  • i was working in the controll booth when that happened

  • My question, is why is Justin and bieber tagged in this video???

  • @TheTymoney1 more veiws

  • dumb question but what do they say when someone asked why was it closed i know retarded question

  • @supercazunethan No, not retarded at all. I am sure that they say something along the lines of it being a technical issue. My friends and I were stuck atop a rollercoaster at Cannobie Lake Amusement Park in NH for several minutes years ago and had to be escorted down a ladder attached along the side. It happens, but thankfully death is infrequent and most causes are because of folks being stupid.

As for myself, being terrified of heights, it was an experience I never wish to repeat!!

  • Look at my horse. My horse is amazing!

  • i feel bad for this guy and his family.

  • Oh my god.. THIS is why they had that there? I remember that horse and carrige and wall.. :( I feel so lost now.

  • Oh theres a horsie...OMG A DEAD BODY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm confused?

  • @infaMOUSEproject What did you expect them to do? Not put a wall around so people can see wrecked trains and blood? No. Disney did the right thing in putting up a wall. They wanted people to enjoy their time and merely assume that it was being refurbished instead of asking questions.

  • Little Girl: Mommy why are there people on stretchers at Disney World?

    Mom: I don't know sweetheart!

Little Girl: I thought that this is where dreams come true! Did they wish to be on stretchers?

Mom: (Hears some commotion and sees the person on the stretcher all dismantled) Oh look at the horsey sweetheart!

  • @AdyP828 Mom: Thats part of the ride, sweetie!

  • HOLY SHIT A DEAD 22 YEAR OLD MARCELLO TOREZ ON A STRETCHE- Oh Look, a Horsie!

  • i think it would be kinda nice to know the story.... like... what the hell is everyone talking about and when did it take place?

  • Dont mind the people freaking out and being carried away on stretchers. It's all part of Disneyland. Now, look at the horsie and some history.

  • Wow,I went to Disneyland the same week this guy died!

  • I was actually there with my daughter when it happened she kept asking why some people were being carried away on stretchers when we were going through the park.... Didnt know until we got back to our hotel

  • i think the front wheel on the locomotive broke and derailed the whole train, it wasn,t the trains fault, it was poor maintenance of the ride.

  • what happened? i don't get this video. i heard someone was decapitated on this ride :|

  • @IndieRockChick101 no...the front car derailed basically and dug into the track and the whole train stopped abruptly...the guy in the front seat died because of the locomotive car hit him...his head did not fall off though...and this video is showing how funny it is that disneyland puts a nice display up around the mountain, but its because someone died...

  • Nothing to see here...Nothing to see here.

  • I still love this ride. I've been going on this ride since i was 4 years old. It doesn't scare me one bit. Yes the accident was tragic, but i'm not letting that scare me from riding this ride.

  • O-M-DIZZLE DID ANYONE DIE?!

  • Oh god im scared to go on big thunder mountain now o.o

  • HOLY SHIT THAT GUYS DEAD OH MY GOD! hey look a horse i think every things gonna be alright.

  • im not even sure if i press like or dislike for this vid

  • he had a heart problem right? wasnt it cart #2

  • ? wat happened?

  • it annoys me how people say its unsafe because of all the accidents. most of these (like 95% of them) were the guests fault.

  • @Kylie66100 your totally right most people do things like this on purpose and make it seem like it was the rides fault when really there just trying to get money from disneyland in other words sue them

  • We went on this ride, and my friend told me the story right when we got on the ride and I was like O_O

  • As far as what really happened, what I'm certain of is that the train derailed at one point and the victim was in the seat right behind the front part. It was not the man's fault, although that's the case in *most* Disney incidents.

  • @CheshireCatForever only 2 deaths at disney were mechanical issues. the others were at the esxpense of the guests stupidity...

  • @skankster69 thankyou!!!! I HATE IT when people are hating on dosney..most of the time its just stupidness getting to them!!! Helllo? they say keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times!! duuuh!

