The game could have ended with a more epic fight, like a giant Dark Samus mech with all your friend's abilities. I could have been awesome! But there COULD be a Metroid Prime 4, because of the 100% end :P
Hypermissiles help me a lot on this fight. Since im not that fast a shooter, I usually get at least 1 or 2 Hypermissiles, which take about a quarter of its heath.
I found that if you have a high bar of Phazon, this is my strategy to avoid getting fully corrupted: Don't damage it! The main reason for this, is that if you keep attack weak points and the Phazon Clones, you actually start pulling the bar back to the start. It's slower than watching paint dry, but you do manage to get almost any level you had, back to 0%. I managed to defeat AU 313 and using that strategy, I only had to worry about damage, and that wasn't much to think about.
Oh you mean biding your time and getting anti-phazon orbs? That's a good strategy. My only problem is if I took that long, this video would be like 30mins long not 10 lol
Yea..... my problem is after spamming the fire button for dark samus i dont have the thumb stamina to do it for aurora unit 313 so if i get past him im near the end of my corruption bar and his next version with no health drops gets me....
First phase: Hyper missile every time she calls down crystal towers or uses the shotgun attack to cancel it and cause her to flinch, pummel with hyper beam until....
Second phase: virtually ignore the clones, screw attack during his spin attack, spam fire button at others times... i stop trying the hyper missile trick because it is too risky.
I do Aurora Unit 313 basically the same as you do, its just that dark samus hurts me so bad i cant fight both his forms.
I think this part is easy. I mean it is hard to die from this part, each time u stop an attack from the AU, u get health. When i was here on hypermode difficulty, my bar was almost full and i got most of it down from this part. Do u think this part is easy MetroidHunters?
Yeah I thought it was pretty easy as well. It's because most of AU's attacks are predictable and there really isn't a lot of changes. It's all systematic.
I still feel like the AU/Mother Brain similarities are no mere coincidence. Especially the Aurora Complex that looks like Tourian. Something sinister is definitely at work here. On another note, this giant brain is ugly! I mean, it looks like it has fangs!
I think they had you fight the Aurora Unit to make up for the fact that Mother Brain never appeared in the trilogy. So it's a pseudo-Mother Brain battle.
It ssems to me like they intended it to be deliberate refernce to Mother Bain. If you watch the MEtroid Prime 3 trailer on Aurora Units, they show plans for a future Aurora Complex that looks almost exactly like the facility in Tourain that Mother Brain was in.
Actually, they did intend the Aurura unit to look like Mother Brain. Because they were setting up that Mother Brain was a modified AU for the Pirates purposes. They were basically explaining the origin of Mother Brain.

I say free lock is more fun simply because the aim is all about you. Feels more like a FPS :)

Hmm... Should Aurora Unit 313 Marry Dark Samus?

Does your thumb get sore from firing so fast?
No seriously?
Nice vid though, awesome skill

Did you do the screw attack like I did? It could give your thumb a rest while you try and hit him xD.
Just alternate between firing and hypermissiles :) That might help.

My tactic vs dark samus is
First phase: Hyper missile every time she calls down crystal towers or uses the shotgun attack to cancel it and cause her to flinch, pummel with hyper beam until....

This looks like "MOTHER BRAIN" from Super Metroid.

I did a lot of the pointless shooting in hopes it would actually hit it when it did reveal the weak point. So I could get a head start in a way.
Glad you appreciate my humor some times xDD
Thanks!

explaining origins. AU system was put in around the time of Metroid Prime 3 and since the timeline is: Metroid, Prime Series, Metroid , and so on.
How would it explain the origin if it probably never existed before? >O
Metapalwii 2 years ago
No, the Chozo created Mother Brain and they've been around for centuries. But the GF Aurora came 20 years before Metroid Prime 3.

Hey, great job on this boss! Ever wonder why AUs bare a striking resemblence to Mother Brain?
elverg47 2 years ago
Thanks :D
Hmm...well what else could they be?
They are the central intelligence for a planet. Our central nervous system is the brain so I'd imagine the AU's will also resemble a brain.
I don't really think Retro intended it to look like Mother Brain. But it's the thing that makes most sense for it to look like.

haha, well ya learn something new every day.
I should have expected it though, as they do love recycling so much xD

Well, the 2002 manga says that Mother Brain created by the Chozo, not the Space Pirates.
