  • all the violins to the left and all the cellos and stringbass are to the right in this videos

  • music will die

  • music will never die

  • brilliant picture quality

  • What's the name of the song?

  • @gy1952 It's not a song

  • Who's the concertmaster?

  • this gave me tears of joy... Wonderful... Truly wonderful!!!

  • LOL @theflamingredone . I don't suppose you've been in an orchestra. I think you've missed the point of a conductor. That funny wavy stick if you see is the beat of the music. Without that a large orchestra, especially retarded school orchestras like ours will be speeding up and slowing down with noone coming in the right place. I'm surprised people, not just theflamingredone don't get this despite seeing orchestras very often on tv or wherever. There is no debate :P

  • youtube symphony orchestra are amazing!

  • youtube symphony orchestra... this truly defines the awesomeness of 21st century technology and communication

  • cool!

i kinda wanna make mii's of everyone there for wii music :D

  • nice

  • Where did Snape find the time to become a conductor?

Jokes aside this is very cool :)

  • yea i see me i was 1st violin 1st chair

  • yea i see me i was 1st violin 2nd chair

  • being a conductor requires alot of work, if anyone not notice...

  • @theflaminggredone the conducter is used for the beat and to tell the players when to come in and other stuff like that

  • the drummer looks like johnny drama from entourage

  • Wowwwwwwww

  • i saw ben chan 3:23

  • i saw ben chan

  • You wouldn't mind if I cultivated this and collaborated an honest opinion in a creativly lynguistical form ontop of this master piece developing 1 beautiful piece of art?

  • Its hard to believe this is apparently all amateur players

  • @Khang112 well...amateurs to a symphony orchestra maybe, but they are definitely not amateurs individually. These are the best picked from the online auditions.

  • Most of the players are pretty young...cool =)

  • @reynagzmn Johannes Brahms: Allegro giocoso from Symphony No.4 in E minor, Op. 98

  • Amoooooooo isso!!!!!!!!!!

  • Symphony 2009 did a very good job...

  • Okay, its fairly good, but far from the worlds to level orchestras, also youth orchestras like the GMYO but I dont know how long they praticed.

Funny, I know the one clarinettis. I met her at an other international youth orchestra project. ( njo.nl ) (which had about a similar level imho)

Maybe ill try an audition this year, but i havent played any of the pieces already, so its very short time now.

BTW: You get some spending money, when you win the audition?

  • @LorenzoLassek They practiced for 2 weeks

  • I'm not one for this kind of thing but...

10 dislikes = people who didn't make the cut?

  • this is great!, haven't expected such a high musical standard, bravo!

  • same asian women in 4th chair but later the shes before the american women and this song is easy!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Did someone really just comment saying brass instruments is better than string instruments?

    Was that really necessary?

    -_____________-

  • BRAVO,BRAVO,BRAVISSIMO,BRAVISSIMO,ENCORE,ENCORE!!!

  • to my nephew J.T. ... I will so love watching his talents grow ... just Aunt Mary Jo

  • Brass instruments > string instruments

  • i love this. i wish i would've known about this when it was all coming together. my bass clarinet has been itchin' to do something for quite some time.

  • Ok first things first. You need the conductor to indicate tempo, style, rhythm, dynamics, and cues/cut-offs. Without the conductor, most of the orchestra would play in their own style because of the various types of training and preference in the group. Second, there is a black person in this orchestra, he is a first violinist and very polite man. Shut up. It isn't racist. It represents over 23 nationalities. Third, how the hell did homosexuality get mentioned on this comment board???

  • @wrw28405 Who exactly are you talking to anyways?

  • @ManIhTwoLinJay Was just reading comments, and finally broke. Sorry.

  • @wrw28405 It's ok I totally understand! lmao.

  • @wrw28405 huh? wat are u talking about

  • I was gonna be Bass Trombonist for this. :(..

  • This inspired me!!! I love it

  • wanna be there once in my life

  • Olha,só quem gosta entende.Ai como é bom ver todos na mesma junção.Isoo te deixa empactado.

