  • She is amazing!!! Hope she could win two more olympic gold medals in London 2012.

  • I think she's beautiful and an amazing diver!

  • is there the same video english subbed

  • She's such a cute girl x.x

  • i admire her so much. her last dive that won her the gold medal was amazing! i loved watching her and wang xin in the olmpics! such great talent from two young girls. they're both cuties too. did they switch partners though? i've seen both of them diving synchro with kang li. i love the wang xin ruo lin combo so i'm hoping they'll be competing together in london.

  • 哇~~~

    女神呀~~·

  • WEll i am very much amaze by her i actually look down on her initially in the bejing olympic she is so small compare to the other divers.but when i saw her performance i was very suprise go go Chen Ruolin!!!! hope to see you in the uk olympic!

  • she so great, love her so much

  • I wonder if she's gonna be as big or successful as fellow Chinese diver Guo Jingjing who's a legend in the sport as she's showing great promise at such a young age. According to some of the translations I've read here, they said she doesn't eat dinner? Dear, don't starve yourself!

  • Diving-wise, she may equal or surpass Guo, but most of Guo's out-of-pool success (ie money) is because a) she's gorgeous; and b) she's in the tabloids a lot. I don't think Chen has Guo's exotic beauty, and let's hope she doesn't get into tabloid trouble!

They didn't let her eat dinner for a year--that's what the interview says. I think now she'll transition to springboard because that's what Fu Mingxia and Guo did after platform. There she'll be allowed to have a well-developed body.

  • it's much too early to tell.

chen was 16 when she won her first olympic gold medal, guo was 23. they're in different stages of development.

  • I love Ruolin sooo much! She's so beautiful and so cool under pressure. Her focus is unwavering and her resolve unfaltering. I wish I could meet her one day... ;_ ;

  • Whatever Chen was doing from 3:33-4:02,it looked like it hurt like hell. O_O

  • wow the coash is harsh, but tats how a world champion is trained. anyway go chen ruolin

  • I guess her coach would look after her and her diet would not affect too much on her growth because Guo Jinjin and Fu Minxia looks 100% normal now when they grow up.

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH, gimdian !

  • this is a loose translation. i hope it will help you to understand what CRL said.

  • R:Do you wish to go for Olympic games?

    RL: Yes.

R: Do you wish to become a champion?

    RL: Yes

R: How many gold medal you want?

    RL: Don't know

R: how many competitions you want to be in?

RL:for the time being, i could only take part in two of them.

R:Are you satisfied with one gold medal?

RL: don't know. let it be natural

  • R: don't you feel bad as you lose to Wang Xin? RL: i felt a little sad. When you lose, you lose. it won't help even you feel bad. R: Whose skill is better? you or wang xin? RL: Our standards are almost the same. R: it depends on performance during competition? RL: yes R:u always did badly in critical moment. RL: I don't wish to.... R: did you cry for being so unlucky? RL:nope. R: u are very optimistic. u do not care about win or lose. RL:I did care. sometimes i feel sad about it.
  • RL: i don't wish to lose in big competition. This is the first time for me and wang xin to be in this competition. What if i lose?I am getting nervous and i did badly and lose....

RL:During my practise, i made mistake in the movement. I am afraid i do it again during the competition. The more i scare the more i will fail and it happened......

RL:the gold medal has gone with the wind....

  • Can somedbody PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE translate the words Ruolin is saying into English? Please. I'm a huge fan of Ruolin and I' m very interested in what she is saying. PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASEEEE :-)

  • R:reporter

    RL:RuoLin

R:why don't you take ur dinner?RL:Keep fit.R:don't you feel terrible?RL:I am getting used to it.R:for how long you did not take ur dinner.RL: For about one year.R:what would you do when you are hungry. RL:sleep.

R:did you increase in weight for this year?RL: i maintain my weight. it increased a little within this two months.R: how much?RL: Secret...but not much.

  • She doesn't look too skinny though. And also the coach full of sh*t. Why? Because she said heavy people fall faster. I hope she didn't get 0 in physics.

  • hahaha...I hope I can understand Chinese just the way you do...

