  • Damn crackle...

  • It's just like voting. A lot of people who vote in this country don't even pay taxes. People will for better or worse make their voices heard. I happen to have been lucky enough to have met Glenn Beck and don't believe he's a racist. They say a person is smart but people are stupid. If you think for yourself and actually analyze what a person says, you'll come to the conclusion, but people argue out of ignorance all the time because they simply don't know how to think critically.

  • are you a.................wizard!!!!!?????

  • Oh, look, the Liberals are commenting. Time to sit back and enjoy the show.

  • @pwuint12 Aren't you precious.

  • Penn, does the fact that Glenn is on your mind make you a homo? Also is that finger nail polish? By the way, you didn't seem so much as in disagreement with him when you were on his show. Oh and yes I watched and Glenn Beck is a paranoid idiot hellbent on spreading FUD. I really suggest you watch his weird shit. It's like listening to someone preach the end of the world. Seriously, I'm surprised someone hasn't gone postal after watching it.

  • Jesus Christ!

  • Sorry anybody who thinks becks delusional ramblings are satire needs to get their head examined.

Beck is not smart enough to pull something like that off.......Andy Kaufman he is not.

Whats more important is his followers don't view his rambling as satire. even if beck knows what he says is bullshit (I think he does which makes him even more of an asshole IMO) he influences millions that aren't smart enough to not buy into his fear mongering.

  • Ron Paul/Penn Jillette 2012! (though Arlo Guthrie can fit in their somewhere)

  • Ron Paul/Penn Jillette 2012! (though Arlo Guthrie can fit in their somewhere)

  • You can watch a couple of shows and get an idea of how a show is run without being a weekly viewer. You can write to the Gap even though you don't buy the jeans. People who do buy them are wearing them in public which then crosses your eyes. A little illogical. Still love you Penn. Still hate you Glenn Beck.

  • Maybe this friend isnot such a friend?

  • Did yu kno that Glen Beck is sooo flexible he can suck his own balls?

Yup. Doesn't say it often, but he sucks his own balls.

When they say 'Its All About The Family'... Its the reason they use as to why they feel its OK to Fuck You Over, and FTW. No GAY marriage...but you can marry more than one woman? Nice. There must be a lot of unmarried guys in their cult. ture.

  • it would be ballsy if they enjoyed life and run planed into buildings. but they dont. theyre scared and manipulated into believing theres something better when you die. that doesnt take balls

  • "I'm not defending what he said, I'm defending his right to say it"

  • Bill Maher was right. It takes brass balls, but they are still evil little a'holes.

  • Wow. This video gives me a lot of respect for Penn. I know I'm coming to it late, but still.

  • Glenn Beck is not a mormon, he is a moron.

  • Beck is not a mormon; he is a moron.

  • I watch 1 minute of Glenn Beck and I want to vomit. Does that count?

  • @bood420 ~ michael moore for one, he said he wanted to kill him on air. "kill him". he says "progressives are the enemy", makes up plots they are setting out to destroy america in "us vs. them" scenarios telling people to "act by any means necessary". after saying "obama was coming for your guns", there were stands offs and cop killings in pittsburgh and florida. he's called out professors, the aclu, and van jones as "anti america revolutionists hell bent on subjugating you. there's more.

  • I can't watch your vids! D:

the player always says "an error occured"

    dammit -.-

  • @bood420 ~ you apparently aren't paying attention. and that makes you the dangerous one.

  • Why the fuck can't I watch your show in the Netherlands dude?

IT PISSES ME OF BECAUSE I LIKE YOUR SHOWS

  • @HeidenHobbema

    same in germany, dude

    it's really annoying -.-

  • @schootingstarr It sucks

  • wheres the video???

  • Penny! What a boring self important fuck you are.

  • I love bull shit

  • Well, for a moderate conservative, I seriously dunno. I am against liberalism, because by itself, it is against what the founders wanted. But am not exactly a "republican". Republicans, by themselves, are mostly made of highly flawed Liberals. Party died a long time ago, when Andrew Johnson snuck inside... But there are few true men. Reagan, Bush Sr. and now? Ron Paul. 2012...

