  • IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZOR

  • I don't wanna sound immature, (But I totally would) but I giggled when he said PMS :(

  • happiest1084 youve watched transformers 2, when on top of pyramids, the navy Fires Lazer technology, Thats actual technology, (Except the Transformers Those are SiFI)

  • @aznkirby001 It's a railgun, not a laser. . .

  • i don't really see the laser working in any part of this video

  • @happiest1084

Yeah, what gives. Everyone knows military lasers are either green or red.

  • @HaroldHoltCantSwim no probably not but they would at least actually set something on fire instead of this video just showing burning UAVs crashing

  • @happiest1084

    Burning bush perhaps?

  • this technology was stolen from russia after ww2

  • @7777777fresh youre a dumbass

  • @Skyrimatic the truth is that you are the one who is actualy DUMB retarded redneck , go fuck your sister .

  • @7777777fresh Whatever, bro. At least I don't have to spell "dumb" in all caps, and I can spell "actually" correctly, so you're the one who's actually DUMB, fgbgdbssnrgjbakgbkb!!! Do you understand?

  • @7777777fresh

    Your stupid as shit.

  • i love the 80's style 'sample' using threat music underlying the video

  • What is America releasing this stuff?

  • @AKSoapy29 Because we're fucking awesome.

  • @oblivionfan345Tony Good point :D

  • us has best technick in the world :)

  • haha.. i like how he states directed energy weapons are "under development"..since when? the 60's? the ruskies where doing it then...

  • @Dfooo0 Am I fucking lying?

  • and yeah america has over trillion dollars of military budget more than the rest of earth combined.....money they could of used to help humanitarian needs :( sad world.....

  • @echeneche Go hump some more trees you dirt mongering maggot infesting shit pile.

  • everyone thats critizising @xijnnijix chill ok? he was joking!!! hence the lol

  • Could this be like the computer 50 years ago? In the 30 years could this technology be in our hands? Are most lesbians butch?

  • Could this be like what the computer was 50 years ago? In 30 years could we hold these in our hands? Are most lesbians butch?

  • AMRECA GONE GOOD BYE AMERICA POLITICALY TOO WE LOVE RUSSIA AND RUSSIA TOO YOU AMERICAN KILLERS

  • Other country will pay you Billion for this technology. America will only pay you Million. Who are you doing business with?

  • @Moe7133 You are wrong. America has a huge military budget.

  • big boys laser pointer!!!!!!!!!!!11111111

  • Useless against a 2.5 mach Russian cruise missle....

  • @bufallobiff I didnt realize mach 2.5 was faster than a laser. But no worries US still has RIM-162 ESSM and Phalanx CIWS. Supersonic cruise missles are nothing to US military.

  • @jon780 Typical American attitude. I think that if you actually check, you;ll find that the US Navy is very concerned about its'lack of an ability to counter these weapons. Admiral Timothy Keating, who heads the U.S. Pacific Command, told the House Armed Services Committee last month that “we are currently not as capable of defending against that missile as I would like.”

  • You may fire when ready.

  • cool man! i just did a similar story today! :)

  • The light it burns!! lol

  • i hope they sell it on eBay .. lewl

  • lets grill some commies!

  • This isn't technically a laser gun like you kids are thinking, rather think of it as a 'sentry gun' that can track aircraft, automatically calculate the angles to aim ahead, and shoot down an aircraft with a rather small minigun (compared to those big 20mm cannons).

  • PMS - Post Menstrual Stress XD

  • I still think that the phalanx/centurion ciws is more cost effective, the power needed for this thing would be extreme.

  • How long till we have to scrap it to pay for OWE-bamas Communist death-care system.

  • heavy photon beam laser !!

make a plasma gun and BFG 9000 :)

  • CHINALAKE CALIFORNIA IS WHERE THEY TEST YOUR DOOM CHINA! MUWHA!

  • Independence, Freedom, Democracy, Justice, and Human Rights for Vietnam!

Độc Lập, Tự Do, Dân Chủ, Công Lý và Nhân Quyền cho Việt Nam!

Free all Vietnamese Patriots! Free them immediately!

  • Why were all the targets black? Hmmmm?

  • @gregrutz Why, for stealth of course. Um, err, uh... Except against lasers, dang it.

  • first in ships then you have a death star!!!

