  • For those who doubt he's completely blind, he had his eyeballs completely removed as a baby. Can't post link in comments but google "The Blind Man Who Taught Himself To See"

  • @ArranRWilliamson He had his eyes completely removed as a baby. No corneas, no retinas, no visual input at all.

  • Amazing good for blind people

  • this isn't batman it's daredevil all batman does is use sonar for detective mode but daredevil uses it all the time

  • My teacher was talking about this today :D

  • 1:04 it's what we all want

  • how does the guy know what using a flash light would be like if he was blind from being a baby? just curious haha still cool tho!

  • @renarde You don't have to experience something to know its effects. For example, I've never been shot, but I know I don't want to be shot (that would be bad).

  • They used the word Batman because bats use echolocation .

  • this is rubbish, he's using 'blind sight'! look it up. it depends on the type of damage. if its in the visual cortex at the back of the brain then the visual information still reaches the neocortex allowing him to solve problems, such as making his way through a maze full of obstacles or to ride a bike.

i.e. as he reaches the obstacle on his bike, he cant 'see' it (make up a picture by processing things from his visual field) but the information still reaches the front part of the cortex. hoax

  • you are not scientist!. You cannot say hoax. You just talk without research and evidence. Daniel totally blind and scientist already research him with FMRI. You can read publication of peer-reviewed science at PLOSONE.ORG plosone.org and search for term of "human echolocation". This is not hoax because scientist has prove it.

I think james randi should pay $1 millon dollar to daniel kish. lol.

  • @johngeekable actually that that's exactly what i am, The research in this department, is hardly convincing and just so you know, you can never 'prove' anything only disprove. dont just take these things as fact

  • They used the word Batman to get more views...

  • 1:03-1:13 i was dying laughing hahahaha

  • Guys what if he meant wait for it a guy wait that wait for it did echolocation like a bat yet he was a MAN LIKE A BAT-HUMAN OR A BATMAN WOAH
  • It's more like Dare Devil not Batman.

  • Their visual representation of the way he sees is really weird and off. It wouldn't be a bunch of shadows that light up in a certain spot when he clicks. It'd be total darkness, where every click is a 'flash' that shows the exact shape of what's in front of him. Sort of like the 'Echo Visor' from Metroid Prime 2.

  • Dare devil

  • There was a kid here in Sacramento who did this. He died a couple of years ago from a disease.

  • @hkdharmon His name was Ben Underwood.

  • they mean a bat man, not the batman

  • no guys, he is a real life batman. Their not talking about the comic book character, they're referring to bats and the way they use sound to see and hear. so he is a bat man

  • we all get it the dare devil is the worst superhero ever

  • If I say he's not Batman and instead Daredevil can I get 104 thumbs up too?

  • MAS PARECE DAREDEVIL ¬¬

  • i would say he's more like the real life dardevil

  • DAREDEVILLLL

  • @ The top comments: They call him batman because bats are blind. It has nothing to do with super heroes.

  • I saw another video with a kid who did the same thing. He died though :(

But this guy helped out! The kid didn't want to use a cane.

  • And here I thought I would come across another person like Phoenix Jones... just being Batman. Interesting none the less.

  • this is awesome

  • Well Batman wear a cape, this guy wear slacks and a polo shirt.

  • lol they use batman not to say he's the comic batman.

  • Is it possible for you to stfu for 10 seconds

  • Why are the top comments...the same?

  • "am I hot?" :)))

  • "am i hot??"... hmmm dunno, a bit yeah...

  • Notice how he does not wear a blindfold.

Not all blind people are completely blind.

  • @Dubtacht His eyes are glass eyes, you fuckin' idiot.

  • Lol, this is such fucking bullshit. I do not care what you say. This is just not fucking possible.

  • @14omega28ok Look him up.

  • hes a man like like a bat but they should of called him daredevil

  • what they probably mean is a bat----man

  • DAREDEVIL!

  • It's nice and all, but what does batman have to do with this?

  • Wow that is fucking epic!!!

    I have a question....

How do you develop this skill??

  • Btw, they are calling him Batman not because of Batman, from the comics, but because he can use Echolocation like Bats,so stop being retarded.

  • @ptpetrov i know that's what they mean. I'm not retarded I'm a comic fan with a sense of humor.

  • If anything this is Dare Devil if we're talking comic books. But I see where you're coming from with the title of course. Way cool!

  • Daredevil dumb ass!

  • thats the fukin anouncer from mythbustsers

  • @TheBubbypower ikr dude !!!

  • It's not batman, it's Daredevil dumbass. FAIL video name!

  • amazing!!! What do batmen eat?

  • he's the freaking daredevil

  • he's not batman he's Daredevil

  • @geekgirlrocker66 bat-man get it sonar?

