  • Love it

  • Man this performance is so much better than the Atlanta performance on DVD.

  • I love this song!

  • Not gonna lie, i maybe hit up this song once or twice a week. one of my favorite police songs of all time

  • This song is amazing

  • STING COULD HAVE BROUGHT A WHOLE GENERATION UP ON SMART songs, if he never wanted to be so much of a tosser accordind to j barnes, somehow barnsey has a great point!

    i bet police agree!

  • barnsey reckons this guy is a toss.

    good enough 4 me!

    talented but.

  • RIP Michael Jackson.

  • i sing 2:43- 3:00 all day long....totally awesome

  • totally awesome

  • Actually, I would add that he, to me, is a percussionist.

  • Stewart is one of the top 50 drummers of all time. And that position is within AL:L genres of music. He's mega dope. That's my soul up there!!

  • holy shit what a song!

  • Sting looks incredibly attractive in this video.

  • Holy fuck!Do these three dudes rock or what?

  • I love the lyrics so much.

  • Sting was a very sucessful solo artist after he left the police...it was Stewart and Copeland that I never heard of after the police split up...so, for that reason, I consider your comment invalid as it seems Sting was very sucessful on his own whereas the other 2 weren't nearly as sucessfull(at least enough for me or many other people to hear of any new work Stewart/Copeland were doing after the police).

  • dont care what no one fucking says this song is the shit and u better start liking it, it will be around forever!!!

  • i dont care what anyone says this song is the shit wether you like it or not!!!!!

  • Cant split this and Roxanne as their best. What do we think??

  • Great vid...btw...this is off-topic, but I'd like to let everyone out there reading this know the Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting 70 million Falun Gong practitioners for 10 years in China. The media doesn't cover it. It must stop, so they can be free like we are here. Thanks.

  • he is hottt lol

  • unforgetable!! :D

    the police...a group of legend!!

    absolutly genious!!!!!

  • personally i hate sting.

i try not to like the police because of this.

but they are so fucking amazing

  • i dont know weather to give that a thumbs down or up

    ur neurotic!!! lol

  • Sting Rocks.

  • I. Love. Sting.

    And this song.

    And the Police.

  • If Sting was wrong there were creative differences, what ever happened to Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers after the breakup? Should the creative one be calling the shots?

    Just a thought..

  • king of suede

  • Great song, but for the one off the Synchronicity Concert DVD from the Omni in Atlanta 1983 is the best version.

  • eu amo o sting

  • <3 this song

  • right around the one minute mark he remembers "dune" and makes the harkonen face !

  • i love this song..its so mellow, but its amazing!

  • wow i heard the mudvayne veersion first which is of course gonna be kick ass but i thought the orginal would be horrible but actually this isnt that bad never really got into 80s music since i wasnt even born back then but this is alright

  • Sting looks like he's been on the robbers and thugs. Few hard nights on the tiles

  • Is that Idi Amin at 1:20 ?

  • there's a little black spot on the sun today

  • "this songs called king of pain or in english king of wrecked"

  • He is making a joke. He said "This song is called 'King of Pain', or in English 'King of Bread'." In French the word for bread is "pain". I hope that clears it up.

  • Thanks

  • Sting was getting devorced from his 1st wife when he wrote this song. Creativity resides in his chakras. He also reads alot of books. For an English man he does alot of yoga, likes krishnamurthi and meditates. May the force of kundalini be with you Police man !

  • Aside from the genius of his music, this is one of the reasons I love Sting so very much. He and I are both on the same page. I've been practicing meditation for more than 20 yrs on and off. I'm working on improving my discipline so that I can be more consistent with this science.

  • anyone??? whats he say in the beggining there??, sorry my hearing sux

  • this is called king of pain or in english king of bread. pain = bread in french

  • "This song is called King of Pain. Or in English, King of Bread."

I think that's it. Bread or rent. Both painful subjects I guess lol

  • there's a little black spot on the sun today

  • its the same old thing as yesterday

  • bweb kant sppell n e ting righnt

  • And i think that we don't care .

  • this song is so good. i havent heard this song in years!

  • 1.19....miming, lip sink, not the police surley

  • He didn't lip sync..

  • Is this the performance where Stewart broke Sting's rib in a fight? they all look very pale and tired

  • whhhhhhhhaaaaaaaat? they got into fistfights?

  • Their is a black cat up in a high tree top

    Its my soul up their

Their is a flagpole rag and the wind wont stop

    Its my soul up their

Their is a little black spot on the sun today

its the same old thing as yesterday...