  • that is so awesome :O i want a LaWS

  • Sickneing.

  • leftovers of regans star wars program

  • Yeah, don't forget you almost need an nuclear reactor to power it up.... also who came up with the PMS name ... haha!

  • estos laser ya no sirven frente al sistema plasma ....

    investiguen...

  • estos laser ya no sirven frente al sistema plasma ....

  • '

dont have to show this video,,,

ussr russia / china can copy steal from this america navy

  • Directed Energy Warfare Office. Yup. We have one of those. Welcome to the future, folks. (Also, the internet.)

  • looks the same as goal keeper (c wiz)

  • Is that music from Terminator 2? Reminds me of the music playing during the chase scene in the canals.

  • All this technology is developed with billions of American tax payers money for the sole benefit of Israel in order for the Jews to protect their hideout state from their pissed on neighbors. It will not be used to defend whatever it is the U.S. remains.

  • is it works over heavy rain?

  • Hehe this cracks me up! What they are calling a UAS are model airplanes. Ok, currently low tech counter measures by 2nd world countries does include using model airplanes with cameras on them, so this will kill those... but then so will a shotgun!

  • Just imagine one of these mounted on a satellite. Few complications, but still a crazy idea =P.

  • Great system for a CAVU day and no salt spray on the lenses. Fuck, really! Nice toy kids, don't get it dirty!

  • I'd like to see the LaWS in a wavelength that could be seen by the naked eye, just for kicks. I'm sure having a non-visible, presumably infrared-spectrum beam is intentional and probably necessary, but just imagine a green beam as bright as the sun haha

  • This is a list of open murders by the German BND which is the renamed GESTAPO:

    Uwe Barschel(politician),Jürgen Möllemann(politician),Heiner Gehring(author),Martina Pflock(political activist),Tron (internet activist),Karl Koch(political/internet activist),Bernd Seiffert(human rights activist),Kirsten Heisig(author/judge),Fritz Bauer(persecutor of the Frankfurt Auschwitz processes),Markus Bott(human rights activist).

    See my channel and homepage.

  • Already has been tested on a ship....twice.

  • My neighbors kid makes lasers in his garage from spare parts. He is in the 4th grade. He is always making other strange weapons and fuckin me up with them. I feel like Mr. Wilson on "leave it to beaver". That little asshole is gonna be rich one day. Oh, swear to god he aced his IStep test and is math guru.

  • too many acronyms to keep track of

  • every one is white

  • @USAmilitarypower Anything the US military shows us is far more weaker than the actual weapon they have. I suspect the F-35 is a setup and the real power of it has been hiding away. But there's an Asian guy there, so no everyone is not white!

  • anything the military has that they dont want to tell is far more advanced than what they show us, why would they risk revealing to the enemy what they got.

  • I broke a LaWS

  • oh shit. pms?!?! dont ever give this to a girl or she will fucking destroy your ass.

  • Check out my homepage for further experiments using laser. There are several easy to do examples to split the beam, modulate on of the two and then recombine them to produce low frequency beats. These beats should be able to induce currents into the body to transmit sound or steer muscles if used with high power lasers. You dont even need a laser, this can be done with ordinary light and heat radiation as well. The double slit experiment mostly is done with an ordinary light source.

  • If Americans ever wake from their stupor and revolt against the military industrial planet gobbling machine, this is one of the weapons that the murderers will use to squash it. We are screwed.

  • @smujismuj Yeah it's like the inmates of the prison are paying the guards to imprison one em. That is US>

  • PMS is something you *Don't* want to screw around with.

  • PMS tracks targets and engages them

  • "Project Nik" as in Nikola Tesla! B-)

  • I really hope these will be included in the T-800's when they come out soon.

  • Notice the background music sounds similar to the "Terminator" score.

  • thumbs up if vsauce got u here!

  • @AbercrombieBoi777 Thumbs down if it didn't

  • Air craft will soon need a mirror armor coating. Lol!

  • @xijnnijx most powerful weapon in the world. rosie o donnel giving birth.

  • @xijnnijx Mirrors don't even work against high powered lasers, they can't reflect enough of the energy fast enough before melting.

  • @Zeropointbug just a joke :p

  • @xijnnijx lol that wont even work its not light its ionised hydrogen particals getting shot so its a chemical laser and if im wrong that laser will melt the mirror coating

  • @xijnnijx and also chemical lasers have so much energy that it will melt the morror coating no proplem

  • @yo90bosses haha i was confused what this was a reply to....i left it almost 5 months ago but yeah . Just a joke.

