I got to be a doorgunner on a UH-60 for a year, and that was a blast! As for the guy who commented on changing out barrels after firing a full belt.....guess what? There's this cool thing called rotor wash, plus the speed of the helicopter keeps the barrel cool. We never burnt off a belt all in one rip. We were trained to conserve ammo, just bursts.

dear lustg0g, please don't confuse holliwierd for real combat. DoorGunners don't have long ammo belts, and they only fire when fired at or a real threat presents itself. @ 130 knots the enemy is gone too fast to burn up a barrel

Not cool man...in time of war I say kill any soldier in any way you want...fucking annihilate them but it's not cool to kill civilian women & children. I know some terrorists strap bombs onto women & children in the Middle East then tell them to run toward American soldiers then detonate the bomb...in those rare cases I say protect American soldiers & shoot 'em if they don't stop but in any other case it just sounds brutal...this is the best country in the world and we're better than that.