  • Im sorry to see Penn in this light. I still like him and admire some of his postiions but I wish he would take another look at medi care and medi care. I have never been on either but I feel that they help the poor and people who cant take care of theirselves. It is the best we have at this time

  • @skip1998 the rich is just naturally inclined to be indifferent to the suffering of the poor. They see the world through rose colored glasses.

  • Sadly, the 2012 presidential race could be between Maher and Beck, one each on the two big party tickets, and the morons of this nation would actually elect one or the other rather than a far, far, far better qualified third-party/independent candidate.

  • Whether or not you feel firsthand experience is necessary to entitle someone to an opinion on something, when they attempt to supress it they're committing an act of censorship.

Censorship is what letter-writing campaigns to third parties, like sponsors, attempt to do. Let's call it by its name rather than saying these people are simply "voting".

  • i'm not sure people know what racism is. i mean have u been to the rural areas of texas where they raise the confederate flag and says blacks are taking over teh country. thats racist! beck invites some black conservatives on his show. His not racist. his views are whack BUT you can't say his racist.

  • @halflifeproductionz People like to say that because it provides a simple idea that allows them to blindly hate. There are many things Glenn Beck says that I disagree with, but I don't believe he should be simplified in order to make an easy villain.

  • Just because someone doesn't watch the Glenn Beck show doesn't mean they shouldn't speak out against hate speech. That they shouldn't be outraged by someone who gets paid to fear-monger and takes every chance he gets to call people nazis and avocates for the murder of democrats.

  • What is the difference between tribalism and racism? Also, your points about context are well made. I despise Glenn Beck and the pink-faced frothy mouthed reactionary approach he takes, but that doesn't make his crazy wack-job opinions less entertaining for his fellow pink-faced frothy mouthed wack-job disciples.

  • What is the difference between tribalism and racism?

  • @matkeefer tribalism doesnt concern race directly, being proud of which state you are from is a form of tribalism

  • People complaining about your magic show is a little different because those people know they are going for the entertainment. Some people watch the glen beck show and think that its the news, forgetting that hes an act using onions to cry. Beck slaps labels on people all the time usually pulling out his chalk board comparing them to or implying that they are nazi's. I agree that people should not complain if they did not watch and those complaints should be ignored.

  • Why can't I watch these videos?

it just says "an error had occurred bla bla bla"

is it because I'm not an american?

  • Go pull a rabbit out of a hat and shut up.

  • in essence i agree with Penn

  • Penn god exists... You're god!

  • I don't watch Glenn Beck, either. But that doesn't mean I can't object when he says, for instance, that kids filming themselves beating another kid to death is a result of godlessness in this country. That's crazy, that's offensive, that's wrong, and it feeds bigotry against atheists.

  • @lordlacolith Glenn Beck seems intent on turning America into a christian theocracy, akin to what we see in the pseudo theocracies and full blown theocracies of the middle east. The irony is that he despises Islam, but at the same time is advocating policies just as far right as the islamists. (or close to it at least) He also makes being anti-Islam seem like a conservative christian thing.. I oppose it and i'm a liberal atheist. He is intent on separating further an already separated nation.

  • @lordlacolith The god fearing Taliban murder homosexuals in soccer stadiums and toss acid in the faces of schoolgirls. And Becks Mormons slaughtered 100's of innocent pioneers who made the fatal mistake of crossing too close to their land. And Beck is dead serious about this shit, a fact witnessed by his outrage at being characterized as a lunatic.

  • I watch his show so that I can understand the insanity.

  • 119 people must have written angry letters to shows they don't watch! :-D

  • "have to dig deep to find a racist." Is he really that clueless or is he just an apologist for these people? Being on their shows is probably a lot better of a gig than doing Vegas. Sure took him along time to say that's all he's saying. What's the purpose here?

