jaguar XJ220 fully tuned because you can just b-spec it and then voila! you have an polyphony digital F1 car.
Do not use the mercedes benz CLK-GTR just because you can tune it to over 1000hp you will lose on b-spec i waited 14hrs when i turned the tv back to the game i was in 6th place lapped like 4 times with like 30 min left
It depends whether you're racing to win or for the challenge and fun of it. I was doing the latter so wanted a competetive car for a close race. My B-Spec driver wasn't as good as me so he would lose time against the opponents and I would make time against them. I ended up winning by only a minute or two! I haven't really played the game since I did this race as it doesn't get any better than 24 hours at the Nürburgring Nordschleife IMO!!!
i just wanted the f1 car so bad so i just had to do it and it ended up taking like 17hrs cause i kept leaving and it just goes back to normal speed when you pit stop
Yeah, I know lots of people just do the race for the F1 car. I found the F1 car really hard to drive and didn't play the game much after I did this race (I had got all my licenses, finished all the challenges and stuff anyway). The F1 car gets out of shape so easily. Maybe I just needed to practice more but I like tracks like the Nürburgring and it wasn't designed with F1 cars in mind!
th f1 car has got too much power and its too twitchy. it has 904 bhp but there is a jaguar that you can win which has 928 bhp and it is also more manageable.
The best cars to make the Nurburgring 24h race are the Deutsch Touring Cars. The best ones for me are: Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car, Audi A4 Touring Car, ABT Audi TT-R Touring Car and Opel Astra Touring Car. You can also use the BMW M3 GTR Race Car.
All these cars have more then 450 hp when u buy them.
Before using the car don't forget to change the oil and to wash. This makes u win power in the car. The Audi TT for example goes from 470 to 494 hp.
It wasn't a problem for me. I did it in real-time so it was on for the full 24 hours. My steering wheel got pretty hot but fortunately it didn't break either!
Yes you do have to race for 24 hours although if you use your B-Spec driver you can speed it up 3 times and do it in 8 hours. I shared the driving with my B-Spec driver and did in realtime.
I was in the middle of this last night and I got tired at around midnight. Then the next day I come down to continue, I find my PS2 turned off, my dad turned it off in the middle of the race, I was so pissed.
@iEatYourSandviches But it's a 24 hour race so you race until the 24 hours is up, not for a certain number of laps!

No, you have to leave the PlayStation on for the entire race, you can pause but you can't save or turn it off.

Yeah, it's 24 hours or you can do it B-Spec in 8 hours. I did the whole 24 hours and the PlayStation got hot but it wasn't a problem.

You have to train him by getting him to drive different cars, different circuits and in different events. I think his ability is based on three separate scores and these will gradually go up as he gets more experience. It takes quite a lot of time to get him to a reasonable level though.

Can you pause and continue later on a 24h race? Like when your doing a tourny... you can get out of it and continue later? Because I don't see how it's possible to race with your eyes glued to the screen for 24 hours.. and I don't feel like leaving my PS3 on that long, or even longer if i want a rest.

You can pause it but you can't save it to continue later. That's part of the challenge! I shared the driving with my B-Spec driver which gave me some time to rest.

Unfortunately you have to set it back to 3x speed after every pit-stop. From memory it is necessary to pit about every hour to hour and a half.

The prize is the F1 car. I didn't much like it as I found it too hard to drive on a lot of the tracks that I like most. It has pretty amazing performance though. The only other way to get it is to finish 50% (or more?) of the game.

Yep! If you do it in B-Spec mode you can speed it up to only 8 hours but I did it in realtime.

I did practically every event in the except for like a few. I found that both the 24h nurburguring and 24h sathre the best. Sathre done without B-spec (paused every few hours) and won like by a few laps. The other one was my first 24h event. Man it was fun, did it with Nissan R92CP Group-c le mans car. Won that by over 40-60 some laps i forget, lucky winning by like a minute, id just about strangle myself if i lost. 10/10

i am at the moment doing the 1000 miles endurance race point being the monaco race and really enjoyable for me. The car being used is the 300SL Benzo. What I tend to do in respect of the PS2 is press the eject the loading tray and the game just continues playing albeit without the music. In that way I save on wear and tear that the laser would otherwise endure. I have always done that on the longer races unless I am in the mood for listening to some daiki kasho! : )

I was able to complete the 24h Nurburgring Endurance race. I started the game at 6 a.m and finished it at 4:30 p.m. Obviously in B-Spec Mode. My Playstation 2 survived! I used the Chapparal 2J.

Yes, by just over a minute! I purposely chose a car that would result in close racing. At one point I left my B-Spec driver for a couple of hours and he crashed at the pit entry just before the handover and had to go around for another whole lap on worn tyres! I managed to get him to nurse the car back and then had to make up heaps of time but managed to put in some good laps.

I thought it was great fun and had to be done at least once! If you're using B-Spec you can speed it up 1, 2 or 3 times if you want so you can do it in eight hours minimum.

It is the Logitech Driving Force steering wheel. It is an excellent wheel with force-feedback, paddles on the wheel for gear changing and separate brake and accelerator peddals. It got pretty hot during the race but I didn't have any trouble with it.

When u go to B-Spec mode u need to speed up the race time, so u can finish the race in about 9h (real time).
U can do this by pressing R1 to open the information panel and then press L1 + Right to increase the race time. You'll note the time is going faster.
IMPORTANT: the car will come to the pit automatically but the race time will also come to normal. If u want to reduce the REAL race time to 9h u'll have to be monitoring the race.

Yes it is, the race finishes when you cross the line after 24 hours. You can speed it up by up to three times if you use your B-Spec driver.

It's a good screen for games, having the wide-screen is good although I don't think it has a particularly quick refresh rate. Bummer about GT4 not running anymore. I had it going for just over 24 hours but didn't have any troubles with the game or console. I would have been spewing if it crashed halfway through!

in my opinion the best car for this race is the Jaguar XJ220 fully tuned because you can just b-spec it and then voila! you have an polyphony digital F1 car.
Do not use the mercedes benz CLK-GTR just because you can tune it to over 1000hp you will lose on b-spec i waited 14hrs when i turned the tv back to the game i was in 6th place lapped like 4 times with like 30 min left

It depends whether you're racing to win or for the challenge and fun of it. I was doing the latter so wanted a competetive car for a close race. My B-Spec driver wasn't as good as me so he would lose time against the opponents and I would make time against them. I ended up winning by only a minute or two! I haven't really played the game since I did this race as it doesn't get any better than 24 hours at the Nürburgring Nordschleife IMO!!!

Yeah, I know lots of people just do the race for the F1 car. I found the F1 car really hard to drive and didn't play the game much after I did this race (I had got all my licenses, finished all the challenges and stuff anyway). The F1 car gets out of shape so easily. Maybe I just needed to practice more but I like tracks like the Nürburgring and it wasn't designed with F1 cars in mind!

th f1 car has got too much power and its too twitchy. it has 904 bhp but there is a jaguar that you can win which has 928 bhp and it is also more manageable.

The best cars to make the Nurburgring 24h race are the Deutsch Touring Cars. The best ones for me are: Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car, Audi A4 Touring Car, ABT Audi TT-R Touring Car and Opel Astra Touring Car. You can also use the BMW M3 GTR Race Car.
All these cars have more then 450 hp when u buy them.
Before using the car don't forget to change the oil and to wash. This makes u win power in the car. The Audi TT for example goes from 470 to 494 hp.

It wasn't a problem for me. I did it in real-time so it was on for the full 24 hours. My steering wheel got pretty hot but fortunately it didn't break either!
