  • these fluids are called non-Newtonian fluid they really are cool

  • now add green die and its flubber!!

  • It hit him in the balls

  • cornstarch and water

  • i don't now man, for laptops and other electronic low g force, low speed issue this may work. but i am not wearing anything made with this until the organization that certified ce armor, certifies this.

  • I really want someone to shoot d3o SO much!

  • Silly Putty did this years ago

  • This material is great and all but... Lol... "take a ball of gue, roll it up into a ball"... Or "if I simulate energy" ...and he said molecules and react too many times.. Anyone more than me who feels like this spokesman has a list of words he tries to use as much as possible?

  • Close call 1:24

  • I rubbed some in my hair and now everytime my wife hits me on the head with a frying pan, I don't feel a thing, thankyou d30

  • "where else can i take a material like that and bounce it" hmmmmm..... SILLY PUTTY

  • @TunioMir thats because silly putty was originally ment to be this. this company just perfected the formula

  • @lancer081292 i see

  • it looks like the orange stuff from portal 2

  • will it blend?

  • can i get this stuff in putty form

  • Silly putty!! Someone just figured out another way to use silly putty.

  • I would line better armor in it. but not use it by itself. like make it an outer layer for hard plastic bike armor, and an inner layer for comfort... but i wouldnt use it by itself, especially not that thin of material

  • MAXIMUM ARMOR

  • I would like to buy pads of this stuff and line my helmets with it. Where can i buy the pads?

  • It's the goo from portal 2

  • will it blend?

  • When will i be able to buy it like in baker jackets will it also be produced in military jackets or police riot things!

  • is it Ape Proof?

  • make me a ninja suit out of that, and i shall fight crime.

  • @PRocker320 /watch?v=fiq2Hxl5zx4&feature=player_embedded

  • Where else can I take a ball of goo and form it into a ball and bounce it off the floor? How about the dollar store. Silly putty has those exact same properties.

  • thats sick i wont it

  • it's all cool and all, but is it sarcasm proof?

  • SillyPutty on steroids

  • What if i Stab you very slowly?

  • im curious to see finish product (solidified one) acting with stress .....

Im not quite sure it will still benefit as the soft version is. Non neutonian isn't soft and isn't solid....

  • It's called silly putty.

  • Will it blend, that is now the final question

  • @JoseAcqua as it turns out, it does on tuesdays

  • and this d30 flubber is not even the same thing that comes into your protection device...this is just some cool display to convince a bunch of yuppy jackasses..

  • lol it's flubber

  • "were else can you take a material like this and as soon as it strikes it produces a rebound" these people haven't plaid with silly putty

  • when it's in small slices it looks like chedder cheese, that can play a cruel and funny joke on someones sandwich? lol

  • @tacomonster98

It doesn't look like any cheddar cheese I've ever seen. Looks more like burger cheese. Which ironically isn't really cheese at all in my book.

  • probably not bullet proof...

  • silly putty.... and the padding is just a normal rubber-plastic pad not anything like the d30 aka sillly putty

  • silly putty demonstrates the same non-newtonian behaviour .. stretch it slowly and it demonstrates plastic deformation . stretch it (strain it) quickly and stops demonstrating plastic deformation and ultimately demonstrates brittle fracture. You can learn alot about what makes this d30 substance by wiki'ing for silly putty

  • at 1:25 almost hit him in the balls

  • weird...

  • shiny silly puddy

  • so it is orange silly puddy

  • Will d3o be available in cars soon?

  • Bad presentation but good work to finally introduce the advantages of non newtonian substances to public.

  • d3o = flubber XD

  • can d30 stop a bullet?????????????????????

  • where can i buy this in the putty form i wanna play with it like silly putty but it sorta is silly putty

  • @Hyzing

Silly putty oddly enough is in the same classification, there vary similar polymer compounds both are Non-Newtonian.

  • it is just bounceing puty

  • im thinking bulletproof vest or knife vest

  • if it had AI it the orange version of XT1000 from T2

  • Yea I cant wait to add it to my superhero outfit. Gonna be great for those dumb asses who attack me from behind. Bat's hurt, not anymore

  • i thought that non Newtonian fluids had to be a fluid to be non Newtonian!?!

  • Sillypudy

  • It's visco-elastic based on something called shear thickening fluids..it's gonna be used in near-future body armor (bulletproof) and stuff like that.

Fro what I've read its silicon nano-particles in Polyethylene glycol or something like that.

  • to answer your silly question about where else to find such a material: walmart toy section look for silly putty :p

  • this is silly putty...

  • like an industrial silly putty

  • Is it stab proof?

  • ditto

  • @SethHesio Sorta. It would stop a quick jab, but not a slow injection.

Watch him hit it. When it hits it, it stops his fist, but then his fist just slowly falls into it.

It's called a non-newtonian fluid. It is not silly putty.

  • @ImSpartacus811 A non-newtonian fluid varies its viscosity with increasing tension or deformation speed. This concept does not consider elastic behavior. Silly Putty ans d3o are viscoelastic materials, like all polymers, but they are engineered to maximize this characteristic. When presure is aplied slowly, they flow, they behave like a fluid but when the pressure is suddenly applyed they behave elastically.

  • @SethHesio yea even if someone hits u with a sledge hammer u wont feel that much

  • @lala91324 Ofcourse you will, the same way as if you had a huge suit of armor, the kinetic energy just travels through the material and into you like a shockwave. This happens because it hardens super fast and becomes very hard.

If it was like clay and much thicker, it would slow it down and absorb the energy in itself and not just channel it into you...

Even if it removed the pain itself, you would probably still be thrown backwards of the momentum...

Cheers *no hard feelings i hope =)*

  • @solitajre222 i said wont feel that much* i didnt say u wont feel a thing . . . . .. if ur suppose to feel the force of 2 wearing that thing may decrease the force makeing u feel only the force of 1 or smth so yea . . .. . as i said "U wont feel THAT* much" and as you said CHeers no hard feeling for sure : )

  • @lala91324 =) Glad to hear it =)

  • @SethHesio yes!

  • @SethHesio nope

  • @SethHesio

Well obviously you could put a knife through it as long as you do it slowly, I'm wondering if it is bullerproof?

  • @Mickunltd stabbing someone slowly doesn't really work though... I know what you mean though. I wonder if its ape proof.

  • @SethHesio

    ofcourse no

  • @SethHesio no it's mostly for falls

  • @SethHesio yes, anything that is fast and hard that thing will absord almost all the power...since this is for civilians idk if it can be "BULLET PROOF".

  • silly putty molds and bounces :P

  • yeah that's exactly what it is but a better form

  • It's a non newtonian material, just like corn starch mix we can walk on

  • its just a material that is really viscous

  • Technically it doesn't "lock up when struck", it's "hard" in short timescales (when things are getting hit), but soft in larger timescales that us poor humans live in.

If you want to know the reason why, it's basically a solid and a liquid at the same time! At any one snapshot in time it's a solid, but over time the bonds switch places and the atoms move like a liquid.

  • where can you buy d30 in it soft form? get back to me asap

  • D3o Armor is not available by itself.

  • @ChromeWorldInc Where can we buy the sheet version from?

  • The soft form is really just silly putty.

  • @Huntington188 You can get it in the forms of protective suits that you wold use for motorbiking and such. They make a couple of d3o ski racing armor suits but those are usually sold out all the time.

  • @Huntington188

Buy a bunch of D3O clothing.

    Extract the armor.

    ????

    Profit!

  • @typesix

    lololol

  • @typesix Easier:

Contact friends in companies related to clothing manufacturing

Order what you need bit by bit

    ???

    IRON MAN SUIT! XD