  • Communist

  • @tomitstube Grow the fuck up. You don't have to like Glenn Beck, and you can think he's a nut. I respect that opinion. But Glenn Beck, as well as most media figures do not advocate violence. Stop with the bullshit rhetoric.

  • @getthepoooffmybum ~ glenn beck riled up gunmen in florida and pittsburgh who shot and killed police right after beck repeated segments of "obama is coming for your guns" bullshit. heard anything on the corporate media about these incidents? wouldn't want to upset fox bullshit now would we?

police got into a shootout in california with someone going to murder an obscure aclu outfit in s.f. gunman admits beck was the catalyst.

beck has openly said "he wants to kill michael moore".

  • @tomitstube That doesn't prove that Beck is trying to incite violence, that proves that the gunmen are insane.

  • @getthepoooffmybum "You're going to have to shoot them in the head."

    -Glenn Beck

  • @idontcare80 You really ought to watch the video and listen to what Penn says since he CLEARLY points out that, in quoting that sentence or a sentence like that, you're taking it out of context.

  • @MorbidGuardian I don't care, Beck is a fear mongering, bat shit crazy, shock jock, corporate shill piece of shit.

  • @idontcare80 But then all you're doing is over-simplifying your whole view on him in order to create an easy villain for you to hate. Glenn Beck does present misinformation and has fairly crazy views, but that doesn't mean we should be just as irrational to counter him.

  • @tomitstube

    hahahahahahahahah you are insane

  • @tomitstube Go Fuck your self!!

  • @tomitstube When will you finally understand???? this country was bought and paid for a long time ago!!!! Wake the fuck up!!!! The ship is sinking!!!! slowly but surely.

  • @tomitstube Aww, poor little troll comes running to defend Maher's sold-out agenda ass.

  • @tomitstube Haha you are a real dope. Bill Maher will have 1 so called right winger on his show and the rest are liberals ganging up on the one so called conservative. Bill Maher has come out in support of Obamas new war in Libya so hes the typical hollywod liberal that is only anlt republican war but when a democrat starts the wars hes in full support. So STFU with your Bill Maher worship, you are just as dopey as the Beck worshipers.

  • @jimmi161 ~ we aren't at war with lybia idiot. did you not see obama lay out the reasons and end game? we saved the slaughter of maybe thousands of people and now it's been handed over to nato. our president gathered world consensus, he worked with allies and countries in the region, and didn't lie about wmd's!

you know what's "dopey"? all the right wing war hawks who are now anti-war...

and then there's you of course, using worn out nonsense like "hollywood liberals".

  • @tomitstube How dumb are you? We aren't at war? What do you call bombing them with 500k dollar missiles? If Obama said you could jump from 50 thousand feet without a parachute you would believe it. So I guess you were all for the Iraq war since Saddam was killing and raping his people? But I'm guessing you are another anti republican war hypocrite. When a democrat is leading a war for oil company profits u r all 4 it. And NATO is us, dumbass. This is an illegal war with no congress vote.

  • @jimmi161 ~ no. we are not at war with libya. we prevented qaddafi from murdering thousands of people in real time, not years after the fact like bush did, *after* bush lied about invading because of wmd's.

i wasn't originally for intervention of libya, but after seeing the libyan people cheer the strikes and hearing people on the ground say it saved thousands of lives because qadaffi was on the offense with military might...

admit it, obama did it right.

  • @tomitstube Just because you say we aren't at war doesn't mean we aren't at war. You are either stupid or really stupid. I assume you will be signing up for the military and will go to Libya to fight, or are you another chickenhawk that is only willing to send others to die for your beliefs? It is known that al qaeda is a part of the rebels fighting Gaddafi, why do you support aQ? The people of Libya cheered when the lockerbie bomber was freed, why do you wan to help terrorist sympathizers?

  • @tomitstube Obama did not do anything right, dumbass. When we invaded Iraq it was the same propaganda BS with Iraqis on TV cheering that the US went in and took out Saddam. Its the same exact thing, and at least Bush went along with the constitution and left it up to congress and they voted to go to war with Iraq. Obama started an illegal war and he went in without even knowing who the rebels are and we now find out a lot of them are al qaeda.