  • Loves it...

  • look at all those white people! what happened to diversity? this video is racist! where are the black and hispanic musicians?? stupid crakkkers think they own this music! black people play it better anyway. best orchestras in the world are in africa!

  • @nukethewhales13 really? one video with no minorities in it and all of a sudden it's a god damn racist video? helloooo.. minorities... not majorities... and an orchestras consists of string, brass, woodwind sections.. dont think there are any volins or tubas in africa.. im pretty sure. and maybe there would be a black person in the video if more african americans would pick up a fucking instrument instead of rapping about "new dances" and "bitches, hoes, and niggers"

  • @nukethewhales13 lol craKKKers. anyway.............. Like fuck are they.

  • I think it is kind of funny how they move their bodies so much :D but they are really good :D

  • there's a guy in the violas that looks like john lennon...

  • @jorde18 haha I can see him

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 ok so u don't really need a conductor. I have conductors who always tell the groups how we don't need him. although like for cut offs and fermatas u do sometimes. but like sometimes my conductor will walk out of the room in the middle of a peice... and we keep playing

  • This is good music!

  • what? a u tube orchestra? but the maestro looks like Maestro R.Mutti...

  • This is probably a very ignorant question, but why does the orchestra need the instructor? I mean I know he directs them on how softly or loudly they have to play, and well basically instructs them - I get that - but wouldn't they of all rehearsed a particular piece over and over again so that they would know exactly what to do? Or is the instructor a "just in case" sort of thing?

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 umm no cuz no matter what level you are you still gonna need help and cuz someones= feel for the music is may be different from everyone else so if you have one person to follow then you have one basic style to it and not crash and burn

  • tonight. i'll go to classical overture.

  • The conductor is looked at almost all the time through peripheral vision. Play in an ensemble before you make such assumptions, please.

  • If you've ever seen a symphony orchestra live, they barely look up. If the orchestra is professional, they know the critical moments of when to look. As long as they can see him, it's fine.

  • Sorry, there are much better performances on YouTube of these classic works than this concocted gimmick of an orchestra.

  • booooooooring

  • @AWengerdavidh18 and why u are watching this ? ... lol

  • In my opinion, the role of the conductor is much like the focus of a parabola, to put it in mathematical and concrete terms. Much in the way a satellite dish works, the frequencies created are directed toward and through the focus of the orchestra in its most literal sense.

  • boring. hes like a chef? that overseas the preparation of a famous recipe.

parabolas... stick to maths. and dont insult your mumas cooking.

  • if the orchestra isnt supposed to be looking at the CONDUCTOR, who is CONDUCTING the performance, what the hell is he there for?

    think people, use your heads.

  • @theflamingredone i think he;s there for the people who get lostt or arent playing at the time .

and theyre looking at theyre music sheets, what are the music sheets for if they HAVE to look at the conductor

  • @theflamingredone The players are NOT supposed to rely soely on the conductor. They are supposed to listen to the other members in their orchestra and know their part well so they are on time. The conductor is really just there to keep a tempo and occasionally give cues.

  • @KitsuneRyoshi and those other members theyre listening to are relying on the conductor

  • @theflamingredone the orchestra is supposed to be looking at the conductor and the music

  • Musicans are supposed to be able to see the conductor, even if they aren't looking directly at them. And looking directly isn't a problem at all- I've seen many professional orchestras do it. I've even seen a conductor do a "look at me" gesture in the middle of a Minnesota Orchestra music. Good music requires communication and confidence. This orchestra is pretty good considering that they had such little time to rehearse.

  • HfM&Co.

  • perephrial vision id perfect when your looking at the music, but trying to see what the conductor is doing..i play bass in an orchestra, and i take my toll on listening to closly to everyone else, if they mess up on time i know when to slow down or something so the music is played nicely..it doesnt matter where exactly your looking.

  • Hey, cheers from Brazil. What's with the argument?

