@SuperYellow1989 People probably started smiling in photographs once they became an instant, or at least semi-instant, process. In the early days, you would have to pose for a photograph in the same way you would for a painted portrait, so smiling the entire time wasn't really feasible.
David makes a joke here about the Police bullying Community Service Officers - he also has a sketch or two about this on Mitchell + Webb look. Which came first, I wonder?

I have one problem with David Mitchell hosting shows like this. That is, he can't participate as a contestant. I would love to hear what he would come up with :)
@TumshieX I think David Mitchell is perfect as a host: he's so witty and quick, and in the rare moments when he gets stumped, he's hilarious about it. That said, he would be brilliant as a contestant, too! ^_^
