  • be carefully when messing with the pulley size. Several support mods need to be done before you do it. I have the K&N intake, 605 plugs, 180 tstat,Pacesetter headers, full 3in Magnaflow exhaust and i still have stock pulley size due to fear of high Knock retard( KR which is heat generated by a non intercooled boosted engine. I have a exhuast vid on my page and I have a dyno of before my headers, old plugs and bad oil lol. Sloppy Mechanics-2009 Grand prix on youtube.

  • Nice sound...I have a 08 Pontiac Torrent GXP (V6) and am thinking of putting on an exhaust system. Should I do flowmaster or Magnaflow?? I can't find any vids on Torrents.....Any ideas anyone??

  • yeah i think you modded you GTP a lil more than mine But you should get the pulley for the supercharger smaller that makes a big difference in .

    What kind of tires do you run on the track that also has a lot to do with it too, nice moddin keep it up

  • im looking to do some work on my exhaust/mufflers w.e.... i want it to be as loud as possible but not too raspy... also if some dould clear up the u-bend delete and some other common terms it would be very helpful thanks

  • The U bend is a bend in the pipe where it shapes like a U so the o2 sensor can go down in the top to protect it. The guys who did my work Mighty Muffler in Knoxville Tn just put a bung in the side of the 3 inch pipe to put the sensor in to get rid of the dreaded U Bend. Which other terms would you lie to know?

  • when i purchase an exhaust kit, will it have everything i need already or wil i need like a cat or something else. or could i just buy a set of flowmasters

  • If you like the way mine sounds All I done was a 3 inch Pipe all the way back to dual flows

  • In that video it has no cat and 3 inch Down Pipe and My friend ported out the manifolds in his shop

  • Well the 04+ exhaust systems don' t have a U bend. That's 97-03. I'm actually in the middle of getting the ZZP 3IN DP and 3IN Catback install with Magnaflow res. and magnaflow muffs. Your next venture should be headers for it. YOu may need to get a different DP if you do though. A shorter DP. ZZperformance sells them. Headers make it sound like night and day. NO raspiness and it sounds like a P.Oed. V8. I have the 05 GTP COMP.G

  • you sound like you know what your talking about especially when you want that v8 sound. i have a 2004 grand prix and i want really good sound not obnoxiously loud tho. got any suggestions. i was thinking a zzp downpipe to dual flow master 40s?? but idk what to put for my options on the downpipe on the zzp website.

  • I just put mine back to turbo mufflers instead of the flows and it sounds a lot deeper now with the 3 inch exhaust

  • e-brake launch...

    Apply the e-brake and then press it again to release it but hold it down and brake torque it. It sinks the rear supsension down and preloads it so there is a little less back to front transfer.

  • there are serveral ways that are said to work. First is the brand of muffler. FLow 40's are meant for larger V8's. The best flowmaster for a V6 is the 80 series. Its transverse and has two outlets to one muffler. Another is pipe size. I would say

    3" is a bit big for V6 unless you are boosted. I see your's is a GTP, is it suoercharged?Lastly an upraged intake helps wonders as well. Either a WAI or a CAI/FWI.

    Check out magnaflow mufflers too. I think they sound great on anything.

  • Thank you for the Info The GTP's are all supercharged And I have a Cold air Intake a HUGE one. The reason I chose the 3 inch pipe was because of it being supercharged. I would like to clear out the rasp. I will be removing the cat after I get the 420 delete code in my pcm maybe that will help it some.

  • Thanks Mike Ill try that Im used to Launching my Screamin Chicken at high rpm RPM's Make horse power but your probably right about the lower RPM on the FWD,

  • Hey Bro, sound good. A little raspy on the high end. For a launch, try around 1500 rpm. I usually do a slighty under, around 12-1300 rpm and I get a nice jump. 1500 with your car would be nice I bet.

  • By the way How would I get the rasp out of it?
