  • awesome! thank you so much!!

  • One Love buddy! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Does anyone know how to do this in Logic Pro?

  • @plagueblack use logic's instruments and fx. it is the concept he is teaching, it can be applied to any software.

  • one of the best tuts ive seen, thanks man!

  • Awesome software, but the displaying of font is a mess and hurts my eyes.

  • @Freaquence just enlarge the size of the screen its in 4K resolution

  • amazing stuff!! Thanks for that matey!!! :))))

  • seems like you are whispering, so when I turn up volume, then you play the sound it blastsss. BTW the sound you trying to articulate is called "tape echo".

  • noiceeeeeeee!

  • nice tiunes

  • SIck! Nice one, just what I was looking for

  • what video capture software are you using? its actually clear for once

  • @blaindugan I use Screenflow but since I have an iMac I could record in 4K resolutions which is higher than 1080P, because my graphics card support high resolution than 1080p it actually has recorded at the resolution size of my 27 inch iMac size monitor.

  • @atabeylive This is a so clear answer, i'm amazed!

  • Great tutorial, thanks.

  • what software are you useing

    ??

  • @GamersUnite4Life

    propellarheads FL studio 9

  • @rempleforskin :L This isnt FL Studio, its Ableton Live... Fail.

  • @rempleforskin propellerheads dont make Fl, they MAKE REASON!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GamersUnite4Life ableton live suite 8

  • really great tutorial!

  • @Baumanncito yes your right it could be done in 5 min and yes there is many different type of reverb. But of coarse as we all know what we hear everyday there are different types of reverb and since we start listening to the day of day sounds there is constant reverb. People think we never experience reverb sound in our every day life but we actually do and we actually listen in 3D not in dolby surround. We listen in a 3D spectrum style. this is very very true.

  • this sounds like progressive house

  • @askadetra It really doesnt

  • i think it sounds frigin sick... if it sounds good, then reverb in the right place or not... who cares!

  • Why do you put reverb before the delay? That just muddies your sound up

  • @Senj1n I do not know but you should ask Fingers in the Noise and many Dub techno producers, tell them that it sounds muddy

  • @atabeylive Sorry if it sounded harsh.. wasn't meant that way bro! I was just asking because I got told it the other way because it will muddy up the track. Appreciate your effort!

  • @Senj1n no you did not sound rude I just have that comment all the time from people telling me that the reverb makes the sound muddy. In reality do not listen to many people telling you things because thats not true about reverb. You have to give it the right amount subtle or not depends what you want. I just hate that people give out the wrong info to others. This is an example of bad information giving to you about reverbs.

  • @atabeylive Yeah I'd say he has a point about reverb being before delay in the effects chain. What he said may be true in conventional production but Dub, even since it's reggae roots days is known for it's overuse of delay and reverb. The long release of the reverb being thrown around by the delay actually makes for an awesome psychoacoustic stereo image, providing it's done properly.

    Nice tutorial man. Enjoyed.

  • @Senj1n another thing does it sound muddy to you that the ping pong delay is in front of the reverb I believe it doesn't

  • @Senj1n again with the same question, well lets say it gives it that deep dub echoey sound. It does not muddy your sound. Who ever told you that does not know nothing about production.

  • @Senj1n reverb and delay are basically the same thing. But reverb got faster repeat rate(and some fx). So if you put delay in front, all your delayed pongs should get reverb trail. And if you put reverb first you would get delays with reverb tail on it. There is no right or wrong as long as it sound good.

  • Very satisfying noise to make, thanks very much.

  • what software is this?

  • @dj02tc5 Ableton Live Suite 8

  • legit

    legit

    legit

  • very nice, would like to do this in REASON.

  • @tintala you could it has to do with the same technique in the reverb try to put a long decay, put a delay with some feedback and if reason has an auto filter or filter you could automate you could have some nice dub sounds always make it the filter cut off as a band pass.

  • thankyou sir... nice tute... very helpful... it lead me onto plenty of experimenting with the sounds, and adding different fx in the chain. all of which i then grouped and saved as instrument rax for chrds. and some fx rax too... thankyou.... ableton rocks.

  • shit this makes me wanna make tuneezz!!! just gotta get my macbook pro, AWESOME TUTORIAL

  • Comment removed

  • @ohyaimcoolest Operator is a FM synthesizer, so it its not a sampler its a straight up synth.

  • thank you for this, I will use this as a reference. :)

  • man, I've searched how to do it with Operator for 4 years! Thank you!!!

  • have looked for this sound for so long. now that i know it's called dub techno i can find it everywhere :p

  • thanks for continuing to share your skillz and techniques.. your videos are just nice to watch and give me lots of ideas.. :)

  • this is NICE!!!.

