(continued from last comment) I suggest that you average out the positions of key points on the body to find the ideal Z forward placement. Such key points would be the ear hole, center of chest, center of hips, and maybe the ankles. Don't use points on the arms and hands.
What is your process for balancing the forward progression in the side view? I would expect to see a very slight acceleration during the cross of legs followed by a slight deceleration with each foot plant, but overall he should stay pretty much centered in the grid. It wouldn't be right to keep his hips in exactly the same Z forward spot on the grid because of the accelerations and decelerations, but it isn't right either to have him float from 6 to 7 to 6 then to 9... (continued...)
Many, Many thanks for the time and effort youve put into making a great reference site on youtube!!! This is just what I've been looking for to improve my CG animations. Once again A MILLION THANKYOUS!

@umar6419 I can't believe the entitled attitude people have. You have no right to the property of others unless he chooses to give it to you. It must have taken a lot of work to get these walk cycles recorded in such a viewer-friendly format.

It's a bit of "trying too hard". He looks like he's very self-conscious about it, which gives it a somewhat unnatural touch.

These movements are too exaggerated, obviously deliberate. No one moves like this naturally.
