I'm suprised yoy skipped the bacon but went for the pasta. Bacon contains fat that's not good for your artery but it won't make you fat. There is a way to make explosive devices out of liquid once they're combine. So two (or more) separate people can take it on the plane and it won't check as a dangerous material, but once they're combine... K-A-B-O-O-M.

When the cabin pressure changes, the bottles can leak. Smaller bottles cause less of a mess and fit into plastic bags to control the damage.

liquids are needed to be in bags because there was an incident that people brought a bomb contained in a bottle of hair gel. so they have made people put all liquids in small containers so they fit in the plastic bags. it does suck they no longer let you bring water bottles you have to buy them... and italy totally rocks!!! and ya its the italian culture to welcome everyone like royalty (: i know i am italian

Water that has not been open?! I was in the airport, they took my NEW unopened water bottle, but they let my mom pass her cig's and Lighter. Surely...can you not light a plane up? I mean THE LOGIC. the bottles came from the tragic event that occured in new york 2001, 9/11
when they hi-jacked 2 airplanes and crashed into the twin towers.
then also later after that incident..... terrorist had explosive liquids in the planes , on U.S soil.. and poof!.....
so now they are really watching everything people bring into the planes for these reasons.

as someone below kind of mentioned, about the bottles of liquid.. there was a terrorist incident where they planned to detonate liquid explosives that they brought onto several planes. the police found out before anything happened, but because of that they dont allow large quantities of liquid on the plane as a security measure.. hope that helps!

not sure if it was a real threat or not but i hear a story about plans on using liquids to make an explosive and what better way to hide the liquids than to put them in normal everyday bottles hope this helps

Liquids go in the bag because the change in pressure in the airplane will push liquids OUT of the bottle and make messes.
