A very fair review Tricklestone, of a story unfairly maligned by many fans in a "group think" response. Dalek stories generally are very boring and predictable to me. Two Dalek stories I DO like are "Death to the Daleks", and "Genesis of the Daleks", as actual Daleks are only a tiny part of the overall story.
Side Note: This is the 1st DW story that I noticed Lis Sladen could be damned sexy, given the chance. Her tight bikini bottoms caught me by surprise! Pleasant surprise it was too!
'Death to the Daleks' was the first 'Pertwee' story I watched, back in 1987 on VHS (I was 10). I think it's a great story and still possibly my favourite of the 'Pertwee' years (although I do also really like 'The Three Doctors'). Episode 1 in particular is very atmospheric and opens the story really well. I also like the puzzles with the Doctor and his Exxilon pal in the later episodes. Plus the Dalek casings look great. 'Death to the Daleks' 10/10 from me. Keep those great reviews coming!

I liked Death to the Daleks, but the one thing I didn't like was the incidental music when the Daleks were first introduced. Something a bit more scary and epic would have been nice instead of the doop-dodoop-doodoop stuff. The model TARDIS target was great. And the ending of the last episode was unusually emotional and Sarah Jane tricking the Daleks into thinking they have the perrinium was fantastic...

The way he got command by ignoring a dying mans orders. Effed up!
wow, great review, urs is the only subscription I care about when i see updates. Cant wait for the Tom Baker era, a very long one, but i will miss the Jon Pertwee era. Still Joint favorites baker and pertwee, sheer brilliance. I have death to the daleks on vhs, the only one i have on video, one of my few remaining videos that work. I know for a near fact that this will be the last dalek story to be released on dvd, as day of the daleks is out next year.
@dutchycooper Unless of course the bbc are amazing and do an invasion style animated reconstruction of the dalek masterplan, power of the daleks and evil of the daleks *cross fingers*

That was funny. I loved the ending and the space marine sound FX. Did the interior of the exxilons city remind you of Rassilons tower from the five doctors with all the killer traps? Same colour scheme too. You should have modified that Sontaran costume to look like an exxilon all you needed was a couple of ping pong balls over the eyes and sorted.

I have to redeem myself for that Sontaran. Maybe I'll go the other way the classic series went. Each time we saw the Sontaran the costume was worse, maybe mine can be better as I go?
@MoonWhoReview Yep, I really like Matt Smith but the Lodger was the lynchpin show for me. That cemented him as the Doctor in my mind. Great episode. I'm getting the two part season ender this week from my buddy at work, can't wait to see this! The season through line has been very intriguing.

Nice review Lopez! It's good 2see u doing these again! I just wish they were "LONGER"!!! At least a Cartoon's length!
If you look carefully, when the Daleks r target Practacing, Their Gun barrel is facing "UP" & not in fact at the Tardis Target!
But It's a quality story hands down. Dark, Violent, Clever & has you gripped from the start. "YOU DO NOT EXSIST"

Death to the Daleks is a neglected gem in Pertwee's last season. Jon is great in this, as is the lovely Lis Sladen.
