Actually, the great tribulation is NOT the wrath of God. God's people will be in the great tribulation, then towards the end of the tribulation there is a rapture, and then God's wrath is poured on the earth.

The Lord never said that He takes us to Heaven after He comes and receives us. Neither does Paul. Don't add to Scripture. Those souls "under the altar" haven't been resurrected yet. They will most definitely "meet Him in the air". I'm surprised that you haven't realized that there are no saints worshipping around the throne in Revelation 5:11. That's supposedly AFTER the infamous pretrib rapture of Revelation 4:1 (which doesn't say it either), isn't it?

So we have to be in Heaven in order to have "spiritual blessings"? Do you see the point?

Those killed during the Great Tribulation that STARTS in Rev. 6:1 (with the opening of the 1st Seal) NEVER meet Christ in the air. Revelation 20:4-6 is very clear. They are "resurrected", NEVER GO TO HEAVEN; they NEVER receive a Crown, they NEVER see the Coronation of Christ, they NEVER go to the Weding Supper of the Lamb. You may miss everything, but I won't.

Post the verse where John catches a "glimpse of the rapture". Secondly, do you believe that "the last trump" is at a pretrib rapture? If so, go ahead and explain the trump which is blown in Matthew 24:31 when the Lord comes back AFTER the tribulation.

People just love adding to or twisting Scripture. Who is actually called "up hither" in Revelation 4:1? John. What does Scripture say about adding to the prophecy of Revelation 22?

@tumordoctor The Apostle John is called up to Heaven, so he can record all that he is going to see. That is also a glimpse of the Rapture & what it will be like. There's a loud command, the angel will shout, then the "trump of God" the dead "in Christ" rise 1st, then we who are alive are changed. We & the resurrected dead meet The Lord in the air, then go to the Father's House. After the Rapture, many people will come to Christ. They will either be killed or alive when we come back WITH Jesus

Can someone explain to me why people think that there will be this "great tribulation" in the future and how do we know that we are not already in these trials?

It's just funny because Jesus never really mentions the exact nature of the tribulation other than that it will be such as the world has never seen. But is this just meaning that we will be persecuted, or does it mean as the word implies, that we will be tried.

@LivingHopeWorshiper God begat Jesus, which means he has all the characteristics of God, making him God. But, God is clearly the father and Jesus the son. The only way that God could beget someone that could be called his son is that the son be perfect, like his father. Therefore is Jesus the same as his father and yet is clearly a separate entity. For example Jesus said that none no the end of time except the father, meaning that God knows something that his son does not.

It was likely that knowing the exact rapture time was part of His glory He left behind in heaven (with the father) as He became man, born in the flesh. In Isaiah, the bible also called Him "the everlasting Father, prince of peace and Emmanuel" - God with us). So I think as He went back to heaven to acquire His glory and power He had with the Father, He is aware also of this exact time.

@woodowl003 You are confusing the "Trump of God" (1Thessalonians 4:14-18) with a trumpet blown by an angel. The "last trump" that Paul could be talking about was a series of trumpet blasts (like when an important person enters a room). In Rev. 4:1-4, John hears a voice "sounding like a trumpet". He goes to Heaven and sees 24 elders with their crowns. In v10 they lay their crowns before the Lord. No one gets a crown until all Believers are in Heaven and then we also get our crowns.

Saints of God, are kept by the power of God, they cannot sin (1John3:9) because they are born of God. Allow me to add that the grace of God is received by faith all throughout the scripture. You may want to check your belief against, Heb 6:1-8; 10:26; John 15:5-6 and John 3:16-21. And further study on the Greek word for believe (pisteuo). In reality, no one in the hand of God would do such a thing, (epistle 1John). I'm sorry if this is personal; but I am concerned with truth and justice as well as Love and mercy.

I would have to agree and disagree. Yes saints can sin. But we should not want to. The part I disagree in part about is " the sin nature doesn't die". Because of what Galatians 5:24 says. Now i agree that not all Christians walk in the grace to which they are called, this is very evident; nevertheless we are called to death and resurrection. we ought to learn to be crucified with Christ, like Paul said he was. wonderful comment by the way. :)