    This song is so beautiful

  • There's a little black spot on the sun today

It's the same old thing as yesterday

    It's my soul up there

There's a black hat caught in a high tree top

    It's my soul up there

There's a flagpole rag and the wind won't stop

    It's my soul up there

... I agree with you that the song is beautiful, but please get your facts (lyrics actually) straight, 'cause I find it irritating when people make mistakes in this

    love the police (L)

  • get the lyrics right!

There's a little black spot on the sun today

    (That`s my soul up there)

It's the same old thing as yesterday

    (That`s my soul up there)

There's a black hat caught in a high tree top

    (That`s my soul up there)

    There's a flag-pole rag and the wind won't stop

    (That`s my soul up there)

  • I love the police I love this song ♥

  • Brilliant song by a brilliant band. Those lyrics are quite uplifting in a bizarre way!

  • best version of this song

  • Timeless awesome song........

  • They were teen-mag dudes but also brilliant musicians!

A good 'ol band called The Beatles were the same thing.

    Charm and talent.

    Powerful shit!

  • god i love this song. its basic but not boring, like the solo may only be a couple seconds and not really be complex but its great never the less

  • they were excellent indeed...what tore them apart? ego issues? drugs? women?

  • Ego issues

  • Power struggles. Creative differences. Yeah, pretty much ego issues. And as much as I love Sting, he was pretty much the main problem...

  • Well, is Sting was wrong about the creativity, what ever happened to Copeland and Eliott afterwards?

  • copeland became a drummer for oyterhead and other bands and the guitarist became a jazz guitarist

  • Ohh shit srry guys i didnt listen carefully.

    But love this song

  • evolution390

There's a little black star in the sun today!! AMAZING!

THERE'S A LITTLE BLACK ""SPOT"" ON THE SUN TODAY

    DAAAA

  • Truly one of the most brilliant songs Mr. Sumner has ever penned.

  • There's a little black star in the sun today!! AMAZING!

  • Spot, not star.

  • Wow! Sting is so young here. This song is one of my favorite from Police. Thank you for posting this video.

  • For cereal, I love this song.

  • why does the lead singer remind me of peter fisher in the 80s on kingswood country?

  • jesus, in 1:09, he only barely makes it to the drums in time!!! lol

  • i gues im one of the police's youngest fans, and especially in this era. but musically their amazing. i saw them in concert early this year... they were stunning.

like they'd never broken up, they are more than musicians, their legends.

  • Haha, I think I am :D

  • No sir, im 15. I win.

  • same here i saw em when i was 14... now im 15

  • same here. I think the best part about them is how they all are musicians not just sting.

  • "heroes are never forgotten but legends never die"

  • U2fan11 mach weiter so danke für die gute musik GRUSS PETER alles liebe schönen santa claus du kriegst keine rute danke für alles (musik)

  • I played this song after my girlfriend and I broke up, and after I played this once it made everything better. That's Sting and The Police for you.

  • masochists anthem

  • interesting....

  • love that guitar solo

  • Awe-some!

  • LOVE this.

  • i am the king of pain. by staying with this girl i liked, i would vanish in pain. by leaving her, as i did, i hurt her...

  • This song was always a masterpiece musically and literally to me. When I was 13, it came out and it was like hearing someone putting into perspective to the things that crushed me in life. To hear a superstar sing about it told me that I wasn't alone. Today, I'm not a fan of his politics, but where his soul was in this song, so was mine.

  • es ist mein leben POLICE ich liebe sie danke

  • ich auch

  • its my soul up there!

  • The live versions of this song always kicks it better than the recorded version. =D

  • Damn sting @ high skill

  • LOVE these Older Songs, The Police Rock

  • My favorite song by the Police! Brilliant!

  • Do these songs ever get old?? "Never"!!

Sting and The police are absolutely timeless and unmatched in their talent.

Still fresh after more than 20 years.

  • king of pain... more like king of music!

  • mudvayne and them should do a duet lol

  • I love this.

  • Salve..i police sono superiori a tutti..!!!! Specialmente quando suonano king of pain...sembrano piu una sorta di divinità piuttosto ke semplici cantanti..!!! bellaaaa...!!!!!! viva i polce...!!!!!

  • this was just four minutes of stings life.. what a pimp

  • the live version is awesome

  • He was HOT.

  • so good!

  • have a nice day

  • There's a The Police fan that cant stop listening to this song... thats my soul up there

  • there's a black hat caught in a high tree top...

  • Fantastic. I wish actual bands jumped, singed, looked and dressed(well at least in a 21th century-ish way) like these guys.

  • I'll always be... :)

  • Mudvayne made a good cover of this song.

