  • I know oneday in the future a movie of the Superfriends will be made into a live action movie. They already made a live action movie of The Avengers that's comming out later this year. It's only a matter of time.

  • I sure miss the good old days, wakeing up early to watch super friends.

  • So Sad..Robin didn't even get introduced. lol

  • Judge Smails, at his best!

  • 0:25 ah so that's where they got the Walgreens logo from.

  • Omg this serie was epic in France because the VA was truly terrible, but really terrible.. You can't imagine how much

  • Justice League and Superfriends were secretely named: Batman and his bitches.

  • @MrTriplexi Everyone was Batman's bitch. He had so many bitches, even his bitches had bitches.

  • Why couldn't this show just be called 'Justice League' Super Friends seems kind of whimpy

  • Wendy Marvin and Wonderdog? Really? Batman's not enough?

  • superman

    wonder woman

    batman

    aquaman

and meg... thumbs up if you know what I mean

  • I always though the Invisible Jet was stupid 'cause you can still see Wonder Woman sitting on nothing, haha, but this is still a cool show. ;D

  • and meg

  • @SaberMasterVideos you hold the lightsaber but youre only a youngling! Aquaman is not stupid in fact he could kill you and your jedi ass!

  • I love how all batman does is pick them up in the car.

  • @ApprenticeJim

Batman's only super power is money.

  • lo aquaman and his seahorse

  • Wasn't it incredible how this show was so popular? Then the politically correct crowd complained that all the SuperFriends were white, and of course that was "racist." So the "Minority SuperFriends" came into being. Gone were Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman...hello Black Vulcan...Apache Chief and the Texas Tornado. Characters that had about 5 minutes of development behind them and who stunk so bad that they sank the whole show! But hey...we didn't want to be "racist" now did we? lol

  • Four greatest superheroes SUPERMAN… WONDER WOMAN… BATMAN and aquaman

  • corny

  • Love this Opening..

  • I've always wondered what the HELL those close-up letters showin during the first 3 seconds are supposed to spell.

  • Comment removed

  • Man , I was up every Sat morning at 7:00 am when I was a kid to watch this

  • What a terrible power Aquaman has.

  • @Pigganon hahaha yeah i was thinking the same thing. all he can do is summon fish every episode lol

  • Ted Knight was wonderful!

  • aquaman always riding with womder woman..i use to think they go out

  • 3 junior super friends were waste of time. why did they even put them on this show?

  • @chauncy817 Give us things to make fun of. Not sure

  • @chauncy817 To appeal to children. Hey it caught my attention when I was a kid.

  • @chauncy817 They were included to act as narrative representatives for the younger viewing audience: Wendy, Marvin, and Wonder Dog often asked the questions that kids would ask, themselves, about what was happening in the story, and they also acted as comic relief vs. the main heroes, who while occasionally given some humorous lines were usually required to be relatively more "serious" relative to the story (well, as "serious" as a show like this could be, of course!)... ;)

  • wonder dog gets a mention but not boy wonder wow

  • I don't remember that dog and those kids. I guess i was from the second generation that had The Wonder Twins instead.

  • @skinwalkerxxx The Wonder Twins were used as a replacement for Wendy, Marvin, and Wonder Dog when the latter were considered by the production team to be too ordinary for the shows setting; the former were added so they could still fill the role of "younger" heroes, but have super-powers as well, so as to be useful to the story in more dynamic ways.

  • @tideoftime that was a good move, Marvin and the others look way too "Scoobee-Do"

  • @skinwalkerxxx scooby, eh? i would have said he resembled too much of a liking to astro, myself. although, i do understand the scooby reference.

  • @dianasman69 That's right...it's none other than Ted Knight! :0)

  • Is that voice ted knight????

  • Where's Maritess? The maid of the Super Friends

  • Huh? Since when did Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo become Superfriends?

  • Huh? Since when did Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo become Superfriends?

  • They'll mention the freaking Wonder Dog but not Robin? Bullshit move!

  • @cosmicrocket0 LOL! I watched that show back in the day and I NEVER noticed that before you mentioned it!

  • Bad animation, but a kick-butt theme song and Ted Baxter's great narration--made for an awesome Saturday morning experience!

  • Anyone remember the episode where Spider-man joined the SuperFriends and had to stop that giant Star Fish Cookie with a water hose because no one could figure out how to beat it? Even Green Arrow's Boxing Glove Arrow couldn't stop it! Wendy and Marvin were no where to be found...Spidey couldn't find them.

