Love the bike but...FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET RID OF THOSE STOCK PIPES!!..Vance and Hines make good and affordable ones.

Just bought a 1200 custom sportster last week. It is absolutely awesome! I haven't ridden for 25 years so I took a refresher course. My son is a biker, rides one of the Suzuki superbikes, but he said he was really impressed with the Harley,( I let him ride it!) even if it is coming out of the kid's inheritance!

hey has any one got any ideas, im tossing up weather to get a harley or something like a kawasaki or honda, im only 18 at the moment

hey man,Honda or Kawasaki are really good bikes but nothing beat's the feeling you get riding a harley!those jap bikes also have a lot of plastic parts,not pretty on a cruiser!harleys are more expensive but you get a real bike!

hey thanks for that, i've now been mostly looking at classic triumphs and harley's, i rekon theyre much better than japanese/euro crotch rockets. im real interested in harley superglide customs, i think theyre wicked.

i cant decide between this and the xl883. which costs more? which has better preformance?

it's better to buy the 1200,it cost a little more but the performance is alot better!

You also get a lot more chrome on the 1200!

@zachbdude you will want the 1200 upgrade if you get the 883. mine is 1200 with pipes and a tuner. its faster than my 1800vtx already; but im getting a mass air intake and getting her retuned and dynoed. then ill have to bore her out and get real pipes. if its a cost issue try and get a used 1200. you can never have enough power if you need it.

Nice bike, looks just like mine, color and everything except mine is an 06 and I have the hard bags which come quite in handy.

This bike is really nice looking. I am going to get one in the spring. What kind of pipes would make it sound good but not be too loud? Any suggestions. Thanks.

good for you,you won't be sorry!i have put on a stage one kit and vance and hines straightshots slip ons.they are pretty loud,the bikes performance is better also.maybe to loud if you don't like it!i don't know if the screaming eagle pipes are less loud!people are turning theire heads now when i am passing by!

You really need some pipes and a stage 1 kit on it. What is the point in having a Harley if you don't have the Harley sound? Nice bike though. I've got the orange and black one.

that will come in time,first save some money cause it's not cheap overhere in europe!!i really want that harley sound and i am going to customize more,next month i am gonna put on a drag bar!!thanx for the comment!!
