Shalit was not kidnapped. Civilians are kidnapped. Shalit is a soldier, not a civilian. He was an armed soldier who was captured in a battle. Unarmed aid workers or tourists are kidnapped. The radical Islamist Hamas is losing support from the Palestinians.
A poll done by the Palestinian institure JMCC shows, that only 18.8 % of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank support Hamas..
The same poll in January 2009 showed that 27.7 % of the Palestinians were behind Hamas..
The more moderate fatah gets more support.. I the January-poll Fatah was supported by 26 %, today Fatah is supported by 34.9 %
It looks as if the Palestinians have realized what Hamas is really all about

hezzbollah got the majority of votes in th election but in lebanon it is not one vote one person, out of 1 400 000 votes 850 000 voted for hezzbollah coalition and all the 11 contended for paliament got a seat, hezzbollah did not really care about the election all they care about is the destruction of israel and that will happen, they will make u flee like sheeps again to eastern europe were u r originally from

ok u dont understand that they did not get defeated, they had before the election 57 seats now they have 57 seats they lost nothing and got nothing new back, in south lebanon were u were huniliated they got 95% of the votes, and they dont care about parliament they care about fighting ur ugly people that is their main mission and tehy will fight u until the end of time, we will never leave u alone and one day u will get kicked out of the whole of palestine

Wouldn't you agree that capture of a soldier of an attacking army is far less of a crime than kidnapping of civilians, exactly what Israeli forces did the day before the capture of Shalit, invading Gaza city and kidnapping two brothers, then spiriting them across the border where they disappeared into Israels prison complex?

Mr. Shalit was no kid. He was a soldier serving an illegal occupation of foreign land by an army that willfully targets defenseless people, including very young children!
As for the (political) prisoners Israel holds in it's dungeons, you have probably never heard of Facility 1391. Don't assume the Red Cross, Amnesty, B'tselem or any other independent organization being granted access there.

Israel released hundreds of Palestinians.......it didn't get Shalit back home..
Where as Israel lets the families of it's prisoners have visits from their families, no one is permitted to visit Shalit.. Red Cross have asked Hamas to see Shalit many many times, Hamas won't let Red Cross see him..
