The 3'rd and 4'th films were NOTHING compared to the first two, and I'll always have a little sniff in my nose when I think on all the memories I had the first time I saw Terminator 1 when I was about seven or eight...then I was afraid my toaster was going to come alive...

after T2 cyberdyne is no longer ends up selling skynet to the airforce and the airforces development of the same technology goes unhindered like in the original time.

In T3 skynet has given up going after john conner. He's off the grind and probably impossible to find. They instead go after his LTs hoping that it might change the balance of power in the future. The TX wasn't sent back to get John.. but running into him was sort of a lucky coincidence.

it's really easy to see how a this movie makes sense. i might have to do this in a couple posts.

The time line originally(without timetravel) is that the Airforce develops skynet and judgement day happens and a person named john conner sends kyle reese into the past to protect himself

the events of T1 happen and a small company company gets their hands on the terminators chip and get a 10 year run on the Airforce and thus judgement day happens ten years earlier.

Why do people always forget that in T2 they never destoryed all traces of the Terminators.

Arnies arm was trapped in a cog in the fight in T2 and they never threw that in the steel like the other arm. Such an easy and obvious way to set up another film and everybody missed it and just gave a bullshit "you cant stop it from happening" answer.

id love to see T5, Arnold vs a new terrifying Terminater itself would be a sold movie ticket for me. maybe Vin Diesel? he seems a good candidate with his voice and overall movie performance. But i would love to see them in the future possibly..maybe John having kids and setting up for a new T movie.. hell he could create the world his mother always wanted and to me that would truly be going out with raw feeling and emotion that would bring a tear to a Terminator fans heart.

T5 has no set story but it is in the future and Arnold is Signed to make a return as a full time actor in it. I have no idea what they are planning but maybe Arnold won't be a terminator. Here's a cool look at it, what if Arnold was a human who is captured by cyberdine systems to make terminators to send to the past, then future connor breaks him outonly to find out that Arnold has some how altered his body to be like a terminator and runs on power cells like terminators. That would be cool.

T1: a good movie with an original idea - 8

T2: a great action and plot movie and James Cameron's best movie - 10

T3: a good action movie, but a little weak on the plot, but a good ending - 7

T4: the 2nd best T movie, and with a good JC and SFX, and leads into T5 - 9.5

ok, for the mystery of T5, it's official that T5 will come out in 2014 and might have Vin Diesel as the Terminator. hopefully this will end the series and destroy cyberdine finally.

The Terminator, Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 are all based in the present (except for quick scenes of the future, Sarah Connor's dream about dogs getting killed by a terminator, another dream Sarah has about Judgement Day and John Conner's dream about the future). Terminator Salvation is based in the future.

I was hoping there would be a Terminator 3 when I was young but after the long wait and watching it I've got to say I had my problems with it and then there was good qualities. What I didn't like about it was Claire Danes' character was unnecessary she was no Sarah Connor and the TX was nothing new in terms of threat compared to the T1000. What I did like about it was the action was great, it was comical and the ending was so perfect I was gutted to hear they were making a fourth film.

I don't see why people say T3 is a bad film, it seriously isn't. People have a habit of comparing the films instead of doing it on their own merits. T3 is an entertaining film and so is Salvation, but lets be honest here..without Arnold, I don't know if any future Terminator film will be as good as the first two. His acting as the Terminator is spot on.

salvation was garbage, it doesnt feel like any of the flash-forwards in the first movie were taken into consideration when making the movie. The first film showed the machine wars as a gigantic junkyard with dead terminators everywhere, it was very dark and gritty and set a perfect environment for the story. In salvation, the atmosphere was done completely wrong.

John Connor somehow got stupid ("What do you guys come off an assembly line or something?")

Arnold's line: "Judgement Day is inevitable". Totally destroys one of the key themes of the films.
