they made it with adobe after effects buddy, although if your new to the program its extremely hard to make something that ends up as good as they did it, its very hard work to coordinate all the moves with the CG graphics and then also dub in audio

There was only one shot that used 'add' as the transfer mode, and that was the first shot of me igniting my (blue) lightsaber. All of the other shots were composited using 'screen'.

Yes, but that film has a lot of dark backgrounds, which makes 'add' a nicer transfer mode. In this film, 'add' seemed to over-expose the lightsaber glows on the lighter backgrounds, especially the green grass and trees.

actually, it was pretty aggressive, speaking that the sticks we used were thick wood that was really heavy, and hard to maneuver. We have since learned, not to use wooden shafts...

yeah really they should have a warning label branded into wood: DO NOT USE FOR SWORD FIGHTING SEQUENCES. I use and actual metal handle with a fiberglass poll in it. The fiberglass poll is removable so that you can have just the handle. But otherwise I still liked this video.
