  • GREAT SONG! <3

  • Truly beautiful.... I had forgotten how wonderful Stevie and Kenny were. How could I??

  • I like the song, but I LOVE 0:00-0:56. Style-wise there's kind of a sharp change after that.

  • I'm 17 and I remember this song waaay back then when I was in the booster seat at the age 2

  • You keep Lady Gaga and let me keep THIS!

    Kenny For Life!

  • @Stressed2Capacity ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Without question one of the greatest intros ever.

  • @32a34a I agree! What a classic! A Fan 4 Life From East St. Louis!!!!!:)

  • I just remember hearing that back in 1978, suddenly sitting up and yelling, "Hey, that's my Stevie singing in there!!!" LOL. Very pretty song, timeless.

  • I can remember slow dancing with my girlfriend in 1978 at the roller skating rink:}Yeah thanks for posting:}

  • im only 14 but i was raised on this music and love it :)

  • Akir one :)

  • I remember waking up to this song when I was a kid in elementary school. Great song.

  • omg this was like my fave song when i was two

  • ive loved this so when i was little.

  • "I always want to call you ...friend!" Awesome song!

  • stevie and kenny never failed in their lives.

  • Stevie was younger and so was her voice....great match for Kenny. But she did claim that he was the most difficult guy to work with.

  • @chargalant That's interesting, never knew that before. Searched and found an article about her talking about him and the song. She nicknamed him "Slave-driver Loggins" but said he was a good producer.

  • Loved this song but wish someone else sung with him. Stevie isn't cutting it for me, but at least she doesn't sound nasally.

  • CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THE FIRST PARTS OF THIS SONG FROM 0:00 UNTIL IT GETS TO 1;00 MINUTES. PLEASE

  • way to go , such an awesome song . you never tired of stevie's vibrato

  • way to go , such an awesome song

  • What a bright song!! Whenever depressed this turns a light inside me.

  • this duet between Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks sounds pretty good, but I think Stevie sounds better when she's done vocal harmonies with Lindsey Buckingham; I don't understand why, they both have about the same vocal style, maybe Lindsey has some musical magic over Stevie.

  • yes Mr.Loggins just got done playin right here in ashland,KY!!! like an hour ago..though I was working I came home and heard the tailend of I'm Alright!!COOL!! great song thanx for posting!

  • 1979?

  • @AdobeGillis ... It was 1978

  • @northstar68 Thanks.

  • @northstar68 was it really that long, ahhh i remember the days when i wasn't even a wink in my mother uterus ;P

  • @AdobeGillis yes

  • @AdobeGillis I never really "listened" to the song before. Thanks for puting it together with the lyrics. The song has a way more special place in my heart. Thanks.

  • I love this song, the 70s was a great decade for music.

  • Very Nice!

  • I didn't know Stevie Nicks was the singer!? Damn it! That's why it's so awesome! They're both Very very very good!

  • Kenny and Stevie hit #5 in Billboard, 10-28-78. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • listen, like, add to playlist, then listen again

  • I have to agree that there are elements of this song that just don't seem to fit. I'm not a fan of the fake choir sound at the beginning. As the song progresses I think it gets better and seems to be more consistent. I also agree the key change is awkward, but I've never been a fan of sudden key changes like that. However, the lyrics, even if they are sappy, are still a step above the millions of songs w/ lyrics that are just plain bad. Check out the Allison Krauss/Michael Johnson version.

  • Great tune that reminds me of the late '70's.....

  • One of the most poignant songs of it's time. Stevie's new album is the bomb!

  • Fall 1978 - I was 13, kissed my first boyfriend...great memories. Only problem was...I had a hell of a time understanding 3/4 of the lyrics, especially Stevie Nicks!! To this day, when I sing this song I have to glaze/murmur over certain words that I can't get!!! LOL!!! Great memories!

  • I forgot Stevie Nicks is a girl,I was expecting to hear a guy:p

  • Whatever! Some negative comments here are disgusting hehe. Kenny is great and lovable!

  • @bayubs ~ I agree :)

  • Truly one of the most awful AM radio hits ever. It's starts out as a standard pseudo-ballad, creeps up through an awkward key change and morphs into a lame disco number with lyrics dripping with so much syrup that even listening to this song could turn one into a diabetic. What were Loggins and Nicks thinking when they recorded this? The agents had to be waving wads of bills around to keep them excited.

  • @stoogemaniac ...I wouldn't go that far and there is nothing disco about the song whatsoever-no searing orchestration, thudding, thumping bass line or anything. It was released in 1978, that's about all it has in common with disco.

It's kind of a bad song I agree but there is much, much worse. When I think sappy I think The Carpenters or "I've Never Been to Me"...shit like that. Indeed there is a lot worse.

  • @stoogemaniac ...and how could I forget Loggins' own artistically wretched career mid 80s especially those terrible soundtrack songs. Although they were most uptempo they were so horrid it makes this sound brilliant.

I think he got worse with age. Maybe this was the beginning of the decline. Not that there was too much genuine glory in his career to begin with (although he did have a hand in writing "What a Fool Believes").

  • 0:56 that's gotta be Michael McDonald doing back up, he was on 50% of every song made in the late 70s, early 90s

  • A nice song for friends. Especially married folks.

  • This is what is missing from today's music -- brilliant harmonies, memorable bridges, and professional muscianship. Somewhere along the line the music stopped being interesting. And no, it ain't justin beiber's fault.

  • stevie sounds so young here.

  • i love this song so much

  • I can't believe the way Kenny gets up there to hit those high notes. You would think the woman would do it. Lol. Nope. That's Ken.