  • @jfsandovalm Glad you like it and hope to post more interesting tips.

  • @atabeylive SHIT MAEN YOU'RE AWESOME I LOVE YOUU no homo

  • it sounds amazing....great video mate

  • @MarcS4R your welcome Marc

  • @brtkch thanks glad you like it and for the support for this video.

  • I see, what you mean. Indeed, i often listen Echospace, Deepchord in my MP3 player. That's why i asked you how to make music like this.

Thank so much, Hilato, for your advices. I will tell you how it will be. Thanks again. Seb from France.

  • @sebounetman I will post a video how to start off making dub techno, but more likely its a personal choice how to start Dub techno for me is a very experimental and flexible musical style. I love ableton for the creative process you have and flex ways of creating stuff with live. But the Chords is basic you could apply this technique with almost any synth out there Vanguard, Circle, Operator, etc, just have to be a SAW wave form. What ever wave form but making interesting patter is important.

  • Great tutorial video. Thanks a lot, Atableylive. Finally, is it difficult to make dub techno?

  • @sebounetman not at all you could mix anything with those dub chords, you could be as flexible as you want with the simple ways to make those dub sounds using ableton live instruments and effects.

  • @hilato ok. To be honest, i recently start dub techno with Ableton. I'd like to know too with you begin your track? Because i try to find the debut of a track and i find it's difficult sometimes to find the good instrument and it's the first time i use the software. Thanks to you.

  • @sebounetman I start with basslines, and I usually use operator, also if you look at my videos Atabey live tutorials about how to get those punchy kicks and basslines you would see what I mean, you need to use a lot of EQing and other ways to get those heavy booms bass sounds listen to a lot of DeepChord, Rod Modell he is a great Dub Techno producer.

  • @brtkch Glad this was a great help, but I have to thanks the guy who show me this trick and his info is on the description of this video.

  • Thank you 1000 times!! This helped a lot.

  • @Progressiveme Your welcome no problem, subscribe and rate my video.

  • OOOOOMG IM GONNA APPLY ALL THAT I HAVE LEARNED TO MAKE SOMTHING FRESH

  • Excellent tutorial. I honestly wasn't expecting the end result to sound so good.

  • @adriansmithmusic well you like it man and wish to get some feedback in order to make more tutorials about other technique.

  • Thx man!!! I was wondering what my sound was missing and it was the auto filter trick you did this vid is very helpful.

  • I had looked at the original video before, but I found yours a lot more useful to understand what was going on. Cheers mate!

  • @GerryRampage Glad you like it man hope you enjoy the tutorial.

  • beautful stuff man spot on... thanks

  • @Morylory your welcome glad you like it.

  • @Morylory glad you like it man

  • Thank you!

  • @EnKi485 your welcome Enki485, sub if you want to learn more stuff I will be posting stuff up.

  • LOL? this is perfect ?! shiT, I DONT have ableton , fl studio hmm

  • @DAVIDSOURDJ you could still do it with Fruity loops

  • simple and elegant technique with lots of possibilities.

    nice stuff

  • What delay time are you using for that?

    Sounds luscious.

  • @ddaynyc well in the ping pong delay in Live I used 3 delay hit with a 70 percent feedback, and wet dry about 80 percent, the most important is in the Reverb, the decay I set it up to 3 to 4 seconds. thats the lusicious sounds you get.

  • @atabeylive

    Thanks so much, man!

    keep it up.

  • @ddaynyc your welcome glad you like the video more to come also.

  • these videos are great. you could explain more in words what you are doing, or maybe magnify the mouse movement a bit more to make is easier to follow, if you wanted, but anyway the actual content and tips are very cool.

  • @cameronaudio I am sorry if I don't know how to explain in video. I have no mic to use my external sound card and if I like to talk while I do the parameters I will have to turn off my external sound card and use the internal one on my iMac.

  • nice one - nothing new but good example for starters...

  • @TheDeeperDub yes indeed and when I saw the video of the guy who I gave credit for showing me this dub chord tutorial I had to make one and post it here. But for starters this a good way to learn to make those dub chords that we hear in dub techno.

  • @TheDeeperDub to be honest I am a started nothing compare to that track you have in your youtube channel your tune is really nice.

  • Niiiice, I very much like deep dub vibes...

I also like to use resonators, you can even make a chord with resonators, without even using a single midi note!

  • @AppA how do you do that AppA I would love to know that trick, hey I switch background can you see this one now.

  • @atabeylive

Yeah I can see clearly now, though you could use some gradual zooming here and there or play it in a slightly lower resolution. But that's just aesthetics, it's the sound what matters :p

    also... the reznochord! - watch?v=jDQ_6buVbJU