  • I think the coach meant that heavier people have more trouble diving. It makes perfect sense. more body mass=more water displacement=bigger splash=lower score. Also, weight and height gain changes your muscles and it's harder to be flexible (that's why Lin Yue got switched out by Huo Liang). The coach is harsh, but I think Chen Ruolin's harsher on herself. When she was younger and broke her arm, even her coach wanted her to quit, but Ruolin competed anyways.

  • Actually I think the coach was trying to say that people with more mass would have to gain exponentially more muscle to propel themselves higher and faster in order to complete the required moves. And yes, extra weight does make one slightly less flexible.

  • I feel sorry for this young lady. My god, she's too young to be on a diet let along skipping meals. Perfect example of "No Pain, No Gain"

  • I admire her dedication and commitment. I hope she will eat dinner now that shes won gold. And take care of that bod. Dont starve it.

  • yeh she did say she is gonna eat after the olympics... enjoy the food for a while... she deserves it... 30 kgs only during the olympics.. she was 41 ish during this documentary... that is loosing 10 kgs... i hope she doesn't starve to death man... she is a golden girl at london 2012!!!

  • chen never complains about practicing, coach says she's already getting heavier because she's growing older and her movements are getting slower(just imagine those divers that are 10 years older!)she say's during the doha event she got nervous before the last dive wondering what would happen if her teammate wang xia beat her, and she messed up. She says sometimes its unhappy to think about so she just thinks of something else. her coach and her both say her teammate and her are about same.

  • Most female divers switch to springboard when they grow older, where a lot more weight doesn't matter. (ex. Guo Jingjing)

  • WTF ARE THEY SAYING???

  • Can someone explain in English please? I don't understand. :(

  • The diving team has good food, and everyone's eating dinner happily - but Chen Ruolin. She has been skipping dinner for a year now to control her weight. Everyone agrees that she's the one that works the hardest and longest in the team. In the world competition, she was ahead the whole time, but messed up and lost to Wang Xin, a newcomer. Again and again, she missed the gold for the women's single platform. Her coach says that she needs to improve for no improvement=decreasement.

  • Thank you so much! I appreciate it!

  • 恭喜你呀,陈若琳。最重要是照顾你的身体,我们的跳水小公主。愿天主保佑你。

  • 陈若琳

    你好棒哦

    不要一直没有吃哦

    对胃不好的

  • 可愛的妹妹

  • shes so hard working... im proud of her but as well as feel sorry and sad for her...

how can a girl doesnt eat dinner during the age of puberty...? thats too cruel to her isnt it

nevertheless now the gold medal implies... she did a very great job! ruolin u r the best

  • I think it was her choice. Because Lin Yue is also going through puberty, and everyone's freaked out because he grew 10 cm...but he's eating fine in this video. But then, he got replaced in the 10m singles platform diving because his new growth made his diving abilities unstable. If she didn't chose to do that, she might have been replaced in the singles, too, and she wouldn't have won the gold... she's only 66 pounds!

  • That explains why I was not able to see Lin Yue dive in 10 m singles...too bad China didn't win gold in 10 m Beijing Olympics...

  • well, actually, the rumored explanation is that the head coach Zhou Jihong was jealous of Lin Yue's coach because Qinghua diving team was getting all the spots(Zhou Luxin, Guo Jingjing, Fu Mingxia, etc. all came from that team)...so she switched Lin Yue out... supposedly, she's also responsible for kicking Tian Liang(2004 gold in men's 10m platform) out...so now all the Chinese people are mad at her for lossing the men's 10m platform gold.

  • 在发育期长期不吃晚饭,身体难道不会出现异常反应吗?健康女孩在发育期都要长一些的。这孩子真可怜

  • Right...she should eat otherwise her height will not grow.

  • I wish I can understand what you wrote...hehehe

  • 真的好可怜

    真的不知道为什么要这样

  • wow...i feel so bad for her...everyone's eating dinner and she's in her room because she's on a diet....

  • she's so pretty and talented.....

  • I just saw her performance on the 10m platform singles... She got over 100 points on the last dive... it was so beautiful.

  • poor girl...I would die without eating dinner.

I see Huo Liang and Lin Yue eating... who's the guy sitting next to Huo Liang? He looks familiar.

  • she's won a gold now! i'm happy for her ^-^

  • poor thing.... she's really a little cute girl ;)

  • she's hot

  • 好厲害~她ㄉ精神值得學習~~可愛的妹妹~~
