  • A rare case of the Amiga actually being used for a port

  • What keeps happening to the music? It occasionally sounds like vinyl that someone left out in the sun for too long.

  • 00:20 deamon: prepare to get COCKED BLOCKED!!

  • "Congratulations Arthur. But our princess is in another demon castle".

    Arthur: "DOH!"

  • where his hoe be at?

  • is there anychance of sending my the whole amiga emulator and games package to azzshaw2003@yahoo.co.uk as i can not get this anywhere...Many thanks Aaron

  • @azshaw123

    Google winuae :)

  • So, you have the high score, yet the Top Score remains at 10,000 throughout the game?!>?? lol

  • 00:53 the spear goes right through the zombie.

  • How come that they did not use the C64 tune instead? It was SO. SO much better...

  • @andersbiro not really.

  • @thorgallpl I think it was quite spooky and innovative sound while this is rather standard background music.

  • @andersbiro Well then it wouldn't be a arcade perfect port which is awesome but it would be cool if that track was selective with a cheat or such.

  • Where do i downloade this

Plzz help me I really want this game and this version of it, very important to me

  • So its an emulator?..Pathetic

  • great conversion but even the nes version showed the girl at the end. what a piece of shit ending.

  • one of the most known games, there was a similar game "horror zombies from the crypt" cubex u should tube it ;D

  • Best conversion of the game, until capcom ported it to PS and Saturn.

  • @EricBarbman But the amiga version is even Better than the arcade !

  • @janmansde3dede Yep because you can actually make it to the final boss.

  • In capital letters so most people notices :P :

THE REASON WHY THE SOUND IS GOING UP AND DOWN IN THE SPEED AND STUFF IS BECAUSE A CERTAIN VERSION OF THE EMULATOR BACK THEN HAD THIS BUG WHENEVER YOU QUICKLOADED A SAVESTATE.

I myself used an older version so my movies back then didn't have this glitch :P... seems like most recorders with this glitch in their movies didn't have the ear to notice it or something.

  • the biginging music sounded out of tune.

does Winuae messup the recording sound some times.

  • the best conversin for home computer of ever

  • is it just me or does the music at 00:23 sound out order???

  • 0:19 hmmm...

  • this game used to scare the living hell out of me wen i first played it as a kid :p

  • The music seems to be bugged a bit. Otherwise damned fine conversion from arcade hardware of its time.

  • Ghosts 'n Goblins has a much better music on amiga than the version had at the arcade. But I love this game on every system. Surely on my list of TOP 10 games of all time!

  • it seems like there sometimes is power failure to the music player (like it did when my walkman battery was out)

  • Ghosts 'n' Goblins Amiga is a straight port of the coin-op machine. The GFX were lifted straight from the roms. Adn yes 1 mb to get the music + sound :)

  • So many fab versions of this game. I first played it on C64, then on Amiga which was better and more challenging, then the original on an arcade emulator. The latest one I have is Ultimate GnG on the PSP, haven't beat it yet! Oh, the sequel Ghouls 'n Ghosts is great, too.

  • Uh... they got something wrong with the BGM... it seems to loop at all the wrong places, erratically.

  • 1.57

    Plonker

  • This is a pretty good conversion, but I think the Amiga could have done better. I think they developed for the lower common denominator, being the Atari ST. Nevertheless, it is a good port with decent sound and graphics and just as hard as the arcade version!

  • funky music...arcade is better

  • Yeaaaah, this was a great conversion!

The only major problem was that you couldn't turn to face the opposite direction when jumping, which you could do in the arcade 'n was dead useful for shooting stuff behind you!

Arcade is still in my top 5 game of all time =)

  • Quite a good conversion!! very close to the arcade version!

  • did Capcom help Elite port ?

    Amiga Ghosts n Goblins

  • Bad port, music just isn't right(no, I don't mean the artifacts and false notes due to the way this is recorded) and game is way, way to easy. The arcade version just kicked your ass all over the place. Even the C64 version was better, and had some kickass music to boot :D

  • the music is kind of 'lazy' :*)

  • Double dragon could have ben butwasnt arcade perfect, this game is close, except the colors are different.

  • Well, it's not bad given they're only using 32 simultaneous colors (though I think it could do 64 using the half-brite mode).

Plus with a few other missing sound effects, it detracts a little more. Otherwise it's one of THE best Capcom conversions on the system (if not THE absolute best).

  • First of all, there is no easy way to compare colors when it comes to "bitplane graphics" VS "tile based graphics", they are fundamental different. (almost no arcade game can show more than 16 colors per tile)

Secondly, the Amiga has a copper chip, which makes it possible to have hundreds of colors on screen at once (Jim Power > 300 colors, Lion heart > 200 colors)

The Amiga wasn´t limited to just 32 colors in any way.

Many Amiga games uses 32 color sprites, which isn´t possible even on SNES

  • i luv dis gain! ))

  • pff, the demons bosses of the level 6 are too weak...5 shots and die? naaaa...these part is the hardest part of the game and here is too easy

  • Amiga Ghosts n Goblins is a better version vs Ghouls n Ghosts versions because the graphics look better than the arcade game

  • Amiga Double Dragon II is an excellent port

it looks & sounds like the arcade version

  • Good conversion but faaaar too easy to beat compared to the original arcade. The bosses in the 5th and 6th level were ridiculously easy and 8 lives? come on..

  • Agreed. This looks way to easy.

  • Very faithfull conversion... only bettered by the Arcade and Snes versions.

