  • thx 4 the tutorial! cheers from Halifax, Canada :)

  • When you talk about a product could you please put it in the info box? I am having to guess about the spelling... is it "Turpenoid" Natural? How much of an "odor" does it have? What kind of a container does it come in? How long can you use the same "TN brush cleaner" before you have to throw it out? Can you "strain it?" Or, can you/do you need to?

    Thanks:)

  • hi John,

Do u teach in any studio? i mean classes...

  • Wonderful clouds! So realistic! Thank's a lot

  • You seriously are saving my life right now! :)

So, I'm working on an oil painting for my college course and I wanted to challenge myself for my first piece of the school year. Now, my media calls for a much darker gray cloud, would I still use the same technique?

    Thanks so much!

    Cynthia

  • Keep it up, nice!!! It really helps:)

  • Very nice. Thank you!

  • Nice Videos John!!

  • Hi there,

Are you working wet on wet if you are have you got a video how to do them when the back layer is dry also blending in colours? As I always leave my painting to dry before I start my next layer. Great video by the way I rated it 5 starts.

    Dave.

  • Hi Dave, I am working wet-on-wet. This way the lighter color blends into the underpaint to create the mid-value color. The amount of blending will determine the value. Sometimes I will also add a dark value on the bottoms of the clouds and blend them up into the lighter color. In these cases I will have the three values to create depth and dimension in the clouds.
