even though the materials are lighter I dont understand why some of these really simple tarp tents would cost 200 dollars. Dont you all think thats a little overpriced?

So , sixvictor , if I understand you correctly , it's ok to use a tent that is fairly high in price(say $70-$100???)but don't go for the rally cheap tents( say $30 and below?)

@Christopher711 Backpacking tents are designed differently than the cheap tents. Cheaper tents are typically made with low quality high weight product. The high priced ones use better quality material and lighter weight material.

Backpackers want light weight products.