  • Amiga 2000 512 KB memory

  • Amiga 500 Ghosts n Goblins down side

1 MB memory required if you want music

    standard configuration 512 Kilobytes

  • damn this game didn't waste time with the story arthur got mad at the devil cause he was already in his shorts for the lady

  • It's completely slow compared to the arcade original.

  • how did amiga have such amazing graphics for the 80s?! this is like the arcade!

  • No suprise amiga 500 could handle a close to arcade perfect port.

  • That's true. I got the DOS version... :-p

  • CPU : M6809 @ 1.5 MHz

    Sound CPU : Z80 @ 3 MHz

    Sprites 128

    Sound

    ADPCM

  • Sharp X68000 hardware

    similar to arcade games

  • Ghosts n Goblins

    Sharp X68000

    best computer version

    computer only released in Japan

  • Too bad double dragon wasn't arcade perfect, amiga 500 could easily handle aarcade perfect conversion, i seen it do much better graphics than double dragon.

  • A lot of good arcade games got screwed up when it came to porting them to the Amiga. Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles left me gutted. As did Double Dragon 1 & 2 which were also badly ported. However, games like Rodland, Rainbow Islands, Operation Wolf, Midnight Resistance, Pang and R-Type II were almost perfect ports.

  • I played the arcade version on ps1 capcom generations that is as good graphics as the arcade, they did a good job, sega 32x afterburner was very good much closer to the arcade than the genisis version.

  • best conversion for a home computer system

its very close to the original

  • The US version did away with the crosses on account of different religious issues.

  • cubex55 in the grey window

good old Ghosts n Goblins C64

    Amiga Ghosts n Goblins

  • Amiga Commando video

  • wow i actually still own this game for my amiga

  • Ghosts n Goblins best version

    Capcom Classic Collection

    PS2, PSP, Xbox

  • Much better than the bug-ridden and shortened C64 version (which had a unique and different music though).

  • Amiga Ghouls n Ghosts is of arcade quality graphics and sound are superb (better music than Ghosts n Goblins)

Atari ST Ghouls n Ghosts is an excellent version stunning graphics & impressive sound

  • Best GnG conversion ever! (excluding todays emulators...)

About the cross/shield: the japanese version has a cross but the american (and world) version the same weapon as a shield. They have the same effect and the only diference is the sprite.

    Great game thou!

  • Apart from the odd sound effect missing and minor differences I'd agree. This was an incredible conversion and much better than US Gold's Ghouls N' Ghosts port. Shame it came out so late.

  • ugh sounds bad compare to originals all right.

  • When you look at the time it fluctuates.

  • the game tap version is WAY harder than this!

  • Look how little Arthur's legs are!

  • bensons999 to answer your question i can confirm that the cross, wasnt end weapon it was a shield,i played the arcade machine myself as a kid,if you want to play the original version then buy the capcom classics thing, that version is 100 % original, you can also hear the music isnt exactly the original theme close but not the same.

  • You cheated though, it's nice to see a full run though.

  • You idiots. The guy used save states. You can see him stop and the music emulation mess up.

  • Wow! You finished the game without losing a single life in 20 mins. You have mastered that game. You remind me when i was calling my friends at home to watch me finishing "Operation Wolf" on my CPC6128. At first nobody believed that i could do it until they saw it with their own eyes.

    Nice job dude !!!

  • does anyone remember the sat morn cartoon based on this? it was before capt. n... graveyard high???

  • impressive how you went through the game, but as a fan of the original i must say dissapointed about the cross weapon,in original version it was a shield but good work tho.

  • Are you sure about that? I read that the ORIGINAL end weapon WAS the crucafix, but then had to be changed at the last minute before the arcade landed on western soil.

  • Mark Cooksey did a bad job Ghosts n Goblins Atari ST version it's got weak audio (music and sound effects)

  • every game on the atari st has weak music and effects, even game play suffers, and that's because everything is ported over from the amiga so the st get's sloppy seconds.

  • Amiga Ghosts n Goblins no music unless Amiga computer was equipped with 1 Megabyte of RAM standard configuration of Amiga 500 was 512 Kilobytes (9.5 MB max) Amiga 600 has 1 Megabyte (6 MB max)

  • I hated the C64 Version of Ghosts 'n Goblins cause it's hard as nails, so the Amiga version is better, and the ending, what the crap, where's the princess you're supposed to save and get smooched by? I though Elite did more effort in the Amiga version.

  • are yo kidding? the c64 version was easy compared to the speccy

  • I really hated this game because it too fucking difficult, you have to be a japanese virgin just to complete the first level.

  • What's up with the music going way outta' tune when sometimes when you get hit or hit something? Is it the emulator or did the Amiga do this normally. . . . It's funny anyway.

  • WOW...Man I have to tell you. Great skills you have. Incredible....Gongratilations 10* I always loved this game from the 1st time I saw it. Amiga games were the best and still are in my heart!

  • Wonderful version. Iremember de playability was very hard. But NES version is the worst playability ever for this conversion. Very impressive this game on Amiga. The sound is very decent - different than C64´s version, that has original terrible sound.

  • Oh my good-bannany! I'm an old school gamer & love your collection!

  • This game was fucking impossible...

  • Your skill was pretty impressive especially at the parts where you ducked at exactly the right time and place to avoid the fire ball and kamakize attack of those damned red devils. Personally, I think this game is more frustrating than challenging as many of the deaths are caused by randomness compounded by restrictive jump controls.

  • people think super ghouls and ghost was hard ???? this is one hard game to beat

  • it´s for Amiga 500. Not c64.

  • Played this when i was about 12 and could never get half way through the first level.

  • This game is lovely.Since the first i see this game i've always known it's gonna be a classic

  • It looks like the original version. Good!