  • @geekgirlrocker66 it means the animal bat not the hero

  • @geekgirlrocker66 Bats use echolocation themselves, that's why he is often referred to as "the bat man"

  • @geekgirlrocker66 He dosen't mean Batman as in the Batman we all know. He means he is a man who can see using sound like bats do so like a man with bat powers so like a Bat-Man

  • @DarknessMaster55 I KNOW!!!!!!!! it's also used by dolphins and whales. I saw the video. take a joke.

  • @geekgirlrocker66 I 2ND THAT COMMENT....GET YA HERO'S RIGHT LOL

  • what do u expect ,a guy on a black rubber suit hanging upside down from a ceiling, NOOO

    that would be silly

  • try daredevil

  • That. Is. AWESOME

  • It saddens me that the only reason most people know about Daredevil is from that rubbish movie. It's actually one of the better superhero comics

  • @OriginalFroggyStyle

They were close...he's like a superhero but not Batman. He's the REAL Daredevil. None of those guys ever heard about him? Ben Afleck starred in the film a few years ago.

  • more like daredevil but whatever

  • @lucashale9765 more like blind man but whatever

  • Rip ben :C

  • I actually met this guy in real life, he walked right up to me and shook my hand before I even said hello. He bought a cabin from my family and he supposedly ended up burning it down accidentally though thankfully he was unharmed.

    True story.

  • @Bouchon211 thats not even a good attempt at a story

  • @spazzwazzle Well you're an idiot cause its 100% true, why would I make some shit like that up?

  • @Bouchon211 so Im supposed to believe it because you called me an idiot... interesting

  • @spazzwazzle Fine don't believe it then, but i'll always know you're an idiot because I know i'm right. And this guy came to mind and so I dug up this video again, not the other way around.

  • thumbs up if you made the clicky noise at objects after watching this

  • its better to say daredevil, ugh, people dont know anyhting about superheroes

  • I'm a seeing person trying to explore the ability of echolocation. I've been documenting my progress on my blog. Help me out or contribute your own insight. Thanks!

  • "Dolphinman" and "(Beluga) Whaleman" just wouldn't have sounded as cool as "Batman".

  • @GWDeathscythe18 Search Overgrowth Rap... Whaleman is a beast

  • I need the URL of this videooo?? Where???

  • @MundoAcceso Try the address bar

  • @MundoAcceso

    click n share

  • U mean daredevil,the superhero right?

  • now only if he knew martial arts....talk about beast...

watching this makes me want to be blind...strange isnt it?

  • FUCK i clicked on this video hoping for a rich guy with sweet gadgets

  • Who else tried to see if they could do this? Haha

  • Everyone a blind kid did that without a cane and he that guy is talking ALL the credits.

  • @AZNxC the kid you're talking about is Ben Underwood, and he taught himself echolocation but i think this guy (Daniel Kish) did it first and Ben actually learnt from Dan Kish Ben can't look after himself when he is in a new area and Ben's mum thinks that he should use a cane because there are somethings that echolocation cant detect E.G a deep hole in the ground but the cane will help to detect it

  • @AZNxC but i think he got the clicking with mouth from Ben Underwood

  • how do u make the click noise

  • NO HE IS NOT BATMAN OR DAREDEVIL. HE'S HUMAN TORCH...

  • @musicmakespeace Dude, he's obviously Spider-Man.

  • @desu38 You must be as blind as the guy in the vid, he's clearly Wolverine

  • @BestClone Are you fucking crazy? It's more like Iceman.

  • batman didn't have super powers

  • The title is a refernce to a bat..man...not the superhero, but a BAT man, because bats are blind and use sound to see... so hes a BATman

  • waw..an amazing man..bravo.

  • i want to learn how to do this even though i can see. this would seriously be one of the coolest skills i could ever obtain 8D

  • @ishouldplayzelda They have much-much sharper ears, so I think it would be impossible for you, unless you loose your eyesight (that doesn't worth is, does it?).

  • @Norbancs well i'm wondering if i could hone my hearing. i know it's possible, probably just really difficult

  • amazing!

  • yeah but i dont want people going round clicking all day. this isnt west side story.

  • Thats awsome.

  • Wow, that is absolutely epic

  • Ben Underwood invented this technique. I rated DOWN this video, sorry. But Ben deserves the credit.

  • @michel6

You stupid idiot, human echolocation has been studied since the 1950s, Ben didn't invent it.

  • @Iksbrown You retarded virgin imbecile, Ben invented the tongue click intuitively while five years old, I am not talking about echolocation in general, did I mention echolocation in my previous post? There are many cases in XVIII century about people using canes, footsteps, etc... but in the BBC documentary is very clear that Daniel Kish is LEARNING from Ben, just watch the videos related in the right section instead parroting Wikipedia data.

  • @michel6

Wow you're really a moron. Ben invented tongue clicking? LOL, I suppose I invented breathing then.

Who cares where he learned it from? He doesn't have to mention it to everyone.

