I know what you lot mean.We use to go there a fair bit from Croydon. We have relatives there still.I remember the things on the vid.I wish I could go back to those times. They were nicer.
I was born and went to school in Clacton and would have been 7 when this video was made. It does bring back some very fond memories. Anyone remember the Butlins camp which we all used to sneak in to?...lol
This video brings back wonderful memories of Clacton as it was when I first came down here to do a `summer season` ,in May 1969,as solo organist at Valley Farm Camping Ground(as it was called then-owned by local families-Pawsey and Chaston) and the entertainments manager was famous bandleader, Ronnie Mills, with Ron Covell the general manager.
Things were totally different then-Clacton was a resort, buzzing with entertainment.
@wombat1948 My first job was working for C.H. Chaston in Holland-on-Sea as a builders clerk in 1961. Ron Covell was my boss. I worked there for 2 years before returning to Canada in 1963.
Thank you for posting. I have great memories of spending my summers there with my grandparents in late 70's and 80's. I loved it and it will always have a place in my heart.
ahh the town of my birth!... looking back i was so lucky to have been born and raised there,..5 years ago i move inland to nottingham,... and now when i go back,... clacton has changed so much that i dont think i could ever live there again,...its funnyhow time changes things,..:(
Aww this is quite sad to watch. I live in Clacton and it's nice, but full of people who want to ruin everything. Everyone looks so happy in this vid =)

I used to go here as a kid every year from London. I love the place. Haven't been back in years but would love to go one day.

Golden Days that can never be repeated. Wonderful shot of The Steel Steller. It was always my wish to ride it. Now it's just a memory long gone.

Just thinking that I might have been somewhere in this video. Used to go there on holiday as a child. Loved seeing the Punch and Judy.
