Great sounding HD-28, I love my HD-28 It's a 1992 mint shape. I use Martin SP Phosphor Bronze Med. Great stings.

What kind of case does this Martin come with? Yours looks aged. How old is it? I want to get one.

When I bought it, it came with the 600-series- molded case. It is a goodquality case but I changed to another one that had more room for accecories. The guitar is from 2006.

Nice big sound - I've owned an Alvarez Yairi Acoustic since the mid 70's. Its a good guitar but it just can't compete with your Martin. If I put a capo up at the 4th fret I'll invariably have to tweak the tuning. Your Martin sounded great with the capo on it.

I'm stuck in quandary...I'm partial to the D-35 in which to buy next. My first martin I have is D-16 GT and I love it. But the HD-28 is great too. What strings do you like? I"m trying different ones, putting Jon Pearse on next, medium guage, although I want to try D'Addario EXP's as well. Heard good things

I use D'Addario EJ17 but John Pearse is also very good. I´ve tried all kinds but I always come back to D'Addario EJ17.

That's definitely a good 'un you got there. I've got an HD-28 too, but yours seems to have a lot of punch, which i really like.

I have got one just like it..bought it way back in 1978..If you really want it to BOOM..put some Martin Marquis Medium gauge on it..Mine sounds like a different guitar with anything other than Martin Marquis on it..

OK. I think that is what I have on right there. Or Martin SP or GHS. I don´t use anything thinner than mediums.

I had the saddle lowered a bit. The action now is fairly low but there is no buzz whatsoever.

Got one for Christmas last year, and now I'm spoiled rotted. Haven't touched any of my other acoustics. Almost killed it by putting D'Addario 80/20s on it. Sounded dead. Put the Martin SP phosphors back on in a hurry.
