Sens fan here, but I like the North Stars, hopefully Dallas moves (Wisconsin would make a sick rivalry, and could actually support a team) so the Wild can become the North Stars again
I have an odd question, why when the Wild came back did they not try to follow the history of thebNorth Stars who for a long time where very successful,a similar nickname or color sceme
I try to post this wherever I can. Norm Green was making money in MN. He moved them team because of the sexual harassment suit. His wife was so embarrassed that she threatened to leave him if he did not move the team. It was either lose the team during the eventual divorce or move.
As a north star fan who attended many games (as many as I could afford as a young man) I miss being able to take my kids and grandkids to the game. The wild will never replace the north stars. As far as the wild never leaving, they and other teams will always leave unless communities give them new and better arenas to play in. I enjoy sports, but not being held hostage by the greed of the owners.
they certantly wont be the last team to move cuz of finnantail trouble . Especailly scince the Phoenix Coyotes are in finnantail trouble and roomers are spreading around that the coyotes will move to Winnipeg or Hamilton
Too bad the phase two plans for Mall of America couldn't place the skating rink in the exact spot where the Met Center rink used to be. After all, home plate from Metropolitan Stadium is located in the Nickelodeon Universe amusement park. Just a suggestion from a tourist.
There was no way in hell that the Stars should have left Minnesota! They had an unlikely rum to the Stanley Cup Finals just 2 years prior to this that made the organization nothing but money right up until their departure.Norm Green made a business decision which benefitted him considerably,
they left because the faggot norm green didnt understand that fans loved other parts of the game many would rather pay 3 bucks and go see a high school game between the 2 bloomington schools then pay 40 bucks to watch the north stars lose... he wanted a brand new arena in a economic downfall when the stars couldnt win a game for their life... he also had the minnesota PD on him for sexual harassment he needed a way out... dallas was the solution
@PittsburghSteelersTS exactly what hockey freak is saying it was a bad time to have a dumbass running the whole thing and don't rip on minnesota because have you ever lived here how bout you get a pair and lay hockey with me and my brothes and we will show you how real minnesotans play ..... oh and pittsburgh suck
Owner wanted a stadium built for him. Didn't get it fast enough and moved the team. Your Penguins were about to be folded or moved in spite of having Lemiuex and Jagr in the late 90s. Sadly these things happen in modern sports.
The Dallas Stars should go back to their old uniform, but modify it a little so you know they're still the Dallas Stars. I hate our uniforms. "College football jersey." lol.
the wild will never move they have sold out 400 games in a row their city has been named hockeytown by SI the NHL wouldnt allow them to move they almost banned the North Stars from moving they only were allowed to move because they promised Minnesota they would get a new team when the NHL expanded again
and anyways this video isn't about the wild its about the north stars
All of what you said is true except the fact remains in 1991-1993 the fans wewre uninterested in the Stars ie not coming to games eventhough tickets were heavily discounted and so on and so on. Norm Green had every right to move the team to Dallas and was right to do so.
that is true but many minnesotans were going through a rough financial time and many were annoyed with green who want a new rink or a skyway connecting the met to MOA which would have costed as much as a new rink
@Airman241 They definitely could not use the green and yellow since Dallas has it, and they can't have "star" in their name for the sake reason.
