Why does this movement remind me of Lost Woods from Legend of Zelda? I'm just visualizing running through a forest and this song just fits perfectly. Maybe the music developers were inspired by this song, after all, it's a classic.
I still have this music..... hey I played clarinet, flute and percussion.... although Clarinet is an awesome instrument and I own a Bb and Eb clarinet as well as a flute.
anyways this song is awesome for Eb clarinet! this song brings back memories.
I love this playing this piece, especially the Eb part, which is great. Oh and this performance is excellent, light and full of vim. I have to disagree with those who say this is too slow, this tempo is just right in my opinion. Any faster and it would just lose, well, its Englishness!
@doubleoh18 This is actually pretty much the speed it's meant to be played at if I'm not mistaken. Besides, fast does not always mean better, personally I prefer it this speed, but you may have very different preferences than I.
@Keira13 Oboe too, but they're usually too quiet to hear under a clarinet and trumpet...we tried using just the oboe solo at this section during one of our rehearsals this weekend, and it was just not loud enough.
@yeahhimynameiscool hey there, the rest of the piece is posted earlier, I just had to re-post this movement because it was not playing in some countries. I left links to the other movements in the information section. :)
@musicguy119 Oh heck yeah anything Holst writes has very good clarinet parts...And challenging as well, testing the ranges of the 2nd and 3rd clarinets
Odd, I am playing the solos on the trumpet in our arrangement?

this is my absolute favourite solo I've ever played
but you don't really hear the clarinet in this recording (at the beginning anyway)
it's clarinet/cornet I believe.
clarinet ftw <3