  • It's like a mini Death Star!

  • That is the same voice as the one in Doom's briefing videos!

  • Best. cigarette. lighter. ever

  • Right now I know what my weapon of choice is if there's a zombie apocalypse

  • how will it do if the target is moving super sonic speed will it be able to keep up on its target

  • yes i know the projectiles cost money but still what would happen when we run out of oil ? how will we charge the weapons ? with a massive wind farm on the boat?

  • I wonder if the name of the location 'China Lake' was a coincidence?

  • There really isn`t any money in helping people, but there`s billions in hurting them. Just ask Raytheon, L3, and Bell-Textron.

  • they are just in humane basters that onlythink on there self, we got to find a way to destroy those bitches so many are hungry in the world and all they think is to destroy humans, plus you got somes stupid fools joining the military

  • @skinntoski I only condone what they're doing because it's advancing science. Aside from that, you're right. But supporters aren't the people at fault! Just remember that please ^^

  • Even an imperfect mirror will reflect *most* of the energy from the laser. That should greatly reduce the damage to the target while also posing a serious threat to whatever the mirror is reflecting the beam at, which could very well be the laser itself. It would not take much to damage the laser, I'm thinking. However, if the target can be engaged by the beam far enough out, the additional distance reflected back could prevent reciprocal damage for a short time.

  • are you stupid how could you coment on some shit like that were is your brain

  • hopefully the enemy dont have no mirrors!

  • @dionf23

No perfect mirror exists, so even if they did have mirrors it would just take slightly longer for the laser to destroy it. Basically nothing can reflect ALL of the energy the laser is throwing at it.

  • @bmw121 how do you know that no perfect mirror exists, and the time it would take for the laser to eventually destroy it, little is it may be would be sufficient time enough for damage to be inflicted upon either the laser or the retaining vessel.

  • @dionf23

Conservation of Momentum! Some light/energy will always be absorbed by the medium no matter how reflective the surface. Even a Dielectric Mirror is only 99.99% reflective. The amount of energy this Laser throws would deform and possibly destroy a mirror. Just because light is reflected away doesn't mean the energy/ heat from the laser isn't being absorbed.

  • Comment removed

  • @bmw121 IN WHAT TIME.... ITS FOR SO LITTLE TIME!!!! ..... frankly im disgusted with the education you young ones are given these days...

  • @dionf23

I get confused with the words discussed and disgusted too. Idiot.

  • @bmw121 did you not notice that i had immediately removed that comment and changed it with disgusted, or did your brain stop processing information because its lacking in size and you failed to notice that

  • @bmw121

As for refocusing the beam back at the ship. it is hard enough to shoot at a moving object, to try and reflect a beam from a moving object back at the origin would be very difficult ( not saying its impossible) but the energy would be significantly less.

It is common knowledge that a perfect mirror doesn't exist on our planet right now.

  • yhis is leftover starwars tech

  • USarmy,number ONE!

  • I would stick one on my car.

If some turd is dumbly driving in front of me I would smoke him.

and if an rude person keeps tailgating me I would pop his tires ore rost him medium to well done.

    harr harr harr

  • @CAESARbonds I'd stick this in front of my Motor bike Totaly badass

  • I read a on pop sci that the now have lasers that cut 2000 ft a second. Thats crazy.

  • I can already think of a counter-weapon... a mirror attached to the aircraft that will reflect the beam back at the laser weapon xD

  • @C4Chaos42

No perfect mirror exists, so even if they did have mirrors it would just take slightly longer for the laser to destroy it. Basically nothing can reflect ALL of the energy the laser is throwing at it.

  • haha PMS

  • Now, they can destroy a UFO! rsrs!

  • i wouldnt doubt it if this technology was around 30 years ago or so ...governments always keep this type a shit a secret

  • @johnsmith221214 Tesla talked about this stuff back in the 1900's. Government got smart and adapted it to their arsonal.

  • Better hope someone doesn't take control of that technology from a remote location and use it against Western interests ...

  • what company develops these ??