  • @jimmi161 ~ obama didn't lie about libya, bush-cheney did about iraq. see the difference?

besides, every conservatives false prophet ronald reagan bombed libya without a congressional vote in 1986. are you saying that conservative god ronald reagan started an illegal war?

btw, "chickenhawks" are republicans. george bush, dick cheney, richard perle, andrew breitbart, james o'keefe, ronald reagan, john wayne, bill krystol, charles krauthammer, bill o'reilly, rush limbaugh, glenn beck...

  • @tomitstube You and Obama are the chickenhawks now. Obama never served and I assume you have never served but you are more than willing to send others to die for your beliefs.

  • @jimmi161 ~ chickenhawks don't engage for humanitarian reasons. you're confused with right wing unilateralism and preemptive military action. obama isn't thumping his chest and saying stupid cowboy shit like. "bring em on", and he isn't lying about the reasons to invade.

qaddafi is advancing on the freedom fighters again, they are literally fighting this murderous thug with sticks and knives. we're doing the right thing by keeping this from becoming a slaughter.

  • @tomitstube humanitarian reasons.... you really buy into every bit of propaganda. We went into Libya because they have oil, Syria is in the same place and probably worse than Libya but we aren't going there. Freedom fighters? Its a fact that the Libyan rebels are partly al qaeda jihadists. Are you for real? And BTW Iraq became a humanitarian reason, Saddam was twice as bad as Kaddafi the only reason you don't support the Iraq war is because a republican started it. Partisan hacks are the worst..

  • @jimmi161 ~ do you have any proof of all these accusations, or is it because republicans are such big crooks everyone must be a crook? what we do in libya will not effect our small oil consumption from them. the price hikes are due to wall street speculation anyway, not this conflict. wow... qaddafi is the one who calls the freedom fighters al qaeda, are you now arguing for qaddafi? seriously where do you get this garbage? is this crap what fox is spewing right now? what a load.

  • @tomitstube One google search will show you:"Al Qaeda offers aid to rebels in Libya" or "Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links" It sounds like you only get your news from MSNBC. Obamas BP buddies have a huge stake in Libya and their oil. Why do you think Europe is getting heavily involved with this one?

  • @jimmi161 ~ again, you either quote qaddafi or al qaeda as a source. while trashing msnbc? maybe you should try al jazeera. anyway, right wing political blogs are not sources of information.

it's been well documented that al qaeda is not happy with peaceful insurrections that topple dictators, their message is violence and jihad, and has lost credibility with main stream arabs, their goal is to recruit rebels. leaving unarmed rebels to fight qaddafi is a sure way of accomplishing that.

  • @tomitstube

The real difference is Glenn Beck wasn't answering to anyone and Bill has people comment back on what he says immediately. Guests keep Maher in line.

  • @beefygoblin ~ i would say it was a difference. but not the real difference. beck didn't have any real counter balance as you say, all paid lackeys, like fox does. but that's what you do when you're selling snake oil.

  • @tomitstube it's quite fine for you to have an opinion that glenn is a nut, i don't agree with him on many things, i do listen to him though as it is the only station i can pick up in some distant areas of my route, i have never heard him advocate violence as a solution to a difference of opinion. just because you disagree with him doesn't mean you have to make up some bullshit.

  • @crumpyc13 ~ i'm not making these things up. why do think he lost all his advertisers? and was fired from a fake news station like fox who has no problem airing unsubstantiated b.s. around the clock?

he has said the things i mention, and he rants incoherently about the left in demonic terms, as some evil force trying to destroy america. using fire brand hater rhetoric to scare his mostly uneducated audience into "doing something about it".

i take his fear baiting very seriously.

  • @tomitstube he doesnt give both side a voice, are you fucking nuts? what fantasy world are you living in retard?

Bill Maher gives both sides a voice? yes, lets invite a guy from the right and laugh at him while 2-3 other guest are against him/her.

Stfu ,your so fucking up your own ass.