  • this is good and all but i gotta admit i prefered mudvaynes cover

  • This is such a great Police-song. Love them! And the moment when Stewart Copeland goes to the drums.. It gives me goosebombs! Such a cool moment!

  • I love this song

  • this song is sooooooooooo me

  • WOW! Sting was very sexy in this video!

  • Sting is sexy PERIOD. Love the man and envy Trudy.

  • The Police are one of the few I can say have better live arrangements than the studio versions of their music.

  • This song is terrific!

  • screw king of pain the police are the kings of music!!!

  • The police rocks!!!

  • This is the best performance of this song. But is Sting lip-synching at 1:20?

  • This is one of my favorite police songs. it has so much meaning especially if you listen to the lyrics! though the sound and beat rocks too! They are my second favorite band!

  • かっこよすぎ

  • Stewart rocks!!!!

  • Hes such a good drummer/percussionist. Hes my fave...and the police are my fave band. :)

    Kara

  • Where are the bass drum and hi-hats Stewart is playing when he is up by the mallets at the beginning of the song.

  • stewart is my friend's dad! She looks just like him

  • wow, thats really awesome, have you met the man?

  • ya i've been in his studio and cleaned the floor of it with his daghter as a favor! LOL

  • That is awesome! Stewart is one of my favorite drummers and from what I've seen he's a really cool dude.

  • I Love MUDVAYNE's Version I can't wait to hear their Live Version Of This!

  • LOL...Old men could can't put it away.

I still love the music though!!! Maybe they needed the anger to make it in the first place.

  • this is the police in their prime, don't think you'll ever get them as good as they were in this vid if you go see em nowadays, but hey they are still the police and they rock!!!!

  • Sting was so cute.

  • sting ho solo 14 anni,ma sei un figo

  • I love u Geordies XXX

  • saw them fri.night/awesome

  • I saw them in Omaha the other night, RETIRE GUYS, no stage chemistry at all, DO THEY ALL HATE EACH OTHER??? poor show, I should have saved my money($200 to see this crap)and just watched old videos of them online, I love the Police but they just stink it up live P.S. i am a veteran of over 750 concerts

  • I disagree, I thought they where amazing

  • Yeah, for the most part, Sting and Stewart Copeland couldn't stand each other. That is the main reason why they broke up in the first place. Apparently, they still can't stand each other even now.

  • That is not right.. They broke up, because the Andy and The Stew wanted some credits too, everybody just talking about Sting AND the Police.. They wanted credits too, but Sting ment that it was HIS songs, he wrote them, whitch is right, but I think they should be known as just The Police. Have a nice day.!

  • amazing voice.

  • Sychronicity was the first album (vinyl) I bought when I was 10. Amazing how it still gives me chills to hear this stuff 25 years later!!!

  • I doubt Mudvayne thinks that their version is better. They are honoring The Police by covering their tune!

  • Stewart still had the "Fuck Off You" written on his drums in 1983. Cool!

  • they now read hug me you fool!!!

  • pictures of the people on the radio One day i switched on my radio turning about the dials of fortune and fate my life empty and old my prospects desolate when i heard the tounges of experience talking to my soul and heart and state and pictures flooded my mind who needs speakers to tell us how the world works when i see pictures of the people on the radio in my head it's getting late and i'm alone but i got a date with the people on the radio i can turn em on at all hours ain't that great
  • im too young to be saying this... but the police are cool.

  • The Most talented trio in rock history performing one of their hits (they have a shitload!). If there is one thing their reunion has shown us is what an awful direction music has taken. These guys are the masters of creativity and skill. Nobody comes close to the boys in blue, not then, not now.

  • I couldnt have said it better myself

  • Why thank you sir, they truly are one of the greats (and there really aren't that many).

  • amen

  • este tema es uno de mis favoritas junto al tema wrapped around your finger,

  • What talent, cant wait to see them before they hang it up till the next time....WOW

  • Unfortunately, I'm almost 100% sure this will be there last tour...Andy is getting too old. By the time they finish in August, they will have been on tour for almost 2 years. Thank god we got this much, because The Police were well worth the wait and money! Greatest concert I have ever seen (Seattle & Chicago)

  • maybe they will surprise us, but either way, this tour rocked

  • POLICE ROCK DA HOUZE!

  • dude the mudvayne version is better

  • If you like it more then I suggest you go listen to that version. Besides, The Police are legends and their version of King of Pain will always be the best.

  • Only if you are deaf.

  • POLICE ROCK DA HOUZE!

  • el trio mas virtuoso

  • EL TRÍO MÁS VIRTUOSO

  • Perfect!!!
