It wasn't broken down. The Comet model was deemed unairworthy by the FAA, so Dick couldn't move it after it landed. He was swindled, because he didn't do his homework. I was his helicopter pilot in '78 and '79. Among other duties, I shuttled celebs and Miss Nude America contestants between O'Hare gate H1 and Naked City. It was a tough job - seriously! The sounds coming from the back seats made it difficult to concentrate on flying. I liked Dick. He treated me well. I hear he's passed on.

Drost had a rare DeHavilland Comet airplane that sat broken-down at O'Hare for many years, until it was scrapped in the early '90s.
