Thanks for showing the poor quality of the 7D. I was about to buy it and searched the web for videos made with it. After seeing a couple and last but not least this piece of CRAP, I decided the 7D shoots crap and decided to go for the new panasonic.

The 7D is a prof cam! You need a prof lens and know somthing about color correction to get good results. Its the same for your panasonic. good ex. for 7D: /watch?v=Kb6UKVdDg9c

Nice effort. Filmlook has as much to do with film LIGHTING as with your gear. The concept portion of your video was shot in film lighting and looks GOOD. The rapping was not and looks like VIDEO.

Hi, was just wondering what compression you used for the upload of this video. I use compressor and and having trouble achieving the same quality. Another problem I'm getting with footage from this camera uploaded to youtube is a slight jitteryness and horizontal flickering lines occasionally.

My 7D is on its way this week, I own an Panasonic HS9 camcorder and it proved to shoot in 1080p 24fps but AVCHD seem to be slow but normal/fast speed when shooting in 1080i. However 7D could handle 1080p 24fps properly.  I was about to buy me an Canon Rebel T2i/550D which is half price of 7D. But it is very hard to make a choice, I ended up ordered 7D.. NICE Video!! I shown many people your video. Its very watchable, people will come back to see it more.

what are the differences between the 7d and 5dm2 for video capture? and are they significant differences?

The only thing different that the 7D does is that it captures video in 24fps (which is the frame rate for film). But the 5Dm2 should be getting an update that will allow that feature (if they haven't done it already). Just make sure you go to the Canon website and make sure you have latest firmware update. Also, the 5Dm2 is a FULL FRAME camera, meaning you get a bigger frame aspect ratio. Hope this helps!

Not necessarily. It only means the the 5Dm2 will be able to shoot in 24p. The 7D is still (in my opinion a more versatile camera), but the 5Dm2 takes the advantage with full frame capabilities.

It depends on what CF card you get. I have two 4gb cards that can record up to 11min per card. I just offload it to my computer after a scene is finished. I think the highest right now is a 32GB card. I'm not sure if you can do a live capture va HDMI output. I assume you can because I use that output to connect to a monitor. And I'm not sure about the 32bit HDR video. I'm going to say no on that, so you might want to do more research if you want a solid answer. Hope this helps!

Absolutely! You can plug it into the 7D's mic input, but I normally record sound separately on the Tascam DR-100, then sync sound in post. Hope this helps!

Interesting? Is this all Canon 7d? What is the data bit rate? Only issue I have is the hand held shots get that jello vision effect but the stable shots look great. Little loss of detail in flesh tones pumped to high in saturation.
