I remember these compilations. They had remixes not found elsewhere. I bought one that had the Dancin' Danny D remix for Loose Ends' "Slow Down". This is the first time hearing this version.

shit i didnt know streetsounds were still going in 1986 - i stopped buying them about 84 volumes 1-4 or 5 were essential for every one who went clubbin around 82-83 - people now don't realise it but in the early -mid 80s as many people in London and south-east were on the underground soul/jazz/funk scene as are on the house scene since 1988. being an almost totally working class phenomenon it never got the write ups unlike something more middle class like rock/indie music