  • @quezcatol ~ am i "fucking nuts"? no, i'm not, but if you think glenn beck is anything but an idiot sideshow to reality, well then you're the fucking nut. congratulations dumb ass.

  • @tomitstube glenn beck jand keith olbermann overexagrate A LOT.

  • @tomitstube Not that I don't agree with your comment, but all taxpayers advocate killing people for their political beliefs.

  • @tomitstube

Uhh.... No. Glenn Beck is a comedic satirist too. Have you not SEEN his show? It's hilarious. I'm surprised by the sheer number of people who just don't get it. Glenn Beck isn't dangerous. Poe's law is dangerous.

  • @molloyxx1

Just goes to show that people can be so stupid they think what is clearly satire is clearly serious. What's more dumb? A comedy show or the moron watching it who thinks it's serious?

  • @TheCeejReturns So, your premise is that Beck is a satirist, like Colbert, who lampoons the arrogance of Bull Orally and the hysterical bat shit patriotic vibe of Fox News? I suppose this means he is toying with all the obscure arch conservative guests he brings on his show to reinvent the Constitution, as well as the tens of thousands of lemmings who follwed him to Washington, some at great expense, to watch him deliver an utterly incomprehensible speech? Smells like a bong hit analysis to me.

  • @molloyxx1

I could describe Poe's law, I could cite a few of the many time's Glenn Beck personally admitted what he does, I could point to how absurd and hilarious the show is, I could compare the show to a lot of genius satire that people took seriously, or I could tell you personal anecdotes about idiots taking MY work seriously but, if you were going to listen to any of that, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. You're a lost cause.

  • @molloyxx1

"if you were going to listen to any of that, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. You're a lost cause."

    "absurd...hysterical...Nonsense"

I rest my case. The rest of you folks, this is a good example of how you can't save everybody. Just try not to be living next door to guys like this when they go off.

  • @TheCeejReturns You have no case to rest as you have not provided a single credible example and refused to answer any of my questions re the comparison with Colbert, who is clearly a satarist. I predicted, months and months ago, that Becks combination of narcissicism, hysteria and genral psychiatric instability would cause him to fail and fail big. He insisted Obama, perhaps via the Fairness Doctrine, would come after him. Wrong Glenn, your boss at Fox pulled the trigger.

  • @molloyxx1

I have just proven you don't understand satire. You got very angry at my satire and took me seriously. Ergo, you have no place to say Glenn Beck is not satire because you have proven nothing but your own stupidity. You have proven you have no sense of humour, you won't listen to me, you won't check your facts, and you can't even use proper grammar. Furthermore, you MIGHT even be a troll. Case closed. Do me a favour and don't bother me anymore. Thanks, doll.

  • @molloyxx1 wow, you are an idiot

  • @molloyxx1 Your comparison of people to lemmings is specious. Lemmings do not actually commit mass suicide the way that one disney movie made it look like they do.

  • @PluralOfEverything God this makes me feeel terrible. You are dead right, of course, about lemmings and the abusive tendencies of the Disney Corporation. And I am one of those skeptics who does not believe horses and monkeys can sing. Not to mention mice. So, I hereby extend my most prfound apologies to lemmings world wide, including their gay, lesbian and transgender brothers and sisters. Mea culpa.

  • @TheCeejReturns Who's the more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows it?

  • @Nodrog666

That depends. Who are the fools in this scenario?

  • @molloyxx1

I heard this old radio show and I think it's clear that they really believed that aliens were landing.

  • @KyleKoolKatt

Oh, yeah! Great example! You remember that?

  • @TheCeejReturns

It was old I just saw a video somewhere that used it

  • @TheCeejReturns "Glenn Beck is a comedic satirist too"

I don't think satire belongs on a news channel. Oh wait never mind Fox is not news.

  • @hawklord2001

Looks like you answered your own concern. By the way, I found a clip of his radio show on YT here, and he's just as funny without the props.

  • @TheCeejReturns You wish that were the case. Glenn Beck represents real beliefs of a huge group of Americans. He represents the death knell for this country.