There is nothing wrong with people looking at the conductor. I play the cello at an orchestra and I look all around when I'm playing. Sometimes I'm listening closely to the violins, looking at other cellists' bows, peripheral at the conductor and glancing at the score.

Sometimes I just look nowhere, shut my eyes, or look straight at the conductor.

It doesn't matter where people are looking.

Just listen to the music, folks.

  • how i wish there were composers who could write such quality music today

  • xcvvzx

  • wut the hell? everyone's eyes are glued to their fricken sheet music. no one looked at the director., like hardly ever.

  • i didnt really hear anyone out of time, besides, this is a big deal and theyre probably reallly nervous

  • peripheral vision, my friend.

  • Yeah.

It's a good thing, too because his conducting is way off.

  • So is your punctuation...ASA1997x 2345.

    lol.

  • there suppose too..

  • yeah well he doesn't hold the answers?! u can see him from the corner of your eye, he helps you maintain the correct dynamics, by being eratic or calm

  • you dont have to look directly at a conductor to watch him. Peripheral vision can be used. Music is not about watching.. its about listening. Besides they had about two days to get this concert together

  • great musicians can count and keep time properly

  • And they look at the conductor.

  • 1:10 the guy on director's left looks at him :):P

  • @TehSorso LOL! he gave him the death look :P

  • I'm playing this too in my Symphony.

  • do people have a problem with orchestras or something? all i see is people thumbs-downing positive comments and making jokes about the director's baton.

  • 0:49 sounds like Star Wars!

  • very funny, it's called a freaking baton

  • Comment removed

  • keep eating grass...

  • lol

  • fantastic

  • its perfect.

    perfect

  • this was my music homework, to listen to a symphony. i thought it was gonna be awful and boring, but i fullon love it.

  • does anyone know if they're doing it again???

  • Is that Nina Perlove on flute??

  • @tcab09 YEs. Love her!

  • The guy in 1:24 has such horrible posture!

  • wow i love this. they are fantastic .i love how its a lot of different ages . 1:24 yeah that violist looks like the guy from the office lol.

  • Watching and listening to this just makes me smile. I don't know what it is, but I think this is beautiful.

  • somehow this music is dissolving the headache I had :0amazing powers of classical music!

  • timpani guy is awesome

  • CALLING ALL MUSICAL FANATICS AND WEIRDOS (sorry..)!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I NEED YOU ALL

Please listen to "Its a Fine Life" - the new version by Jodie Prenger (2009 Live london cast recording) on youtube - it's posted on youtube. Tell me which instruments can be heard in the Introduction. According to my vocal score, it says Tutti, but I need the exact percussion instruments, brass & woodwind instruments. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At around 1:24 one of the violins/violas (I'm not really sure) looks exactly like Jim from the office...

  • I will always regret not submitting a video

  • i saw ben chan!!

  • This is a highlight exposure of what the world can make today..Bravo....

  • not accidentally

  • listen. clearly, you cannot se her. she is not even with the orchestra!

  • I'm amazed how people can be stupid with the others without reason.

1-No one's better then no one!

2-No one can prove that's better then no one!

3-No one, hetero, gay or alien can be discriminated for what ever!

    4-EVERY one deserves respect!

    5-Isn't this a music vídeo?

  • serial rapists deserve respect?..those who touch small children deserve respect?..sorry hippy, the world isnt all flowers and rainbows

  • How did you came out with this? Geez! Every one diserve to be respected, smart ass. I do not appreciate rapists and pedophiles, I shall not respect that, but you came out with a different subject, don't you think? Till you do something that makes you an undesirable been in the society, you still get my respect. Till you're a proved bastard son of a bitch, you'll get my respect. What I mean, and I thought I made it clear by saying "without reason", is that everyone is innocent till proved guilty.

  • the world isnt rainbows and flowers but we can try to make it wat we envision it to be. a world where everyone is respected but u dont hav to agree with them, BITCH!

  • @harataharata people have always argued and always will. by saying this i prove my point.... also... classical music is better than hip hop... simply because there is more talent involved.