  • @lawpunker What the hell are you talking about?!XD

  • Nice, bold opening theme -- brass, bass and weird/funky synth!

  • These were the best episodes!

They jumped the shark when they changed and added all those other super heros and the lame Wonder Twins.

  • @akrocuba

I never liked the 3 junior super heroes ... i think the Wonder Twins were a more tolerable. I like Challenge of the Superfriends best...

  • South Park - Super best friends. :D

  • ugh. i miss zan and jana and gleeck.

  • I always wonder why they decided on using Aquaman for this line-up over Green Lantern or the Flash?

  • @jetscreamer1 cause aquaman is AWESOME

  • .....meanwhile under meg's bra

  • I love the old cartoons ! i still have a poster of the SuperFriends cartoon put up !

  • Damn, i rem this show bck when i was a kid.....looking at it now...WOW~.~

  • Ted Knight reporting.....

  • I just wanna remind everyone that Superfriends will never be cheesy or campy. Everyone get that through your heads right now.

  • @SuperCruiser72 so true. I wish that they would make another superfriends. Especially, the episode about the Universe of Evil. Too bad they never made the episode where the superfriends go back to the universe of evil and fight the evil superfriends. Oh well, justice league made a version in the episode a better world...justice league vs. the justice lords, although the justice lords weren't really evil, like the evil superfriends.

  • The cartoon I never really watched.I do like the introductory music!

  • I hate the lame-ass 1970s version of Batman. Even the 1960s campy version was entertaining, but this version was just dull and useless. Batman needed that 1980s revamp very badly. ...And 1970s Robin? Bats would have been better off sticking a mask on Wonderdog and making him his new crime-fighting partner.

  • @felixjazzage Man that last part of your comment is beautiful (and true). Thanks for that laugh. I needed it.

  • @spykerspyder

    Ha, you're welcome.

And, it's true, because 1970s Robin's worse than useless.

  • If they are introduced in order of importance, then Marvin is a bigger super hero than Aquaman.

  • Everyone displays their superpowers in the intro while Batman picks up the kids and the Dog...

  • so acorrding to this opening batmans special power is to.....give people a lift?

  • @CaoimhinOhOgain LMAO hilarious comment, and its so true! I guess his Batcave is under construction, eh?

  • Created from the cosmic legends of the universe?

WTF? I though Batman's parents just got shot.

  • "Meanwhile, under meg griffins bra!"

  • and meg

  • Wonder Woman's boobs aren't big enough.

  • @tapdog12 Something happened to them once JLU rolled around, I guess.

  • batman's intro. priceless

  • family guy brought me here.. again :D

  • Even me.

  • SOLOMON GRUNDY SMASH AQUAMAN!!!

  • Wendy and Marvin never quite lived up to their potential....

  • @dchometownboy .....they had potential?

  • How the fuck are Wendy and Marvin super heroes, what did they do a School Fundraiser ?

  • @TheBillbot they are in young justice though. and i think they proved their worth to be junior superheroes and take their manlet as they grew older.

  • Cool to see Wendy and Marvin return in Young Justice

  • What the...? Scooby Doo?

  • From Johnny Quest to this opening, HB knew how to use big band music!

  • Superman: Flies and stops a train

    Aquaman: Controls sea creatures

Batman: Drives a car... Yeah, normal people can't do that.

  • i know i'm only 18 but i seriously remember watching this as a kid

  • Classic, Loved as a kid.

  • The 46 people who dislike this are members of the League of Doom.

  • I think that Ted Knight (Ted Baxter from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show") doing the opening narration.

  • @30dizzy34 It is Ted Knight. He also played the judge in caddyshack.

  • @30dizzy34 Yes, it is Ted Knight. He also did narration and character voices for the 1960s Filmation series of DC superheroes (Superman, Batman, Aquaman, JLA, Teen Titans, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Superboy) that preceded the Superfriends series.

  • That Ted Knight's voice from Too Close For Comfort...

  • And the voice of Ted Knight to boot!

Call it: Ted Baxter vs. Aquaman. Who wins?

  • I USED TO WATCH THIS EVERY WEEKEND !!!

  • meanwhile.....

  • 1973 was a good year for me.

  • cool time travel capsule fun thanks:)

  • RIP to Ted Knight (who was the announcer.)

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Now that you mention it, I can here his voice.:)

  • @Youngmoon08 Ted also used it (to an extent) on "Too Close For Comfort" when he did the voice for the 'Cosmic Cow' puppet that Henry Rush drew his comic strip with.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Yeah. Now that you mention it, I remember it.