  • @Nonsensei436

So, your logic states that, because some people are stupid enough to take him seriously, he takes himself seriously. Your logic doesn't follow.

  • @TheCeejReturns Oh but your logic is iron clad. Lets see if i can recap it: Glenn Beck, a man who produces a show that is intended to be taken seriously and who appears to believe seriously in the things he says, is actually not serious. He's a Poe. Because you think its impossible for him to believe the things he says he believes. There are millions who believe in the things he espouses. Why would you EVER think that he doesn't believe them too?

  • @Nonsensei436

No. He's not serious because he's a satirist. If you don't understand satire, that's a problem with you that you need to work out, but that doesn't mean you can't know that because HE CLAIMS TO BE A SATIRIST!!!

But, then, it would be a little too much work to pay attention to the parts where he calls himself a "clown" or someone not to be taken seriously. Instead, you're just going to go by where he's in character on the show. And not even that. What people say about it.

  • @TheCeejReturns You are gullible as fuck. Imagine if Glenn Beck said something crazy on his show and someone went out and blew up an orphanage because of it. He might actually be held responsible or at the very least have to deal with the backlash. He protects himself by claiming that his show is political satire. Im sorry youre not able to see through that flimsy disguise. The man is serious about his fucked up beliefs.

  • @Nonsensei436

Your argument is about as deluded as it gets. By your logic, if you said, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" you could be held responsible for the man who deliberately ran over a chicken in the middle of the road and said, "Well, Nonsensei told me to do it and he's right about everything."

Actually, you just admitted I was right to me & everyone here. Now, just admit it to yourself & the world will be safer from your dangerous attitude.

I'm sorry you have no sense of humour.

  • @TheCeejReturns LOL WUT? What you said had nothing to do with what i said. Why did the chicken cross the road? You fail at analogies. I suggest you just say what you mean to say straight up instead of trying to be clever. You aren't smart enough for it.

  • @Nonsensei436

Oh, I see what this is. You hate published satirists. You attempt to destroy us by pretending to take us seriously and attack us in every personal way you think you can get away with. I know your type. You should be committed. Goodbye.

  • @TheCeejReturns

And I can see through any flimsy excuse you make to claim otherwise. After all, satirists are being destroyed by your complaints, so that's your goal.

  • @TheCeejReturns anyone on fox news is a fucking moron giving lies to stupid people who will listen

  • @MojaveOutlander

Not as stupid as all the people who keep replying to my comment insisting, without any real argument, that an obvious satirist is not.

  • @TheCeejReturns they both are satirist lol but i like how penn informs people on bullshit that others are giving to people all around the world on television ;)

  • @MojaveOutlander

I apologise for assuming that you were like most of the people who replied to my comment. I should have asked you to elaborate rather than assuming I knew what your point was.

As a published satirist who gets taken seriously by morons quite often, I understand what the man is going through.

  • @TheCeejReturns Glenn Beck perverts history, and he labeling any progressive as evil, or whats wrong with America, when the progressive movement as a whole abolished slavery, worked for woman's suffrage, basic protections for employees, workers rights, which was huge in the mid 1800's.. Doing it a way that is just wrong, you can go against, some aspects like the welfare state, but as a whole threw the history of the USA they been a force for good. Its can be very damaging what he says..

  • @ASexyChef

Eddie Izzard does the same thing on a different kind of scale. If people take HIM seriously, he's dangerous too. I assume, since Glenn Beck has been fired, you're going after Izzard next. Or maybe Colbert.

  • @TheCeejReturns Glenn Beck is a scam artist and sanke oil salesman who sells fear and religious end times nuttiness to gullible fools. He should be locked away.

  • @GlennBeckMeltsDown

Glenn Beck is a satirist who sells exaggerated satires of more popular that warranted opinions. If you think he's serious, you're one of those gullible fools you're referring to. I suppose we should always blame the comedian when some idiot takes him seriously?

