After the crapness of '08 and the abomination that was '09, i wont be getting this. '07 was about the best version they managed to do. SI actually gave a fuck at one time, not anymore. They are one step removed from EA now in terms of fan relationship. Fuck them.

i think it looks good considering football managing games are more about strategy and stats rather than graphics, its definetely more watchable although the problem is it looks like it could seem a bit repetitive after a while, i think creating an atmosphere on matchdays is more important though, maybe crowd chants/songs, tannoys and other matchday sounds would help. Also the crowd doesnt always seem to react to the game enough for me.

Game looks amazing but i won't to improve the public assepct of the game i wanna be more involved in the out of game experiences. maybe for 2011 you can think of putting players that can dribbble. Im happy though the match play looks so fluid.

CM is bad because it have no soul, they had the original code that SI worked its butt hard on making, and they just went to absolute nowhere from that point, whilst AI had to click the restart button and work their way through to glory - yet again.

CM is awful, the gameplay is rubbish, the engine incredibly slow and the realism no longer there.

Ive bought every FM there ever has been and my CM collection goes back to CM 3, although I think I have an earlier one somewhere round here. I stopped buying CM in 2007 and will never go back, really looking forward to FM10

Even if CM does visually look better than FM it doesn't matter, because previous FM games have been better than all CM games, FACT. Check any game review site if you want to exactly know why. I doubt the new CM's engine is going to be revamped so much in such a short space of time that'll it be superior than the new FM which will use it's tried and tested database with minor tweaks.

True, CM has been miles off FM's engine, but they have been improving the game for the last 19months (i think) they didnt even bother bringing out CM09.

CM have certainly caught up, and in areas have made some nice improvements.

You maybe correct, FM may still be ahead when it comes the workings behind the matchday.

But i think its atleast worth a try on the demo.

If CM are still lagging behind its not by much anymore.

Ok fair enough, I guess it isn't a fact. What I meant was the majority of people prefer FM to CM and it has been ahead in terms of reviews, sales, and general popularity over the last 5 years or so. CM could improve as Fifa did to compete with the Pro Evo series, but I think it's unlikely. Only the die hard, loyal, deluded CM fan boys still prefer CM to FM, and maybe a few football n00b's too who don't care too much for tactics and realism.

My computer can handle the gameplay fine acutally, but the game graphics are crap. Look at the games out there atm, Fifa to name one.

Now I know fifa is specifically about the grapics, and I aint bothered about them on FM, but come on. If they want to parade them around this much they have to be a hell of a lot better.

Tbh, ive been surprised with the detail they've developed over the last 2 years, and comparing the two, theres obviously very similar in all areas, but there is no disputing Champ man has made massive strides forward compared to FM, who in my opinion have been resting on there laurels, and for that reason they wont be getting my pennies.

You heard correctly, i never really understand that tbh, ok more people are likely to have your product but surely its not financially viable as your not going to get many people paying the full amount, especially during a recession.

I was just checking to see if there was a FM 2010 demo kicking around, havent found one though, ill certainly give it a go and compare the two, but i havent heard of many updates for FM. The 1 aspect to CM i like is the monthly updates the game will receive.

There will be an FM demo, but closer to the release date. As for the CM "pay what you want" deal (minimum price of £2.51) (which, for the record, is only available as a preorder deal), I imagine it's PR-related.

You can almost guarantee they'll sell loads of copies this way, so even if they end up with low review scores they will still end up top of the week's PC sales chart (or thereabouts), and obviously being top of a chart guarantees good shelf placement, plus press release fodder e.t.c.

yeah the demo isn't out until "a few weeks before the release" (according to Miles Jacobson) But it might be worth a download.

CM sounds better and better, the only problem I have is that it is not Mac compatible (without fussing with bootcamp) so it looks like I will have to try it on my old PC (which ran FM 09 ok) If you do play FM let me know what you think.

Hint: One has realistic off ball movement, realistic, build up, and realistic passing, while the other has none of the above with the addition of players falling over themselves at every kick.
