Taranis1982 "The Bears should be left alone in the wild", humans have been destroying their habitat for years and years to come. Plus, he's up in alaska, i wasn't aware that there was such a vast population of people who would be affected. If you learn to live and understand these creatures, both you and them will benefit.

I saw this documentary on TV and this man is a very stupid person,not to mention selfish, the police have asked him to stop interacting with the bears but he continues to defy the law,why is it bad you ask, WELL ill tell you,he his taking away the natural fear that the bears have for man,when that fear is gone bear attacks increase,and bears get shot because of it also its dangerous for all humans in that forest because of this ridiculous little man .

@adlerbr12 bears do not have a natural fear of man, they only learn to fear man through interaction. bear attacks only increase when stupid people encrouch on there territory. if you respect the bears, the bears will respect you.

@leslucas Hes actually 100% right. Some states shoot bears that have been fed or gotten into the garbage for the exact reason he said. If people become food sources for bears, human bear interaction will obviously increase. And if interaction increases attacks will inevitably increase.

@leslucas There are a lot of other people besides this man who live, hunt, hike, camp, and fish among other things in alaska. He's not is some desolate arctic wasteland, he's not very far outside of anchorage. Theres a clip of a hunter walking onto his front lawn during the show, these bears will eventually come across another human. FOR THE BEARS SAKE, they should stop being fed, no offense to this very nice man but I'd rather have bears lives saved than have some old man entertained.

@ToroToker I see where you're coming from and I understand the viewpoint, but I can't bring myself to agree with it. I would just find it too much of a messed up world if it gets to the point where we can't interact with our own wildlife.

I've lived with in the country my whole life, and i've been pretty close to raw nature as a person can get, along with everyone else around my town. Yet we don't have any incident, and haven't in a looong time.

Education to the community is key imo :)

i dont think hes doing wrong just live him alone the bears are wild . they only put their guard down when they are in charlies property . the narator of the show says that even charlie who has been living with them for 20 years is in danger in the woods around his cabin so i think hes not doing any harm the bears come and go as they please he dosent go looking for them .(god bless charlie)