  • great quality. thanks for the upload.

  • i wish cartoons still was like this...

  • ...and Meg.

  • To answer those wondering about this show and why so and so wasn't in it, it's because there were about five series of 'Superfriends'. This was the first, to be followed by the series which replaced Wendy and Marvin with the Wonder Twins, and then that was replaced by Challenge of the Superfriends aka The Justice League of America vs The Legion of Doom, and then one more called Superfriends cosmic challenge or somesuch in 1983. Long and storied history, this show.

  • @Solas67

I remember each one of those from the very beginning

This was my childhood, planted in front of the TV with a bowl of sugary cereal with my brother. Our favorite was the Wonder Twins. Only in the 70's could a superhero turn into an icicle or a giant pair of scissors, ROTFLMAO

  • This was an intresting series, since all the complaints on Super Hero cartoons was

thought to be done away with in 1969,after the backlash from parrents complaining

about violence in cartoons. the 1st season of SUPERFRIENDS was successful,

considering that ABC took the measure to hire Psycologists to consult-thus being a

far cry from "THE BATMAN-SUPERMAN HOUR" and the other Filmation cartoons

from the late 60s. but still,ABC and Hanna-Barbera were ultimately successful for

    the 11 seasons!

  • @asia1015 The idea of combining them all together was a great and successful one.

  • Seanbaby brought me here.

  • Wendy's a cutie !

  • one thing i didnt get about that thing was why robin was wearing tights.ONLY tights.

    :P

  • I love that Aquaman noise to control marine life. Makes me almost forget how crappy my childhood was. This and Atari where some of the good. lol

  • Actually, if you notice, most of the plots revolve around either learning to be better to the environment or about learning to live with differences. And yes, this show was produced in response to the "violent" cartoons of the early to mid-1960's, and are a bit better than the "chase" cartoons of the late 1960's ("The Perils of Penelope Pitstop," anyone?). No, there's no Joker, Penguin, or any of the other DC villains here. Wendy and Marvin were there to humanize the show for little kids.

  • @snakes3425 the legendary time we all knew as SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS was actually monitored by a watchdog group that complained of too much advertising to kids as well as too much violence in cartoons (spiderman '67') this is just a watered down kid friendly non violent version of the JLA but i think DC went overboard with the non violent thing this is why the MARVEL SUPER HEROES despite its terrible animation will always be superior in my view. this is classic saturday morning stuff here

  • TED KNIGHT DID THIS VOICE OVER.

he did the 1st couple years, and was on the Mary Tyler Moore Show as the grumpy protagonist to Mary, and he was the dirty, judge smails, who was the president of the country club in Caddyshack, "you.. own Bushwood? YOU own BUSHWOOD???!" (said to Rodney Dangerfield's character, Al Czervik)

  • Wendy, Marvin, and Underdog should have been in The Dark Knight.

  • Superman: super powers.

Wonder Woman: good with a lasso.

    Batman: great chauffer.

    Aquaman: ... Oh.

  • OUTRAGEOUS!

  • I want a Blu-Ray of this tv series, 1080p and 5.1 Dolby Digital.

  • Actually, truth be told, Wonder Woman wants to service all Mankind.

  • damm, good old days

  • @sgdiani Yes Its Ted Knight.

  • Thanks for posting bro, this was my all time favorite cartoon as a kid. : )

  • I'm pretty sure that's Ted Knight annoucing the intro????

  • i wish they brought this show back to boomerang, they stop showing it becuase of two shows justice league (which i also miss) and batman: brave and the bold which i think is terrible becuase batman does not even look like the original or the dark knight

  • Love the theme song and the voice over...so 70s

  • @galvaton10000 Poor Wonder Dog...gets NO respect.

  • Robin is not there becauce in the Justice League building entrance there is this sign: "NO SIDEKICKS ALLOWED BEYOND THIS POINT"

  • @MikeHenriquez77 But he is there.... oh nevermind you got plenty of likes so you must have a point. and why the hell's batman smiling? O_o

  • used to watch this

  • What a sweet piece of mucis.

  • When I was a kid I would be jumping up and down when this show came on. This was Citizen Kane for an 8 year old. I really hated it when they took the original 1 hour episodes and butchered them in to 30 min. It caused them to have jump cuts, and continuity problems. Even little kids new something wasn't quite right.