  • @XSpectre118X nah i think there will be found a defense to this weapon.surely there is a good material that can be applied as a layer on the aircraft and minimize laser damage

  • @frizstyler make the uav out of Mirrors

  • @venomspot won't help....conventional mirrors do not reflect this laser very well, the mirrors that do are expensive and the tiniest defect or dirt particle would cause it to fail...

  • @gettavid The difference is that the mirrors that make this laser work are very very clean to avoid being damaged by the power they make. Mirrors outside in normal air would be too dirty to effectively reflect the beam.

  • pms? really? they couldnt think of anything else?

  • There was a small Indian boy in that plane...

  • i stood in front of that thing

  • HOOYA NAVY! Damn as an FC, I'm COMPLETELY excited!

Can you see it a lazer coming out of it when it fires like when you use a lazer pointer?

  • @slave2misery Probably not on an aircraft really far away, or during the day. At night, expect the thing to send a nice thick red line off into the distance.

  • now we can fight the aliens :P

  • hmmm then they complain climate is changing (*sigh*) . Gf russia America is gonna kick ur ass :)

  • ah fuck, so we're in the futuristic times now eh?

  • @Fuckmania07 im pretty sure it would act to pass through it,a high concentrated beam of light would hypathectially reflect, but if it strong enough,it would heat the surface of ANYTHING and attemp to pass through. Though, some things like radiation, and lead, radiation has little if no possibly to pass through lead blocks amazingly.

  • Amerrrica, fuck yeah!

  • If we mounted these on the Iowa Class Battleship could this perhaps make them a more deadly force to be reckoned with if chosen to be engaged by an aerial attack?

  • @Wahsayah still have to dealwith a bb biggest weakness....... what come upunder it

  • @wolfhunter1988 Yeah but if you eliminate the main threat of aerial attack then you can just have submarines escort it or has some destroyers scouting out along side to help it with ASW.

  • the devil at work.

  • Sea wizz~

  • fuck all UFOs if it is caught aging with these laser's .fucking gay UFOs.

  • holy fuck america is badass.

  • Lol.. PMS 495... hehehe

  • better start paint aircraft with a mirror reflect =)

  • @vide0viwer **ching ching** fuckin dragon is dead

  • Deep magazine? I thougth you wouldent have to reload a lazer weapon. mabye recharge the batterys but not reload it.

  • I can create 3 low cost methods to defeat this weapon today. Star Wars! really. what a waste of money.

  • @MrJwinner

Dont tell me you wanna use a mirror...

  • PMS-405? Really? ha

  • Whoever wrote the script for this needs to go on a course. He seems to think that we're interested in acronyms, buzzwords, names of facilities, departments and partners. "Hey bud, a laser death-beam? That's an interesting story!" "Yeah, but not as interesting as how we made the name of our programming team into a pronounceable acronym. I'm gonna concentrate on that in the press release. Sexy!"

  • good bye kevlar hello aluminum foil

  • Too bad there wasn't a mirror on the drones. (100% Spell Reflection)

  • Down a drone plane sure, but can it slice cheese or open a can of beer? That's the real Challenge our world needs to be addressed by technology.

  • Down a drone plane sure, but can it slice cheese or open a can of beer? That's the real Challenge our world needs to be addressed by technology.

  • That's cool. I want one so I get revenge on my annoying neighbors for tipping over my mail box, but I'll wait until they make a version compatible with Mac :P

  • i hear frled somali is tasty

  • @davhiet55 only if you like dark meat.

  • But wil it blend?

  • The Chinese will steal this technology and builed thier own out of cheap plastic and toxic lead paint for about $200... you just wait and see. :-(

  • It would melt a mirror.

  • Now that we have shared our secret/special weapons with the rest of the world/enemies included.

  • Gee, it looks like it will really save money on ammo, and only need about 50 techs to operate it! Works really well on model; targets doing about 30 miles per hour! That should work really well against 15 ton supersonic jets.

Hey, I have an even better idea! Why not just throw money at the model planes? Oh. I get it. We already are.

  • What's the deal with this music? Can barely hear the guy

  • looks scary...

  • what if they use a mirror as a shield against that laser weapon?

  • Hey, I know that 20mm cannon, it's in Crysis. Uhuhuh

  • I think it's cute when people don't understand how the world works. Regardless, this weapon system is awesome.

  • so we have a mini and portable death star now? holy shit. welcome to 2011. thank god this wasnt around when hitler was in power O.o