  • @michel6 retard

  • bullshit

  • The FIRST person who start using this method was Ben Underwood (R.I.P). He taugh this man how to do it, and in this video they didn't even mention him! /watch?v=qLziFMF4DHA , and in the 4th part of this documentary, you can see how they met. This is really unfair, this guy is taking all the credit! Shame of you!

  • i think they actually mean a "bat" man since bats use ecolocation

  • Batman? Bah!

    Daredevil? Meh!

More like...Aquaman! Bet he can summon legions of dolphins when he goes swimming!!

    Seriously, awesome awesome ability.

  • @dum277 they mean it with the animal way

  • can i learn it?

    (i can see)

  • @andrew1haddad Undoubtedly you can. However, it may be to a limited degree for two reasons: 1) you would learn it slowly as most of the time you'd still be walking around sighted 2) it may be that only a portion of people actually have the brain wired for this (google it for the most recent study).

  • What about in a noisy environment though... say a train station?

  • @jdallen75

it would work if you tune your brain to listen for your frequency...but that would take a lot more training...

I wouldn't mind picking this up as a secondary skill in case I can't see one day...or if its really dark ;)

  • @dum277 they are not talking about the superhero they are refering to the abilities of bats

  • thats toooo epic i tried it but i dun here an echo...

  • instead of clicking with mouth why not just use a clicker that's used for dog training? Clicking your mouth must get tiring.

  • @ThePantyDroper

his mouth does look a little worn out n awkward but a clicker would not be the same bcuz if you made the sound, the body knows to listen for the exact same sound...kind of like how bats navigate between each other with all their echolocations going back and forth without it disturbing what they're looking for.

  • @xtragel Reason I said that is because I did see a kid on tv who used a clicker in his hands for the same thing. It worked very well for him. I'm sure the video is on youtube

  • i can see why they call him Batman. its not off the comic hero Batman, but off a bat-man (a man using bat techniques). i dont know why anyone would call him Batman (comic). hes not jumping off buildings saving the day lol.

anyways that ball trick really blew my mind. and the lady really made me laugh lol.

  • Very inspiring! Wow~!

  • is this the voice over for mythbusters?

  • Vancouver!

  • I sort of did it once. I stopped short in the pitch dark on the way to the bathroom and I had no idea why. But there was a wall was a few inches in front of me - I forgot that the hallway angled at the end instead of going straight. Must have heard my footsteps.

  • batman can be true its all in my head if u want to comment please do so so u can ask questions

  • Has he got a Batmobil?

  • thats what blind people fukin do, no shit

  • @dmoneyxd Most blind people do not have this ability and need to be taught.

  • I hope I'm not the only one who thought they meant a flying man. . .

  • That is Matt Murdock ;)

  • am i hot?

  • FUCKING RETARDS< he is BEN AFFLECT , we all saw him in the movie Daredevil

  • I must learn this new skill. Very helpful in the dark.

  • When they say Batman, I don't think they are referring to the superhero. I think they are referring to actual bats. Echo-location=Bats. Batman. :)

  • Daredevil would be more suiting yes, but he uses the same technique as a bat, therefore you could call him batman aswell

  • Thats shits pretty funny when he is clicking and rotating in front of that green screen

  • Fucking Awesome !!! Props To That Guy

  • Batman because he uses a "sonar", like a bat, and he's a man...

  • where can I learn the teknik

  • @linthu96 I have no idea how you would learn a teknik, a technique on the other hand may be possible.

  • HE'S DOLPHIN MAN!!

  • 1:03 fucking classic

  • he's a genius

  • /watch?v=G1QaCeosUmw&feature=player_embedded

  • Daniel Kish learned this by this boy ben....

  • daredevil*

  • I should do that to if I got lost in the Dark :D

  • This is fucking awesome, anyone who thinks other wise is wrong, that simple.

  • What the fuck did this have to do with Batman???

  • @MrMatthewUnger Bats use echolocation to get around. They mean Batman very loosely, based on actual bats than the superhero.

  • what if you're deaf and blind?

  • The title is highly misleading.

  • @xcoibyx Youre telling me. lol

  • yea daredevil would be the correct hero wtf does batman have to do with blindness ahah

  • Don't they mean Daredevil?

  • @zoebiflap they mean BAT -man he is a bat

  • @zoebiflap they are not talking about the superhero they are refering to the abilities of bats

  • @zoebiflap i was supposed to comment like this when i saw this in yahoo.. haha i think il just give this a thumbs up lol

  • @zoebiflap A mix of both I guess!

  • @zoebiflap he's a bat man, not batman

  • @zoebiflap They mean BATman becasue bats use echolocation... Not Batman as in the comic book character...

  • @TheMetalHead102 EXACTLY!!!!

  • @zoebiflap as in a real bat, not the fictional character.

  • @dum277 @zoebiflap as in a real bat, not the fictional character.