  • @TheCeejReturns LOL! A satirist?? He's a nutjob preacher who holds Amway style rallies and believes GOD is coming back to earth in his lifetime. Your statement has no merit.

  • @GlennBeckMeltsDown

Really? I've proven time and time again that people who take Glenn Beck seriously are the dangerous people, and they keep coming back anyway. Your beliefs about Glenn Beck are a religion.

  • @TheCeejReturns Beck wants to be taken seriously and it's widely known. Your views are way off the mark. Off you go.

  • @GlennBeckMeltsDown

Is that why he calls himself a comedian and a clown? I guess you would know what he is better than he would. I bet you think I'm a serious guy too. I bet you go read my editorials and think, "This guy is completely serious." People like you are very dangerous.

  • @GlennBeckMeltsDown

I would wager every possession I own that you've never even SEEN his show.

  • @TheCeejReturns You would lose big time corky. Ever hear of Beckisnuts77?

  • @GlennBeckMeltsDown

Maybe you've seen his show, but I'm 100% certain you've never WATCHED it. If you had, you would know it was funny.

  • @tomitstube Thank you

  • what's with the commercials on youtube

  • I didn't know Penn dyes his hair.

  • I hate Glenn Beck and think he's wrong on almost everything, but I'll defend to death his right to say what he wants.

  • Penn, you're a very intelligent person, but some of your ideals blind you. I say this as an idealist who has been guilty of the same.

Remember that the Pope compared you and I, among others, to Nazis recently. Well, you're not the Pope's "customer", so why should you care? Because it effects you. In this case, it's a direct attack. But you know it doesn't need to be in order to be acted on. Glen Beck is similarly waging a cultural war. The tactics you mentioned dismissively are perfectly valid.

  • Okay, here's the thing: It's not the racism that's making people write the letters; it's the hate-spewing, historically innacuracies he spews on his show day after day after day. Want to know what sparked even MORE letters? How about the two shooters who have disappeared into anonymnity? You know, the one who killed, what was it... FOUR STATE POLICE MEN with his car full of guns/ammo, because 'Beck inspired me with his George Soros-bashing'?

  • he looks like the gay version of the undertaker.

  • This guy makes quite a bit of sense.

  • Good save. I am on some level ashamed that I subjected Penn to the same "guilt by association" that Fox always uses as a weapon against their targets. I was wrong. He's not a propagandist. He's just some guy who has a pulpit. Take it with as many grains of salt as you deem appropriate. There is no ideology save that which you wrongfully presume.

  • I watch Glenn Beck not all the time, but every once in a while just to see what he has to say. Most of the time it is just ridiculous grandiosity by Beck to sell one of his books or sell some other book, or a speaking engagement that he has. Also to tell anyone who is listening that Obama is a Socialist, Communist, Fascist, which is impossible to be. Then again most of Beck's regular viewers do not know the difference. So Beck gets away with it with his viewers even though everyone calls BS.

  • The only thing that bothers me about Penn's argument is that he assumes that most, if not all Glenn Beck haters don't watch his show. I have watched it several times and I can honestly say that there has never been a bigger con artist in the history of the media. Period.

  • Did you ever get a response to the Verizon letter you wrote against Beck?

No hogenshot was I supposed to.

  • It is refreshing to hear from a Centrist every once and a while. Go Penn.

  • who comments without researching first? who only listens to one friend/source/mentor? Any real researcher can tell you racism is a tool of the media, & defacto government.I can tell you, if obama sends funds over to kenya, to fund abortions, which he did, look it up.That by virtue makes him racist, or at least not a lover of the human being. So if you listen to this clown, who no doubt gets his check signed by the same as Beck, you are in the delusion. seek truth people, not magicians/tricksters

  • I think of all the things I lost, I think I miss my sanity the most.

  • @shadowgueiser: are you retarded or something?

  • One problem with that, though. If you don't watch something, but a company you support is promoting them and they've said something stupid - i think you should be able to to write to the company and say "why are you advertising on a guy who said x in y episode?"