  • disney don't give a shit if we die only our family sues them

  • @jocstripe Actually they do. Of course they don't want to be sued either, but a friend of mine was on Space mountain I believe? Or possibly Matterhorn? But she ended up smacking her face on the bar in front of her and knocking out a few of her teeth and messing them up pretty bad, and they assured them they wouldn't sue, but they paid for everything to fix them and gave them annual passes for life. I'm sure that family who lost that man got a lot of compensation.

  • Disneyland had to do it. Theres a lot of kids, so Disneyland doesn't want to scare the kids away because of a death on one thier biggest rides. It was was kind of a distraction. So that was a good thing.

  • there is a reason you know......

  • Wow because someone died on here is sooo true...

    -No footage

    -No interviews with friends/family

-No Disney staff explaining what happened

-No news footage (except from on Youtube, but they aren't from new products)

& also the ride would of been closed for atleast awhile....

  • He got hurt, but he did not die. I think the only rides people have died on are: Thunder Mountain Space Mountain Indiana Jones PeopleMover Matterhorn Columbia America Sings However, most of the deaths were from the guests doing something they shouldn't (Riding with a heart condition, climbing between cars during the ride, etc.) This was one of the few times the guest was NOT at fault for the death, but the park.
  • @AdrenalineAddict610 this is big thunder mountain.... its the main entrance area... its boarded up because it is closed.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 Thank you for pointing that out. I have never been to Disneyland, but my parents and I visited Disney World every year until I was about 8 or 9, but we still go often. I'm in my teen years now, and I now know of all these deaths and injuries in theme parks, but I find it very annoying when people say that the park is unsafe. Sure there have been some incidents, like this one for example, but as you said, most of them were the fault of the victim.

  • someone died - but look, there's a horse!

  • Okay, I always went to Disneyland, and I never seen this area at all, did they just added or a place I never known in what land?

  • @acabner it's been there as long as i've gone there, it's in frontier land, the big black gates are no longer there now, the ride is open again. it really easy to spot from main street, it's large tan mountain near splash mountain, where the big steamboat is. hope that helps :)

  • @acabner Its were the haunted house is, hope that helps!

  • one young ladies seat belt fall complete off from down below her waist. To having 2 seatbelt's put on me at the Matterhorn to noticing one comming undone after the end of the ride without unbuckling it. That people mover was a buggy of a ride as that new ride they had in there with space rocket cars or something it was... It always had issue's. You forgot to mention the guy who fell to his death out of the sky car's that went across the disneyland park.

  • I'd like to mention that the seat belts have a tendency to be faulty too... Beware... double check them.... I know this for fact.... I've been to disneyland and have ridden there rollercoaster's 1000's of x I've had 5 or 6 --- 365 day passes before.

I've been going to the Disneyland park in California since I, was 5 years old and have been going there every year up till I was about 26.

2 ride's i've noticed have faulty seat belt's are the Maliboomber & the Matterhorn.

    I watched

  • Yup, the Matterhorn seatbelt does tend to come off. I would know. So make sure theyre buckled ;D

  • so wat happened exactly? i kno he, like, got hit by a train. Any1 kno details?

  • yep they went in a tunnel and a person was hit and flung to the bottom of the tunnel

  • SAD :( Id hate to be one of the mans friends. So im guessing he kept getting run over? I heard he was decapitated. head off and chest wound or whatever. What a tradgedy ;(

  • lmao!!! so they made a wall and put a bunch of useless information and plaques up?!?! hilarious

  • What did ya want? The guy brought out in front of you? WTF?

  • I hate it when this ride Breaks down, its one of my Fav.

  • How boring.

    At least they distracted people.

  • I remember hearing this when it happened its so sad how did he die tho? I heard that he like stood up and his head got cut off

  • no the Caridge in front of him derailed and fliped into the air hit of a bit of the tunnel which broke off and landed on him as his caridge(with him in it) passed just at the wrong time

  • i think it was some thing like dat theirs a whole page on disney deaths on wikipedia

  • Yeah, it was decapitation. Worst way to die...

