  • how to make it interact with other stuff?!

  • thanks!

  • show us how to make green glowing slime monster hahaha :D

  • When i click on Domain, the bigger cube does not disapear, can samebody tell me what I did wrong?

  • @spartanredteam click bake in the fluid menu

  • when I press f12 and try to see how the animation looks like, the water doesn't move and it doesn't have colours D: what did I do wrong?

  • @TheSuperMurshu send me your blend. file, i'll give you a link to where you can upload it

  • how do i change the way it falls?

  • This & cinema 4D is pretty much the same, don't see the point in two programs.

  • @GoldenStarstruck nah, c4d is better for objects and collisions and blender is for fluids

  • How do you get your camera to move in a fly motion? I've been trying FOREVER to figure out how, and havn't found yet.

  • @OnClicked you gotta look at all my tuts i have one on that look for "blender 2.5 camera path tutorial" in my tutorial playlist

  • @OnClicked hold the middle mouse button to make your view go in "flying mode" :P

  • I found that when trying to View: 6 in Subdivision Surface.... Blender pretty much crashed/froze. :3

  • A pointer. When Subdividing, you don't need to "Subdivide again". Just go to the first Subdivision Surface Modifier, under "Subdivision:" There will be View, and Render. View is what you're seeing now I guess, and Render is when you Render it. The higher the number, the smoother it is, and the longer it takes to render and stuff....

  • You can actually delete the cube completely. I do that every time I make a fluid simulation and it doesn't affect it at all.

  • @nicksancheese unless you want to re-bake

  • When I click on Domain for the shape, it always comes up with my previously made water simulation. what should I do please help.

  • @MrTim168121 just go ahead and bake it, it should fix itself, or if that doesnt work just find the output folder for the fluid cache and delete it

  • Awsome vid icestriker.

2 pointers. To eliminate the shadow of the totally transparent cube the water came from, select the water (not the cube itself) and check "receive transparent" on the materials > shadow area. Because the cube is completely transparent, this will translate into no shadow being cast.

Also, to help you line up your camera, rather than grabbing the handles and guessing if it looks alright, you can go into camera mode "numpad 0" and then press SHIFT + F. Then look around.

  • @johnsky777 yea i'm aware of all of this already, the video wasmade 4 months ago :/

im in the process of making a better one

  • i can't find multires in the new blender :(

  • nice, and plz how do you make the water keep flowing?

  • @KilleroyCZ

the technical term is "inflow" and i have a tut on that i think... look up "blender 2.5 basics to fluids tutorial" it should be talked about in my version of that

  • @KilleroyCZ This is very good! I am having trouble getting the same look though. I have 2.6 and while there doesn't seem to be much difference, I noticed you were in Blender Render versus Cycles and if I go to Blender Render I see the same options for the transparency, etc for the water but it doesn't seem to carry over or look right when I switch back to Cycles. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any pointers? Thanks.

  • @kirkeric no sorry i havent really fiddled around with cycles very much even though i have it, but thats a good idea for my next video, a tutorial on rendering water in cycles, thanks!

  • this work in blender game ?

  • @gaio300

it will lag very very very badly if you dont have a really good computer, because if you put it into a game it'd have to render real time and that wouldnt be too good

  • amazing tut man! could you pls make a tutorial for making a grungy/rusty texture? would be awsome `cause I searched for Hours on this and didn`t find anything... Thanks ;)

  • @Fade2Great

im still trying to learn texturing, took a break from the blender stuff, but im going to upload a video/picture of a realistic orange

  • @icestriker777 yeah thats cool :D i´ve just been using blender for the first time and thanks to your tut, I could make really cool looking water :D thanks!