  • @weeMAN1300 Yeah, I do think like you. Classic music is way better, much more talent. I do not hear or even like the called "black music" but even so, I don't come around saying they are this or that. I don't have the right to. I do prefer to be respectful to be a bitch (like this guy up there called me...). And yeah, I love the argues and all. Its a good thing, but we do need a little respect on internet, right? =)

  • it means that youtube has a symphony orchestra? wow..wonderful..

  • som super czadowo jim to wyszlo

  • why is there a bassoonist sitting in the corner not even using her horn?

  • thats weird........

  • this is AMAZINGG!

i was wondering how they played so fast.... and for a moment i thought someone was fast forwarding it!!!

  • Lovely music have played other pieces from composer 2nd fiddle.

  • I'm not sure I even want to know how you guys went from "orchestra" to "gays".

  • is the topic her is about gays? focus on the orchestra.....

  • yea im confused how u went from music to peoples sexual prefrences SERIOUSLY!!!!

  • wow.. i wish i coulg be the one of the violinist there, but it so impossible,i dnt know how to play violin, hehehe

  • bellisssimo!!! complimenti!!

  • super

  • jonas brothers sucks more than anything else in this world because they're gay

  • Are they ?

  • And btw thats not a reason to hate some1, being gay is a feeling and its not fair to hate people cuz they are gay, u should respect people in the way they are

  • dont get defensive no one knows youre gay yet

  • Being gay is not a feeling... that is the problem with society and the gay-rights issue... gay is not a social group!

Being gay is nothing more than a desire and whether or not you CHOOSE to act on behalf of those desires. There is no gay "feeling"...

To "act" gay is a complete fallacy. There is no innately gay behavior pattern. Any homosexual that you know that chooses to act like a queen as a means to demonstrate their "gayness" is a complete fraud. Ex: What The Buck.

  • I think thats not right..how u love ur wife, thats how they love there husband.

Realy not all the gays in this world act like woman and such.

And I think its a feeling. thats just how I think about it

  • OK, where's your source? I must imply you're a researcher or at least an expert since your statements have such an affirmative, positive quality.

  • would you respect prostitutes the way they are?

  • @kourouyan Being gay or a prostitute is a complete different thing, being a prostitute is a "job", being gay is a feeling, so that was a stupid questions, and dont waste time to reply back because u cant change my mind and i cant change urs

  • I agree.

  • @jp123456789

nothing is wrong with being gay.

  • @Ricine lol gay whore

  • @yuming97

You've mistaken me for your mother.

  • @Ricine im sorry

  • @jp123456789 this is a silly arguement

  • am i the only one who thinks Johannes Brahms looks like Jonas Brothers? That's what i first thought the link said. I was like.... a jonas brothers orchestra? gross

  • wow so many ppl here play with so many energy, they all were moving with the music. there's no one stiff in here.

  • Its great that a lot of Asians are into European music, but I kind of wish they also too composed their own music. Maybe they do but I havent heard of any, do you know any Im interested to hear some.

  • You should listen to 12 Girls Band. Their a fusion band though. They mix classical Chinese instruments with modern pop. But it's really good.

  • Are you serious? Of course they compose their own music!

  • wow there's alot of asian in there too.

  • whoa!!

  • usually i donnt listen to this kind of music. But this song is nice one:) so positive!

  • It is perfect :-)

  • I saw some familiar faces. :)

    BenChan Rocks :]

Soloists aside, the orchestra was amazing!!! Obviously.

  • awesome performance...just beautiful

  • the youtube symphony orchestra looks more like a philharmonic orchestra :D

  • NEW RAISIN BRAHMS!!!!!!!

  • GUTEN TAG!!!!!!!

  • JOHANNES BRAHMS!!!!

  • Typical of the Americans to be opened minded, always open to so many possibilities. Not stuck up in foolish conventions. It's no wonder they caught up with Europe so easily in classical music.

  • Whahahahh bullshit -.- First thing...Americans are not even more opened minded then Europa...there are not caught up in classical music, I think America and Europa are in that way probaly the same...
