For anyone confused at the last part. The conversation takes place while Snake is still Pliskin. Vamp has never met Snake but he recognized his smell, since Snake and Solidus are the same on the genetic level, Snake thinks that Vamp is with Liquid, since he doesnt know Solidus yet and has a hunch that Liquid is still alive since their DNA is the same and Vamp recognized it. But obviously retracted it since he knows Liquid is dead. But now its Solidus.