  • @OrthodoxDread

i think i know what you mean, try pressing your middle scroll button and hold it and move around then

  • @icestriker777 yeah i tried that but when i press that button it opens up all of the different pages on my computer and i have to choose one could this be because i have a laptop

  • @OrthodoxDread ok, so you don't have a usb mouse with a scroll wheel? if not you may have to fiddle around with the user settings a bit

or just buy a mouse with a scroll wheel

  • @icestriker777 you should make a tutorial where when something hits a building or tower it causes the tower to fall and smash to peices

  • @evilzelmoz nvm but when i played it my water went all over the place and didnt stay in a box like yours did so once again what did i do wrong

  • @smartacious k nvm ty

  • TNX!!!!!

  • Thanks man this really helped a lot!

  • @xxjkr7xx

    you very welcome! please subscribe!

  • Try linux with blender, as it would have looked looked so much smoother in this tutorial. I think Blender works better together with open software. Blender goes well with Linux Mint or Ubuntu. As well as Gimp rather than paintshop. All top open softtwre work best together as open software. Just the same as windows works best with their software. Open software with Linux and windows with Windows, that' what I say.

  • I hear you play minecraft, whats your name on it?

  • Can you do a tutorial on moving an object through a fluid?

  • Once you bake the liquid you can delete the liquid cube and the liquid will still remain, you don't need it.

  • @TetsuyaShadow

    subscribe for more!

  • @noah279878582

  • quick question can u make it the water splash in any spot and can you add ripples into it;or perhaps even waves?

  • @coolstermurph you can do any of that stuff i know in some of my other vids i do that so you should check that out, like my dynamic paint waves tutorial shows you how to make ripples and i've seen waves done before in blender :)

    also subscribe please

  • You can just delete the cube!

  • @entertement yes but that causes problems later on :)

  • @icestriker777

I never had any problems with that! but i like your tut e special because blender has changed so much that I didn't know what to do :P The interface is totally different! So Thanks for the tutorial

  • @entertement

  • @TheCkyrocker

what do you mean, is your question how do i find my video file? or what? please restate

  • @icestriker777 1. your epic

    2. after rendering how can i playback my video...

  • @TheCkyrocker

13:30 till the end tells you where the default spot for your vid, thats where it should be placed

got to my computer then look for your C drive the look for a folder named tmp

  • @TheCkyrocker

but ye in the tmp folder thats where ur vid'll be also pls subscribe if you havent already! :)

  • Commented and Subscribed my good man, excellent tutorial, I am a relative newbie, and your tutorial made making water (which prior to this seemed like a somewhat monumental task) fairly easy, thank you for your attention to detail, and for keeping it simple yet still relaying all the info

  • @RaveriusMax

thanks dude, i'll do my best to keep up the good work :)

  • @perfectworldx123

well im sorry to disappoint you, i tell you most of the keys to press and its pretty self explanatory maybe you should watch a basics to blender tutorial before you watch this so you know how to get out of each mode, also a simple dislike would've sufficed, you didn't have to unintelligently insult my work with horrible spelling and caps. thank you for your feedback

  • whats IOR and why did we need that other cube that wasnt the domain cube?

  • @69aznboi

IOR i think dictates how objects bend when they are seen through a clear abject with a certain amount of IOR, and the reason you need the second cube is if you didnt have that cube there'd be no water, just follow the tutorial and you'll be fine

  • I swear I am doing this right, when I make the large cube a domain it doesn't disappear. Whats wrong?

  • @SkillZone66

hmm i dont know youd have to send me the blend file some how, so i could see

  • @SkillZone66 hapened to me to so i just clicked bake and it went away and worked

  • make a waveanimation tutorial pleas :)

  • Good tutorial. Quick and to the point. I wondered what would happen if I deleted the box and it didn't seem to make a difference. I also removed the subdivision surface modifier to make it render faster and the quality stayed pretty good. I'm creating a video response of my test if you want to approve it. Thanks.

  • @MegaWindowstuts

thanks so much and thats my first tutorial! if you need any more tuts just ask :)

  • thankyou :) This helped alot...

  • @aidan00ah

    your very welcome :)