  • I remember that!!! That was right after the "accident happen" on the ride!

    cool vid

  • WERE GOING NEXT WEEK AND WERE SO EXCITED. AND if you dont know why im saying WE go on my channel and find out(;

  • I was talking with my friends and my friends all like wen we went to disneyland i wanted to go on thunder mountain but my brother said ''NEVA!THERE WAS A DEATH ON THAT RIDE'' and i said ''i got on that ride...''and my other friend said ''she got on that ride and she lived'' to my other friend

  • How is this a distraction???

  • they brought out the horse and little trailer looking thing the hide the ride and so people wouldnt be trying to go on it. it was like stalling. and i know i never went back on that ride since. it is violent and creepy. but one day i will have to face my fears.. perhaps next friday agagagaga.

  • OMG I will be in DisneyLand on Friday!

  • maybe we'll see eachother and be bestfriends!

  • LOL YAY!

  • :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD yayy! i cant wait! no really!!

  • DisneyLand is AWESOME! :D

  • I think, as tragic as this was, Disneyland and its employees did the right thing (that day mostly) but trying to detract attention from it. It's not like Disneyland pretended it never happened, but like someone said, they need to keep people from panicking, and keep order in the park. But, this was a tragedy, and I'm sorry it had to happen at Disneyland.

  • But I was there for spring break with my school last year around that time I believe! No way. And the ride was open.

:O I never really enjoyed that ride anyhow. It scared me as a child with it's violent speed and quick jerks and turns.

  • I thought they were saying the ride was dead... idk

  • I dont get it, so it is those people that in the pic and their car or wagon belong to them so Disneyland try to honor them? cmon say it

  • When was this and how did it happen?

  • So what if they tried to pretend if someone died? If they announced it on an intercom or something, people would start to become distressed and children would be very scared and sad. Some parents might have to explain what death is to their children, and that would be an awkward trip to Disneyland.... Just saying.

  • Even though there's a lot of things parents need to teach their children, i'm pretty sure most of the kids out there knows what happens when you die.

  • how did it happen?

  • I was there that day and i didn't know it had til my parent decided to tell when we were in the car. I was on it an hour before it happened.

  • ..thats sad. now i'm kind of scared to go ont hat ride..0.0....

  • Heres a horse, now move along. Don't mind the ambulance.

  • I love space mountain..not this.

  • that woud piss me off if they didnt bother knocking it down..its not like people want memories

  • what's this got to do with sum guy dying?

  • It's there to make people forget that someone died. That's why all that new stuff is their. They knew that if people thought about the person that died, they wouldn't ride it anymore.

  • well yeah i think it's pretty scary that someone has died on the ride before, but alot of other people have died on other rides ... that doesnt stop me from riding them.. MOst rides that you go on in any theme park can be a risk sometimes you just got to trust the staff. Most of the time it's the visitors fault for doing it but disney end up taking the blame in the end. ( im not saying that this was the mans fault this time)

  • probably nearlly every rollercoaster you go on has somebody die on it becuase of heart attacks, on rock n rollercoaster a teenage boy died from 'unknown' medical condition in june 2007 aka heart problems, but like you say its most ppls fault in six flags over georgia a 17 year old boy was decapitated by 'batman' because he entered a restricted area!

  • the people working in the park had to pretend everything was normal, if they didn't, it would cause a panic, and not only would it be bad for business, but when people start to panic they get irrational, and things like stampedes and riots happen. I'm sure someone was working behind the scenes to solve the problem. the train that broke WAS trashed right?

  • Disney should've tried a better "tactic" then to talk about old concords.

  • This is one of the few deaths that took place at Disneyland that wasn't the fault of the visitor.

  • Who died??? and when?? the park in LA???

  • @Beentakenaway123 Marcelo Torres died her in September 5, 2003 in Disneyland CA

  • When i went there, there was a big Blue fence over it with a note saying something like refurbishing it. :/ When they were on the ride they crashed into the cave it.

  • Hang on, how did the accident really happen?

  • it happened when the train went into the tunnel and it derailed and this guy flew out and was run over or something like that and bled to death, not to pleasant

  • Holy Hell. How did you know it happened?