  • This is so better than justice league , cartoon this days sucks they should really ask

professionals like Hanna barbera , and other people who makes cartoon in the early 20s - 90s

  • I´m looking for an intro in wich Darkseid emerges from one of his portals as the drums sound, but I can´t find it... maybe I just dreamed about it.

  • I watched this as a kid back in the day. What a great classic show, they don`t make em like they used to.

  • @jesman1 - Thank you - I can't believe all of the ridiculous comments posted - it was fun when we were kids - hello?

  • Oh man this is a real blast from the past. Oh boy I allways rushed home to watch this and mastabate at the same time. They were the days. aahhhh.

  • Got a feeling the 3 super junior friends probably didn't do much to help.

  • @mccarrpo well' what help they DID offer/give to the Superfriends was offset by the Superfriends concern for their safety. Would you like to be the Superfriend to tell their parents why their junior superfriends got injured or worse just 'cause they were trying to help?

  • The girls are so lucky now with their Sailor Moons and Lara Croft etc.

I LOVEd this as a kid but I still remember with absolute clarity thinking,"All the guys have awesome powers. What's Wonder Woman got? A lasso and a rotten plane. That's no fun." The only other female superhero around was Mighty Isis.Oh how i loved her.But that was largely it.I'm glad little girls have more interesting, gutsy gals to pretend to be now.

  • @blackwhimsy Wonder Womans' lasso may be no fun until she gets it around you, then you're forced to do what she commands you to do,and since it's magic, that INCLUDES Superman. Her plane is because she can't fly like Superman can, she can only use the air currents to glide on. And don't forget that she can communicate telepathically like Aquaman can, on a much broader range than just with fish. Being able to deflect bullets and energy beams with just your wrist bands is a pretty awesome trick .

  • @blackwhimsy 3 years after SuperFriends went up, The wonder woman series shows her using super strength. But look at the other members of the superfriends, aquaman, batman and robin, hawkman, weren't considered particularly powerful. They even made Green Lantern's power look really stupid.

  • I miss Wonder Dog. And where the HELL did Aquaman find that big ass seahorse?

  • Man! Saturday Mornings in the 70's was so much fun!!!!! Cartoons today don't match the good old days!!!

  • i wished they would bring the superfriends back.

  • Wah, wah, wah. This cartoon came out almost 40 years ago and it was made by Hanna Barbera so it was hammy and a little stupid. So what? At least it was clean and most parents wouldn't be afraid to let their kids watch.

  • i remember my dad showing me this when i was 4 years old.

  • The Hall Of Justice design was inspired by the Cincinnati Union Terminal (train station) that was built in the 30's. The Terminal no longer services trains & is now preserved as a museum/cultural center.

  • Don't disrespect Aquaman! He controls the fish! From this opening, the only power I see Batman possessing is the ability to pick up hitchhikers.

  • "Their mission, to fight injustice, to right that which is wrong... and to serve all mankind" Words to live by!!!

  • I used to watch this every day in the 1980's. It went off the air around 1986, and I never saw it again until around 1998 when it came back on cable.

  • I love the theme song to this cartoon show. It is so powerful, yet it is so awesome at the same time!

  • This was actually the best version of the Intro.

  • @overr8edlove

all i can do is repeat myself here. I never liked them. They single handedly destroyed good shows.

  • My alarm clock plays at the beat of this song, so every morning when I wake up it's with the Superfriend's theme in my head. I had always hoped one of the villains would kill Wendy and Marvin, and Wonderdog would wander away. Their replacements weren't much better - shape of an ice cube, oh no the villain has a hair dryer!

  • paladinm93s videos are really good!

  • The cosmic legends neglected to put Green Lantern in their books, but penciled in a guy that TALKS TO FISH?!

  • I second that, we miss you Ted Knight God Bless

  • I would replace Aquaman with Green Lantern

  • God Bless you Ted Knight. You died way too soon.

  • @bruhe I wish Ted Knight would narrate my life.

  • @apvideogame

    amen to that

  • @bruhe holy shit, all these years i never realized that was his voice

  • i never really liked superfriends cause the superheros all seemed too dependent on each other to fight the simplist battles, exp. when superman says "oh oh, i better call batman"

  • ahh, saturday morning cartoons. then were the days.

  • Hahahahah! Hippies at start

  • 1973...I remember watching this when it first aired..CRAP I'm old!!!

  • @raposofan Only in the 70s.

  • this was 1973?!?!?!

  • where is the one where the superfriends try to stop the space age rock band that comes down and when there music plays, destruction happens?
