What is that thing called that is motorized and goes between the swimmers ankles? I saw it recently and it looks awesome, but can't find it anywhere on here...
is there anywhere u can get them 4 cheeper cuz i a 15 yr old kid but i water babby and love swimming wif dolphins but cant keep up and i dont have tht money just lying round or would it be better to make my own
@diamondnine Go to smithaerospace.us for more info. There are a couple of models available. The models that are like this one are in the $645 to $695 range.
Impressive. Question? With endurance swims, how much toll does it take on the muscles? It's amazing the speed, just wondering the fatigue factor. And how does one go about getting one?
@LanceWinslow5 - I have swum 0.5 miles in 15 min. on 800 psi from a standard 80 tank at about 20 ft. depth using a DOL-Fin Classic monofin. That's an average of 2 mph, which is a quick but very sustainable speed and completely comfortable as well.
@KrBandidas I don't think that one is a lunocet. there is a clip where a guy was sort fo standign on water for a second like a dophin using Lunocet. I wonder if normal Monofin can do that as well
@JoeFloDM8 - It's like a powerful DPV; when you get it going too fast, your regulator may self-purge from the water pressure acting on the second stage. Solutions are: Use a side mount regulator, have the second stage retuned to a higher activation pressure, or just slow down. Normally, you would not swim that fast with SCUBA, but this video demonstrates that you can when you want to.
fantastic too see a scuba diving mono fin, id be interested to see how well it does slow movements, going backwards and turning, any more videos? looks really cool
Thank you for rating my video. I believe the DOL-Fin to be efficient and practical for most applications of recreational diving. Its potential applications are different and more diversified than that of the monofin/hyperfin. So, if you want a hyperfin, that is probably what you should get. However, if you are looking for a versatile efficient mono that can be used on long sea-hikes and/or looking for efficient swimming propulsion for SCUBA and even Deep-Tech diving, this may be for you.

@charlesmadison1986 I think you are referring to Formula 3 Freediving (F3F). If not that, then maybe you saw Jet Boots DPV.

@smithaerospace Formula 3 Freediving is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot! Those Jet Boots are pretty sweet also.

interesting. not sure how efficient it is comparing with traditional monofin. anyway nice to see four competing technologies.
