I think the fact that his performances aren't perfect and exactly like the studio and "a-liittle-TOO-good" is refreshing. Because he doesn't sound COMPLETELY different live to where it's a completely different voice, but he has an honest and real voice. I enjoy it.

Ben Folds is an amazing writer, arranger, and most of all piano player. His voice is very plain but cool. He puts emotion into it even if his voice isn't super powerful. He has the package though. He can get anybody he wants as players, because he grooves. And Sam Smith and Jared Reynolds groove with him. ROCK ON BEN!!!!

What's always impressed me about Ben Folds is that he sounds like he does on the albums when preforming live. It's a refreshing change from most preforms who have great studio albums, but suck live.

I think the important thing to remember is that Ben has changed. The five was amazing but I think Ben has moved on from the crazy punk-ish phase. Hes still really funny and an amazing musician and the new band fits the style that ben wants to play now perfectly.
