Actually, the Nexus One can absolutely go into landscape mode on the homescreen, but they specifically disable it, to make it more "iPhone" like, it was a marketing decision.
Earlier ROMS do go completely landscape, and it was great.
And it was infuriating when I did an over the air update and it killed that.
hey amigo azsingersigner!!!!!!!! i know how u want to use da gps cuaze i have g1 phone t-moble so is the same android u have this what u do first go to [settings] n u goin 2 look for [security &location] press that .. u going to click [gps satellites] turn on or enable n then go navigation search tha city or street u want and automatic is going to b ready to drive what u go ok i hope u enjoy what i just wrote 2 u bye !!!
@Velasquez459 Thanks. Actually, I know that, but I wish the software developers would make it easier to figure out. When a software tells you that you have to change your system settings in order to use a feature of the software, then the software should bring you back to itself after you've changed your systems settings.
@crappdude Sorry about that. I know it's a pretty crappy resolution too. It was taken with a Canon SD790 IS, and it gets even worse when you zoom in. We'll have to get a Flip HD or something better.

If you root your Nexus and install a custom rom like Cyanogen or Modacos you can display the contact screen and others in landscape mode.

pretty cool, the lack of landscape is kinda annoying though, otherwise it would be perfect
