@chrysallis161190 The Family Tree: The Roots is a concept, just like his previous album Ghost. This album in particular tells the tale of several generations of a fictitious family. This song for me recalls the tale of a familial (fraternal, really) relationship falling apart narrated by the committed half of the pair.

The opening line "we were tightknit boys, brothers in more than name" as well as others suggests that the song is about two brothers and one moving on and away from the other.

Hmm. I like it, but I want to love it. However, it is unfortunately similar melodically to many of their other songs. Especially the intro. Perhaps this is intentional, but I prefer a bit more variety. I'll keep digging through their repertoire and see I just got unlucky and picked a bunch of similar songs of theirs. We'll see.

Ben has knocked another one out of today's music industry park. I love how he keeps taking you to new places in his songs. Just when your moved he changes it up and awes you again. Ben Cooper is the best music discovery I've ever made. I just hope he'll continue making music (under Radical Face, Electric Presidents, or whomever) and that he gets his much deserved recognition.