Of course, the first step an intellectually honest person would do there is look for the full episode before writing to get a sense of the context - but in the case of Beck, you just can't find his full program online after the fact.

  • Here! Here! Bravo....can we even talk to one another anymore? Everyone is so easily offended and as you point out, uninformed but opinionated. A clear pure head you have there. Rare.

  • Glenn Beck is the third Stooge

  • @TheDano1947

Did you ever get a response to the Verizon letter you wrote against Beck?

  • hmmmmmm.......

  • Please cut your hair. Please.

  • I dunno. I think in some instances, just because you aren't part of the group, doesn't mean you don't get a vote.

Westboro Baptist Church is practically a terrorist group hated by EVERYONE regardless of political party.

  • Penn, you are one of my favorite celebs. If you knew me, that is not a compliment, but I do enjoy watching your show. You etc did a shit job on the 9-11 episode and I know the gut instinct is to see me as a crazy nut job just bringing it up. you picked "truthers" that i have never heard of and I agree with you that they are nuts. How about a federal reserve episode to make up for it?

  • I like you Penn. I would bet that we wouldn't agree on a lot of issues however you can be very respectful to people that you don't agree with. It's a lesson that a lot of tv hosts NEED to learn.

  • Twisted just Goggle. Hospital bills/bankruptcy. We need a national plan where everyone pays their fair share. We have the worst system for any industrialized nation. The government plan works for Medicare. It was the Republicans who fought against Medicare when it was introduced. I don't see people complaining now to get rid of it.

  • Twisted. Of course hospitals can do that. The debt is just like a credit card debt. It is an unsecured debt. They can put a lien on your house and force you into bankruptcy. Each state is different but the courts can take your assets to pay for the bill. Our system is evil. If you have a pre exisiting condition and can't work and you get cancer. Good luck on trying to stay alive in our country. No health insurance company will insure you.

  • I worry that forcing people to have health insurance will cause the quality of said healthcare to decline. I understand and sympathize with those who have conditions that demand large amounts of health insurance, but there has to be a better way. Forcing the rest of us to pay for ourselves and everyone else just creates another burden that many aren't prepared to handle.

  • i watch Glenn Beck and he is a racist moron. I watch Penn and apparently he is a moron too. Here is my 50 cents from my YouTube watching advertisements Penn. Consider yourself paid.

  • @shet0011 Glenn Beck is the Third Stooge and does what Faux News tells him he can and in case you don't know who the others are, try Hanity and O'Reilly. I only watch him because you should always know your enemy.

  • @shet0011

Glenn Beck isn't a racist moron, he's just a moron. Don't play the race card. It's just what intellectual lightweights like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity want you to do.

  • The reason everyone should have health insurance is because nobody knows when they will get seriously sick. Right now the hospitals can take your home away from you to pay a medical bill. There has to be a law to stop that.

  • @photobart1 Please show me one case of this happening.. Sure people might sale a hosue to pay. but the hospital coming and taking it.. Sounds like bs to me... I couldn't find anything that says they can do this..

  • It's a right for the government to make sure everyone can afford it. Everyone should pay their fair share for it. If you want to drive you have to have auto insurance and I believe you have to have health insurance if you want to live here. I don't see folks giving up their government Medicare insurance. So a better insurance system has to work here and a government program can work like Canada.

  • Why is crackle gathering information about me?

  • Yes at this point we need government controls on the health insurance companies. Last year they reported win fall profits. The Republicans have blocked government controls every single time and now nobody can afford health care. They very selfish and in my opinion evil.

  • Hunter1447. I don't know where you are coming from but in a civil society everyone should have access to reasonable health care and one like me with a pre existing condition should not have to pay 17,000 per year for a policy. My health care cost more then my mortgage. I am willing to pay a fair price.

  • Beck did more to promote the idea of individual liberty and freedom than anyone else, except maybe Ron Paul.

Hardly anyone agrees with ALL his points and tactics, but he does deserve some respect for what he's doing.

  • @LibertyDownUnder My asshole deserves some respect for producing shit.