  • i was in the park when it happened. I was walking through Tomorrow Land when I heard about it and I got scared

  • It's quite easy to look up.

  • My friend and I were the next people to get on Thunder Mountain when the accident happen. O_O At first we thought the ride broke down but then we saw people climbing on the mountain calling for help. Since we had passes we went back to our hotel room and turned on the tv and found out about the accident. The rest of the day all of Frontierland was closed.

  • @foxanime101 OMG I was there too!! I'm kidding and I bet you are too.

  • i went on this ride last nite! lol. i went on it like twice

    lol

  • I was their at that time =\

i just came of i think it was splash mountain

We were about to go to thunder mountain but it said closed and evryone was just leaving it normally it opened an hour later he stood up on it

  • Most theme parks do not have to meet any federal regulations, no state inspections, etc. Missouri is one that has no requirements at all.

    Really scary isn't it?

  • Very Scary! I took my son to Branson/Silver Dollar City last year, made me think twice about the rides!

  • Actually, they do. Disneyland just had an inspection. There are signs on each of the rides now that say if people want to see the inspection results of each ride, and how they meet the federal requirements you can find that info at City Hall at Disneyland.

  • Good for your state.

Missouri (where I live) has no requirements.

  • Its very sad, but what should disney do except move on?

  • i feel bad for the people who were

there on the cart when he died... ive

been on this ride a million times and it's safe now no one has died on this after he did. But the people in the cart have a bad memory of this and they probably don't want

    to go back after that...

  • After nearly a decade of deferred maintenance, Walt Disney's original theme park was showing visible signs of neglect. The accident was caused because the management in charge at the time focused Disney's budget on other ways of making more money. Cynthia Harriss and Paul Pressler were let go and ever since the quality at Disneyland has greatly improved and I doubt something like this will happen again.

  • OMG how did the poor guy die?? x

  • i think he bled to death :(

  • A car derailed. I'm not sure exactly how, but this car ended up falling on the next train (there are five running, usually) and hit the guy on the head and chest.

  • Because he sat at the front of the train, where the locomotive was, he suffered the full blow from the impact of the derailed engine smashing into the wall of the cave. The poor guy had a sever puncture to his chest from a part of the train that had crumpled on impact. At least I'm pretty sure that's what happened; but obviously something devistating that he couldn't control. I hope he rests in peace...

  • It's the oddest feeling: I WENT on that ride. And what makes it creepier is the fact that they tore it down because somebody died.

I don't know why, but I keep thinking about this. It's really bothering me. How could something like this happen?

  • they didnt tear it down. it's still there in full operation. I go on it all the time.

the feeling you get while riding is like playing Russian Roulette. which really kind of makes it more fun.

  • That's odd... I heard they tore it down. Somebody wasn't telling me the correct story. Hmmm...

    Thanks for clearing that up.

  • When I went there in 2004 for my Senior Grad Night, I believe it was there. Needless to say it being 1am when we went, not many people wanted to ride it at night, just in case.

  • yes its fully functional now but it still breaks down alot just minor things not anything serious

  • i remember walking by this coaster at nighttime when it was closed do to the accident, it was like eerie because it was all quiet and i just construction on the ride

  • Where did it show that crash or when was the sound? I watched the whole video, didn't hear or see anything.

  • It happened a few years ago.

It was very sad and like anybody, I hope thst it never happens again, but this is really old news.

  • Thanks for informing me. I never even caught this.

  • There has been a couple of deaths in the last 5 years or so, but you hardly heard any media coverage besides the initial news.

  • Thank you for adding this video as a response to my Death In Disneyland video..great job!!

  • I can't believe that the ride worker people could mess up so badly as to send a train off going the wrong way. They must have been drunk or something.

I remember hearing that song near the end, it was on that big, pirate ship boat ride that goes through that big river.

  • uh.. the train derailed -_-

  • Oh...woops. I was little when it happened so the story probably got twisted over the years. That was what I heard happened, apparently my sources were wrong.

  • the train did sound funny but they still let it through so it is partially the operators fault if u think about it
