  • 2:17 - this verse of the song has been copied from ITV's Midweek Football highlights that used to be shown between 1988-1992 every wednesday nights. Ive searched everywhere for proof, but I will find some soon.

  • @carpdiem88 I think that tiny sample you're referring to is from a James Brown song - I have it on his album "70s Funk Power".

  • eric prydz remix is totally different than the original. it had a completely different flavour to it

  • Menos mal que nos pones la letra, tio...Mil gracias!

  • the shadows - apache 1960

    original flavour.....

  • Why don't you people know anything about music ?

  • Man the apache break is on hundreds of songs.

But yeah, it was originally the Incredible Bongo Band

  • Listen - The Original mix WAS done by The Incredible Bongo Band and sampled by many other artists since..inc Sugarhill Gang....

So there you go..Thats the fact of it !!

  • The original was NOT done by IBB (although yes thats where the break comes from). The true original was... THE SHADOWS!

  • The title Apache did come from The Shadows, but its the break we`re talkin about fella and the Original break WAS from IBB as we both know :)

  • song is called apache by the sugar hill gang

  • its "jump on it" sugar hll gang

  • valt da mee, valt da mee...hoor je het??? ;-))

  • that sounds like "jump on it" by sir-mix-alot.

i remember cause it was on an episode of the 'the fresh prince of bel-air :P

  • Can anyone please tell me the name of a hip-hop track from years ago that uses the Apache sample @ 1:47??????

  • I think it's the Incredible Bongo Band.

  • retard. its sugarhill gang

  • The Sugarhill Gang sampled it from the Incredible Bongo Band, who made it in 1973. And be polite, man. You don't know who I am so don't call me a retard. Your cursewords only show your lack of intelligence. This is what Wikipedia says : 'In 1981, the rap group Sugarhill Gang covered the Incredible Bongo Band version of the song (Apache by the Shadows), on their second album 8th Wonder. In addition to using the distinctive beat and bongo drums, the Sugarhill Gang added rap lyrics on top.'

  • But I see he asked the name of the hiphopband who sampled it. Sugarhill Gang did it, Sir Mix a Lot, Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash and even Vanilla Ice used it. So you're right too.

  • sugarhill gang

  • Tunes called Apache, cant remember who its by, Wasn't it something to do with The Shadows, Roy Orbisson or someting?

    Fuck knows, happy hunting!

    T.

  • eric prydz remix of this is epic!!!

  • I think the Eric Prydz version is nice, but the original is by far the best version I've heard!

  • it depends on your musical preference , to me the prydz version is superior :)

  • Yep, the original is a work of art...I heard the original "Apache" guitar riff during a baseball game and I had to run to my computer and listen to this mix 5 times. Killer mix!!

  • @Eternalglow Eric better :-)

  • @Eternalglow Eric better :-) but original is good too

  • @Ikkepop erixc prydz remix is pure shite man

  • @Ikkepop i like , that means it's good

  • @Ikkepop Eric prydz remix is the commercial version for the kiddies that never been to a real party. This one is for the die-hard sunglasses wearing spacemonkeys.

  • @Silverhazed that doesn't make me enjoy the remix any less

  • like this;)

  • santander santander!

  • Yeah!!! I know this track by The S-Man... is great!!

  • lol

  • good tune but not a fan of squelchy base and it sounds outta place, this would be so sick if the base was changed - except all the remixes suck

  • Comment removed

  • if you where at an music festival and this came on youd love it the bass sounds class loud.

its a class tune at the dancing.

  • @ferahl There was a remix of this which was pretty much the same track without the squelchy bass. I think it was remixed by the Beatmasters, but not 100% on that

  • cheesy its the 60s ^^

  • No theyre saying 'Bummed a gay bummed a gay, bummed a gay bummed a bummed a bum bummed a gay i bummed a gay..." :D

  • first heard this on maximum bass 2 the next level cd was mental

  • F**k the eric prydz remix!!

Original is the best by far. Love it.

  • couldn of bein a deadmau5 sample this tune came out in 04/05 2yrs b4 deadmau5

  • Does any1 detect a very small sample of Deadmau5 at the veryyyyyy end?????

can't pick out what track it is, but it's on his nu album!

    Slip?

  • Comment removed

  • man you're right. It's on his last release "Slip" but actually it's the other tune on it "Sometimes Things Get, Whatever"

    :-)

  • yeah i listened to the album the other day and noticed it agen,

makes you wonder what is completely unique these days ey !!!

  • Its not a deadmau5 sample.

  • Comment removed

  • this record was released in 2005 before Deadmau5! I like deadmau5 an all- but I'm sick of everyone thinking acting like he invented electronic music or is the best artist ever or something- he has a couple go songs- after that they all sound sort of similar -do yourself a favor and start listening to other artists too- instead of just stalking deadmau5

  • yehhhhh.... did i say that Dave nicked it from Joel... er nooo... i just said it was the same fucking sound.... stop tryna sound all 'underground' and thinkin you know all the next 'big stuff'... I listen to plenty of decent stuff besides him... do yourself a favour and get into Far Too Loud, Hedflux, Drop The Lime, Jack Beats and Kasabian's nu stuff... that's some propa decent shit!
